  • A quick video of Nick Winton unveiling the white lion sculpture at the Chapel Arches developments in Maidenhead. It commemorates his father, Sir Nicholas, who rescued children from Czechoslovakia ahead of the Second World War. He was honoured with the Order of the White Lion by the Czech president in 2014.

    Explaine to me the statue is it related to one of the 12 tribes? I'm gona make a fool out my self is it juda? Sorry!

      No, it represents Sir Nicholas. He was awarded the Order of the White Lion, first class for saving well over 600 Czechoslovakian Jewish children from the Nazis. It's their highest award for foreigners, and only 250 people may be awarded the First Class level (though First Class with Collar is reserved for foreign heads of state). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_the_White_Lion
