All these people in the comments acting like Kirby's path has been some dramatic crescendo from small time to savior of the universe... You know it zigzags, right? Sometimes Kirby has punch-ups with Dedede, sometimes he destroys eldritch abominations threatening the very fabric of reality. The first time he fought King Dedede was 1992, the first time he fought incomprehensible horror was 1993. The last time he fought King Dedede was 2017. The last time he saved the universe was 2018.
Twenty five years of fighting for the fate of the universe... AND twenty five years of shooting stars at the angry penguin.
Kirby just does whatever lands in his lap that day with the same smile on his face. It doesn't always have to get bigger.
And then, there's times where "Villains" like Yin-Yarn are a complete joke compared to all the twisted picasso-looking villains that threatens the fate of the world too

@@thekingslayer2178 It's a recurring theme in Games he's worked on. In addition to final bosses, lesser enemies such as Waddle Doo and Kracko have a single eye. You can also find this in his Puzzle game, Meteos, where almost every playable character has a single eye as well as the main antagonist. And in Smash Ultimate, Darkhon itself has a single eye. He keeps sticking these cycloptic enemies into his games where we least expect them.
@@pizzaparker7418 what truer threat to the land of dreams (dreamland) is an enemy with his eyes pierced open as if it is awake to the true horrors of reality. For kids, the enemies with eyes don't make sense.....for adults it does.
The only mainline games Sakurai has directed are Dreamland 1, Adventure and Super Star. None of which have eyeball bosses.

1996: Armless Jester who tricked Kirby into thinking he was on his side just to gain wings and take over Popstar. Cause why not?
1997: Kirby equivalent of Satan. Defeated with the power of positive emotions, cause it’s not meant to feel that.
2000: Reincarnation of the last villain cause apparently it will not give up no matter what.
2004: Likely the mirror world counterpart of Nightmare and Zero/Dark Matter. He creates evil by having the mirrors only reflect bad things.
2005: Witch who turns Dreamland into paint, cause why not?
2006: Sealed away Demon who was shoehorned into the game for the sake of a climatic final battle. It possessed Daroach for a good reason, cause without a body, he’s weak.
2010: Yarn Wizard who wants Dreamland yet doesn’t even know what to do with it.
2011: The literal DEATH GOD. Kirby equivalent of the Grim Reaper.
2011: Marx, but better since he actually had involvement in the story, and wanted not just Popstar, but the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!
2014: Insect Queen corrupted by an evil mirror who wanted to cover all of Popstar in vines.
2015: Cloud of paint who... just wanted more paint...
2016: Powerful supercomputer that wanted to eradicate all organic life in the universe.
2018: Literal GOD who got revived by an insane worshipper that could be related in some way to Kirby himself!

In star allies he fought what is basically the god of death and destruction so I have a feeling whatever he fights next is gonna be way above Thanos
@@kurag5198 Void Termina is the primal God that serves as the incarnation of Chaos itself (as in both light and darkness). The God of Death is actually Necrodeus (as his name implies) and he is the main antagonist of a spin-off because killing off stars and all life around them is not something good enough to be a mainline Kirby villain.

Man, Kirby has come a long way in his life, even when he is young. He first fought an evil penguin and recently a big dark lord that can shape-shift. Wow. Kirby has fought a lot of powerful bad guys and saved the universe many times.
I actually have a theory about why Dedede stole all of the food. You know how Spring Breeze in Kirby Super Star was a remake of Dream Land 1? My theory was that he took the food so that Dynablade wouldn't steal it in the next part of Super Star.

Silent Protagonist Kirby was split into 10 weaker versions of himself & almost all them died because Necrodeus (the antagonist & the guy who split Kirby) killed them. The last survived because Kirby’s heart is what led him to safety.

Has anyone else played Kirby Canvas Curse and thought Drawcia was a fucking fantastic final boss? I almost shit my pants at her final form. It was one hell of a good fight, especially for the graphics.

I love how before the Yarn battle Kirby's is serious, then immediately after the Yin Yarn battle starts Kirby smiles.
And during the Yin Yarn battle, intense music plays while Kirby happily yells while fighting.
And then after the Yin Yarn battle Kirby and Prince Fluff goes to the two drumsticks while smiling then yeets them off-screen, then smiling again after. Then Kirby says

Dang Kirby powerful.

There is actually lore proof that Kirby may be/is a reincarnation of void itself. You can see for your self in Kirby star allies on the hardest possible difficulty for void termina’s fourth phase in the pause screen that Kirby, meta knight, dark matter, dark mind, dark crafter, and even gooey surprisingly all come from void, just different forms from alternative dimensions, timelines, and realities where a different energy was absorbed by void. This is the reason why void and Kirby are so similar looking. Kirby, gooey, and meta knight are born from void itself to balance out the splitting of void to create dark matter.

I really have to say that before King Dedede who is an ally and rival of Kirby there are many dark, vile, evil, ruthless, terrifying, and powerful gods that are a lot worse than King Dedede in a fun, light-hearted sugarbowl franchise with continuous lore.

Somebody suspect that Kirby come from the same race as dark matter but was growing in care and love (who knows if dark matter can be good just like Gooye), while Void was grown without love and care, which still has the ability to control/befriend others like dark matter/kirby( note that your allies can get controlled by it, also throwing a pink heart to it will damage it)

FYI, Sakurai wasn't even responsible for any of the eyeball final bosses. Shinichi Shimomura was the one who started the trend with the Dark Matter Trilogy (dreamland 2, dreamland 3 and kirby 64) and Shinya Kumazaki, the current director of kirby games carried it over into alot of his own games. Sakurai only directed dreamland, Adventure and Super Star (And airride but thats a spin off)
