Great Western Power and Glory at the KWVR Spring Gala with 4079 Pendennis Castle and 6990 Witherslack Hall as the stars of the show. And for a line that probably hosts more ex LMS and ex BR designs the two guest locomotives excelled for sound and pulling power.
Despite Saturday's weather (cool, damp, windy - squally showers, rainbows and 7C at best) it was pleasing to observe the railway has lost none of its charm in the twenty years or so since my last visit and retains its unique blend of industrial and open scenery, impressively restored stations and a steep gradient throughout. The power and performance of Pendennis Castle was totally stunning - it's sound scarily reminiscent of a moment in the mid-seventies, at a Steamtown Carnforth Open Day, when I believe the tubes were blown just before it's sad departure to Australia. How magnificent to witness such a glorious locomotive back to life and emerging from Mytholmes Tunnel and attacking the bank out of Keighley.

@@davebenjamin5380 Yeas it was friday i had good weather although from time to time there were strong winds though i enjoyed filming the ride with double header fron keighley to worth station special uphil was awsome
