Future reference... placing sheet metal under the floor jack allows its centering action to follow the load upward.

While I will never attempt this on my boat, I found this video to be one of the most interesting and well thought out videos I have every watched on TH-cam of the tens of thousands of videos I have watched. Bravo!

Audio issue on Ava's microphone. One channel is out of phase ie plus and minus swapped around on one channel so when played in mono no sound is herd. And when listening on headphones it sounds weird.
Fix you can either discard the out of phase channel in edit. (the one that cancels with the music) and only have one mono voice channel in edit or correct the wiring of the micrapone into the camera. I would suggest both.
Causes Using an incorrect jackplug or plugging a balanced jack to a stereo in, mono jack into a stereo input. Wrongly soldered cable etc. could all cause this issue.
Really enjoy these videos over the years. Awesome to now have history tours.

This is such a classic Mads job, manual reading (rtfm), test fits, timers, material data sheets, material testing, its got it all. I tell my missus, if i need to do a job on my Albin Ballad I need to do it the way Mads would do it.

I would have made a tent and run a dehumidifier to buy myself as much time as possible, but I love how Mads ran materials testing and found the precise time that the material skinned over. That’s just an obscenely tight application window. Good golly, 20 minutes 😬😖

The Boy, Me, and the Cat: Life Aboard a Small Boat from Massachusetts to Florida. By Plummer.
Plummer sailed from Massachusetts to Florida in a traditional catboat ~20’. The story is beloved by us catboaters and tells a story from a smaller boat experience - smaller than what you often see these days.

I am super impressed by the attention to detail mads spends in reading and following the directions on paints and adhesives to be sure the specifications are within the work window and use parameters. This is actually pretty rare even in so-called "professional" marine techs as they go about contracting work for poor unsuspecting schmucks who actually believe the people they are hiring have a clue what they are doing -or even care if the job comes out correctly.
The time spent rehearsing and choreographing the procedure so the process was under the time limits for good adhesion at the given atmospheric conditions was impressive too.
My mind boggled a little when you told us how many tubes of adhesive you needed. At somewhere around $20/tube that made my head swim. Even though you weren't paying a couple of "professional" marine techs $300/hour to do this job the material costs still were not cheap just in themselves for a DIY job.

Hate to break this to you: Sikaflex usually does not cure well beyond a thickness of a few centimeters. The moisture needed for it to cure cant penetrate through such thick layers. Chances are the top of the keel is going to sit in soft sikaflex. There is a diagramm for curing speed vs. thickness in the 292i datasheet.

Suggesting no new boat for Mads is like telling a painter not to start a new canvas.
It's what he does, sailing is just a bonus part.
I've watched this master from the first and he has definitely spent far more time working on boats than sailing them. But that is the part of the journey Mads seems to enjoy the most and frankly, most sailing channels do better with DIY boat repair videos than the actual sailing videos or videos of some foreign tropical spot.
Maybe because we can all relate to the repairs and the struggle while we all think we already know how to best enjoy a tropical paradise.
Not really sure the reason why but it just seems to be so.
No boat is perfect in every way. And you can't do every option on one boat. Mads seems to really love innovation, electronics, gadgets and making things work for him. Sometimes it's more about creating and progress than enjoying what is.
Let's hope Mads never loses his desire to do. He is a treasure for sure.
And let's hope he does get a new project so we can all enjoy the repairs.
