If it helps any, three of my coworkers started with 0 cybersecurity experience, certs, or a degree in cyber before starting here! One was an IT background, one was a security guard who was trying to self learn, and the other is still in the middle of an online cyber degree (hired with me). Don't sell yourself short, if you're working towards a cyber role spend a solid few months fluffing and perfecting your resume and start applying if you haven't already! I had 1.5 years of help desk before applying to 1000+ jobs across a few weeks and landing my current role. 💚
This was great I was wondering if there was anything hands on for newbies. I’m getting a degree right now but I really want to get more hands on experience with it practicing and learning. Please make more videos like this. They are teaching me so much. Really enjoyed this video 😂
I'd say it's very empowering when you're blocking an IP in a 20,000+ employee environment 😅 Almost as satisfying as resetting someone's password and sending an automated email to their boss saying they fell for a phishing email haha
This was one of your first videos for me, I like your unique energetic touch with jokes. I jumped into this just after passing the ISC2 CC and google cybersecurity. These tryhackme modules helped me pass my security plus. I just completed SOC level 1 and moving onto SOC level 2. Hopefully level 1.5 is a new job. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for sharing! I start my new analyst role for our csoc team in 2 weeks. I think dkijg challenges like this will prove extremely beneficial! So excited for the opportunity
I've taken cybersecurity courses up the wazoo! But I really need to do some more practical skill training. Thanks for this video! And also, I subscribed.
This looks like it could be a fun series! 😀 I alsi like that you are focusing more on blue team stuff. Most channels I watch focus on red team or pentesting. I feel like SOC and blue teaming needs more coverage! 😁
Yes please continue. I have touched on a bit of this and have enjoyed it. Have also hit some snags that I have yet to find a walk through for so going through it with you would be enjoyable. Great content. Thank you
Bro I m following you, your content is quite helpful please continue the module of junior soc level 1 with more video and please complete all modules will help many learners
Will def be watching these. ATM am studying for security +, thinking about doing this on the side when i don't wanna hear professor messer's voice over and over. Regardless, I'll be doing this afterwards in hopes of padding the resume
Thank you for watching! I'll continue the TryHackMe efforts! It's definitely more engaging then listening to videos, gotta pad the resume as much as possible with how saturated the entry level jobs appear to be.
I'm so glad I came across your channel. Given that the tryhackme SOC Level 1 path is 56 hours plus 52 Labs, would you consider this to be equivalent to a Bootcamp?
I haven't personally taken BTL1, but the THM modules aren't backed by a certification with a whole lot of weight. THM serves as more of a "hey, I'm very interested in this field so I spent an abundant amount of time working on labs just for the sake of learning". THM is also subscription based with full access to all modules on the site whereas BTL1 is $500 for the training and exam. For that reason, BTL1 is superior as far as adding to your resume, but of course cost more.
@@madhatistaken What do you think about SC-200? I'm scheduled to take the CASP+ on the 10th. After I was thinking about doing the SC-200 then the BTL1. Your opinion?
@@krisg900 I think the SC-200 and other Azure certs are undervalued. I had an interview a week ago asking my experience with Microsoft Defender so, it's definitely worth adding to one's repertoire of knowledge AND you can continue on and get the Security Architect cert (SC-100). Solid plan you've got going.
@@madhatistaken I was juggling SC 200 or AZ 500? Which would you pick? I heard the AZ 500 is a beast. Super hard. But is it worth it. AZ 500 you have to know a lot of general azure tool info.
That varies from person to person. But on average probably a month or two at an hour a day? You could go through a lot quicker but I think that misses the point of TryHackMe platform as a learning opportunity more than just a certificate to obtain.
Yessss maaan we would love to see you do more of these challenges , your content is just so fun man . Appreciate it man thank you!
Very helpful man, currently stuck in help desk going on 1 year now and doing anything to get into a cyber security role.

try hack me is good for some hands on practice as well. Give it a try
Blocking IPs looks fun 🥳

Even funier: blocking an ip addres you shouldnt have blocked
@@vikketikv9486 so blocking your a-hole boss' IP?
Getting the authorization makes it less fun but it still feels good.
This was super helpful! I've been looking for something more hands-on so I'll give this a try!

I'm trying to make the blue team stuff seem exciting, but man is it boring 😅😅😅 Thank you for watching!

Some of the modules are premium will I have to complete them too inorder to get the certification?
Thank you! Please continue the series🎉❤
I got a popup for becoming a member, pay a monthly payment, that is the funniest thing ever, me paying money for this, hahaha
Yea continue with this series!!
Keep doing this puh-lease! :) Thanks for the video!
I think this is going to be a really good series for me and im surely going to watch all of the episodes
Thank you for watching! 💚 I'll keep the series going!
You should also do an update on your new position unless you haven’t started yet
I've been meaning to, the work is very dull and doesn't seem worthy of a video 😅 I'll try to spice it up and post and update soon!

Hell Ya! Some more, this is awesome....
Great info! What is the restriction for not being a paid member?
I want to be a SOC analyst. I think it would be a good platform from which to grow a career.
Senior soc analyst position pay is no joke. Definitely a career level salary range 😍 Just have to keep learning until I make it 😅
Thanks man this helps a lot!
I love this video! I've started the course and paid for premium!!
Thank you for watching! I just posted the second part (boringly long). I'll keep going with the series 💚
how immediate do u i need to use linux?
I'm so glad I came across your channel. Given that the tryhackme SOC Level 1 path is 56 hours plus 52 Labs, would you consider this to be equivalent to a Bootcamp?
Yeah i wonder if its worth the time investiment since i dont have security+ yet 😢
Thank you
Would it be correct to assume you’re using a paid account or are these available in the free setting?
There are some free modules, but I do also have their $10 a month subscription.
thank you!!!
Hello, I recently just finished this SOC level 1 path, now what?, can you recommend some material to practice more?

This one is free 😁
Thank you! Today, I received a free voucher for a 1 month paid-membership. What do you recommend I complete before it runs out?
@@BrightMilo Depends on what you're interested in. Soc Level 1 is great for blue teaming. But there's a lot of red team focused modules.

Did it free on thm totally or some are free ?
Some are free and some require the subscription
its free ???
yes thats why om doing it
Some rooms are free
Is this course free?? And how long to complete it??
You need a subscription. It's like $10 a month
Hey do a backflip on cam

Which is best? Let’s defend or Tryhackme?

does tryhackme give you any kind of certifications or just a badge of completion?
