    Former NFL referee and current NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay called the play an "obvious foul." McAulay spent 20 years in the NFL as an official. After his refereeing career, he transitioned into broadcasting with NBC Sports. He serves as the NBC rules analyst for Sunday Night Football, Notre Dame football games, and in other smaller capacities like Big Ten Saturday Night. McAulay said, "It’s a foul. It’s always been a foul and it will always be a foul regardless of game, time, score, or situation."

    Cool randomly meeting KVN in a random gym in St George, Utah while he still played at BYU.
    Super cool guy. He is no different in person. I moved back to Texas, shortly after meeting him in person randomly.
    Very few have accomplished what this guy has. He is an incredibly good human being, beyond being an incredible football player.

    The whining about the Holding call is hilarious. You look at the reverse angle and the Utah CB MUGGED that BYU Receiver.... The ball was on the 4 yard line. The rule is that there can be no contact after 5 yards from the line of scrimmage. The contact lasted all the way to the 15 yard line. And it wasn't insignificant contact. It would have been CRIMINAL for it NOT TO HAVE BEEN CALLED.... Hey Kyle! Have watched you your whole career! You are one of my favorites! Love you man! GO COUG's!

    Utah doesn’t have a cause of “justice.” The team had all the time in the world to make a touch down in the second half, as well as, time to stop BYU after the holding flag. What kind of coach doesn’t take these facts into account? It all seems like cover for not taking responsibility for poor execution on behalf of Utah’s special teams.

    Mark Harlan will make over $1 million this year, but the $40,000 comes out to exactly 0% of his salary because these fines are almost always paid by the school. Especially when it’s their AD.

    In the Spirit of transparency, I’m an Oregon Ducks fan first, though I’m also a BYU fan.
    However, the lack of sportsmanship from Utah coaching, the AD, and fans is the real issue here.
    There’s a time, place, and process to complain about officiating. Utah failed miserably in that regard.
    In my opinion, Utah should be barred from playing the remainder of the season.

      @JacobOstler Utahs identity is defense. Our defense is our offense a lot of the times. Utah had no offense last year and managed to win 8 games. Most games are decided in the last 8 minutes of a game anyway. Utah did their job twice and punked you twice on 4th down. Typical BYU fan will gladly take table scraps and run with it. I swear to God you guys don't care if you beat bo diddley tech. Your standard of winning doesn't matter if you look like sh1t against bad teams. @@jeremyspence3951 I will gladly take the 22-21 victory, a 9-0 record, a projected #3 seed with a first round bye in the playoffs. Hope you enjoy that L - the Ute tears make it that much sweeter!

    • @JacobOstler
      @JacobOstler 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@jeremyspence3951 This is precisely why Utah deserved to lose and did. Football is a three-phase sport - Offense, defense, and special teams. Utah's special teams failed in the first half by allowing a kick-off return for a touchdown. Utah's offense played decently for one quarter, and took a snooze in the second half. So, while Utah's defense stepped up when it could, BYU had moments where all three phases of the game were running on all cylinders, and that resulted in a Utah loss. Utah's losing record shows what happens when you play one-dimenstional football. Take your L and better luck next year.

    • @jeremyspence3951

      @@JacobOstler BYU went 14-1 one season with one of the worst defenses in college football. Should we vacate some of those wins because they didn't meet your multi dimensional standards? It's a weak take my man. The better team finds a way to win in the PIVOTAL moments of the game and Utah was the better team and the score should have reflected that. Stop rationalizing your reality... just be a person and see it for what it is. BYU lost that game.
