Great safety tips. Lights, is a must in dusk...to dark. Night "goggles"...sunglasses. Right reflective clothing. You're doing all you need. Good information. And.....Always ride with a friends and never alone! ;) Safety first. I think you all got that. ;)
I'm here after riding to the store and back in the dark and discovering that, especially when mixing in trails along the way, I discovered I could use some lighting tips. Mine is mounted on the bike. Super bright and effective. Great tail and brake lights. But. I definitely wished I had a helmet lights. Some of my trails are squirrely. Like one has a zig zaggy bridge. I wished I'd had a light on my helmet to cover direct forward. I had to slow waaaaay down compared to going through that area, which I know well, because I was out riding my light since it was zig zagging with the turns. Having that AND the helmet light so I can illuminate straight ahead too in that spot would have been nice.
It’s a little nerdy, but having a bell or loud hubs with the mix use trails around here help me not run into pedestrians, hikers, kids, and the occasional pet being walked in a pet stroller. Haha! Great video homie!
I love a bell! I just put a spur cycle bell on Krystal’s bike. It’s like having a super power when you’re riding on trails. DING! And people move over.
@@TheCommutist I wish that worked! I also have a Spurcycle bell (which I love), and the last time I rode the Coyote Creek Trail, only one of the 6-8 pedestrians/groups of pedestrians moved over, much less acknowledged in any way that they heard my bell before I passed them. Timing can be tricky, of course - ring the bell too early, and you need to ring it again when you're about to pass (especially if they are wearing the requisite earbuds/headphones...) Too late, and you might really startle them. I try to avoid the CCT if at all possible because of this issue.
Yeah…sometimes on CCT they have their headphones so loud I can hear them as I’m passing by. They’re invariably startled as I pass even though I give plenty of room…and shout loudly. Lol
That flashing light tip is huge. Flashing nights at light is so disorienting that's it's a home defense tactic lol. Great video.
Thanks!

Awesome safety tips and advice. Really like the moving lights on Krystals legs and the helmet light.
Moving lights are so visible!

Yeah…the ability to see where you’re looking is nice, even if the bike isn’t pointed that way.

Note I'm specifically talking about the CCT - when I ring my bell on the road, runners/walkers/cyclists invariably acknowledge it!

Always lights! I’d rather be a living nerd then a dude who was cool when he was alive.
I do not carry a siren or mace. I carry a 9mm Sig with 2 extra mags cocked and locked.
