These words are in my face It's over now, it's over now This faceless son of a switch It's up and down, it jumps around One time that I can't lie Afraid of you, and what to do One stops before they try Like you and I, like you and I One dies without a trace It's often now, it's often now These worries aren't escapes They lose their town, they loosen down No one wnats to be faced With who's inside, with what is I Lost in the field of grace You're less than I, you're less than I [Chorus] We mean to scratch the surface now Pretend to be unreasonable It's a good time to line them up It's never over til we give up No love in the hall of the states Just think of that, speak to that Ma was the fish to the steak The fiction break, the fiction break My loosening again Brings them on up It's close to but This life in the mirror of shame It's closing down, we're closer now No sorrow to peel the flame We blew it to hell, went all so well He walked to his school with the shakes We sat him down, we turned him round His light was empty space His thought was sound, his thought was sound No faults from the light to the shade Happens the same way every day [Chorus] You can't taste someone else's taste That's what we do, what we're used to Undone with the necessary It's all around, it's up to down We rarely get confused But when we do, we really do I like to sing this song Rolls on and on, and on and on [Chorus]
No it just has a couple of good songs tacked on to make the Japanese market not buy cheaper imports, nothing to do with the make up of the album which is perfect how it is. The 'definitive edition' is how John envisioned it for worldwide release which did not include this or Vesiou. This song in particular is totally out of place it just doesn't fit in, was written years earlier and doesn't sound at all like anything else on Enclosure.
@@truefunksoul8638 that's fair. i'm definitely biased because my japanese cd was my first experience with it. i think Scratch totally fits though. the production sounds just like the rest of the album, and those constantly changing drum machines are something i've only heard from Enclosure. i don't know, it feels like a triumphant ending. Excuses still works great as the final track for sure though
@@emuse9587 I don't know what it is, but he talked about ghosts few times, he even said that they made his music not him. I think it's a consequence of a few years of heavy drug use. So he definitely developed some sort of neuroticism. Glad he is at a better place right now
OMG! I've asked many TH-camrs to make a cover of this song, but still no luck :( This song itself is really great and had catchy tune, but it would be great if someone make into a guitar cover :)
ilikedirt 1 Of course it is good music and it does not smell. John is one of the most talented and divergent musicians of the last decades. Yet, his fanatics is what I was referring to.
10 years of awesomeness
0:31 a lyric from rhcp's over funk
These words are in my face
It's over now, it's over now
This faceless son of a switch
It's up and down, it jumps around
One time that I can't lie
Afraid of you, and what to do
One stops before they try
Like you and I, like you and I
One dies without a trace
It's often now, it's often now
These worries aren't escapes
They lose their town, they loosen down
No one wnats to be faced
With who's inside, with what is I
Lost in the field of grace
You're less than I, you're less than I
[Chorus]
We mean to scratch the surface now
Pretend to be unreasonable
It's a good time to line them up
It's never over til we give up
No love in the hall of the states
Just think of that, speak to that
Ma was the fish to the steak
The fiction break, the fiction break
My loosening again
Brings them on up
It's close to but
This life in the mirror of shame
It's closing down, we're closer now
No sorrow to peel the flame
We blew it to hell, went all so well
He walked to his school with the shakes
We sat him down, we turned him round
His light was empty space
His thought was sound, his thought was sound
No faults from the light to the shade
Happens the same way every day
[Chorus]
You can't taste someone else's taste
That's what we do, what we're used to
Undone with the necessary
It's all around, it's up to down
We rarely get confused
But when we do, we really do
I like to sing this song
Rolls on and on, and on and on
[Chorus]
Wow, this song has an awesome groove to it! John Frusciante is THE MAN!
Anybody else notice that there are some samples being used in this song that are also on letur-lefr? In the Background? I feel special for noticing.
Love this song but its not on Spotify :'(
Lol , this brought me here
i love this one so much. most john songs resonate with me, but this is one of the most special ones.
John Frusciante never disappoints

The Heavy Wing from Unlimited love
Glad I'm not the only person who heard the similarity!
Oohhh, I love this song so much!
2:12 i really like this squeaky sound that he is extracting from the guitar-its like scratching
in the good old Dj days

I thought I was the only person who came here after listening to that song!
the japanese version of this album is the definitive edition

Great album
We sat him down, we turned him ‘round
The "na-na-na-na-na" is just faintly in the background.
The heavy wing

Why this is not on the oficial album?
javipm no one knows, but is a great song!
javipm japanese version
♥
I feel like there is a face hidden in the album cover's background, or am I tripping...
Ha I kinda see it man.
Nah man it's probably one of John's ghosts :)
@@Somiten ghosts? U saying he had imaginary friends or mental illness?

The heavy wing reminded me of this song

Should have been on “Enclosure”

Can anyone do a guitar cover?

yea, This song has amazing soundtrack, melody but the drums are unnecessary. Listen it from 2:31 :DD
And with my brother we going to make guitar cover soon :)
Maciek Cytrussek
Cool let me know when you do I'll be sure to subscribe to your channel
ryan martin of course :) Currently we are during making tabs, but biggest problem is solo :/
I’m sad
When it is John, some people say it's godly even if he farts. So fanatic... :/
he earned his credit fare and square- never the less ,this is a delight piece of music
and it doesn't smell!
