  • The dog and I were hoping to find some place to escape from the humidity.. we failed but we did find the Edwin H. Gott leaving the lock! It is always a treat to see this ship come through town. They also gave a great master salute as they left town.. class act for sure!

The view you provide really helps me fill in the picture I get from the tower. Both are wonderful. Thanks Cody.

Thank you. Argo knows that he is the real star, the ships are just a coincidence :)

The master salute was after I stopped the video sadly. I was walking back home when I heard it. Thank you for the comment!

@@codyandargo906 ok thanks appreciate the follow up here’s another technical question for y’all’s - what is the ‘Ship Arrester’ Arm Made of?? - It’s got to be Kryptonite to arrest something that massive
It’s an interesting piece of structural steel to say the least

I really can't be sure but I'd imagine it is steel. The Arrestor arm for the Mac lock is a bit more decorative and definitely looks like steel. The Poe lock is more function over form. They do lock in securely on the end but I'm with you, it has to be incredibly strong to resist so much possible moving weight!

@@johnmeola1189 ok not so wise guy. The ships are moving a dead slow speed approaching the locks. So there is a fair chance that the cable will stop even a footer from hitting.
