Dylan was old enough to know if he wanted to go be with his dad. I don't think the courts should push children to visit a parent once they are old enough to be part of the decision. I may be wrong on this. It just seems wrong. This case is just tragic and so awful . I'm glad Cody and his mother are doing well. It has to be so hard. They are very strong. God bless them.

You are right, while the court didn't kill Dylan, their decision was a contributing factor and it usually this in many cases of child abuse and child death by murder of their parents or partner of parents. This is like an extreme case for the Streisand effect. I remember his interviews with Dr Phil and you could tell clearly he killed his kid bit back then his fetishes and motive were still unknown to the public, because I bet you people around him knew then. My heart aches for Dylan's mother and for Cory. She was forced by the courts to send her son to his father, despite the fact he didn't want to go, and I'm sure she lives with grief over THAT. And I can only imagine the pain Cory lives with from knowing Dylan faced such a horrible end without him being there to possibly help him. Cory isn't to blame AT ALL, but survivor's guilt can be a harsh taskmaster. 😢 I pray this monster NEVER sees the outside of prison again.

I believe there is something more involved. Blackmailing may be. The first thing any child would do in such a situation would be to report it to their mother. But they didn't do that. It seems they may have had some other plans, which would explain the whole thing, because the text message that was sent, was done by Corey. There is no reason for Mike to murder Dylan knowing full well that it won't solve the matter at all.

13:43 this raises a very important point for me that I have never found mentioned on child abuse and true crime cases.
Often stories are told as one sibling doing everything in their power to protect another sibling, including taking abuse for them. In my experience the reality of an abusive childhood is every man for himself. Stories are always told in retrospect as an older (or occassionally younger) sibling being the hero. While I dont question survivors who have this experience, I think the survival of the psyche and individual more often includes the every man for himself mentality. Not only is it more psychologically natural, it's what I witnessed and experienced in mine and other homes.
In this case there was an age gap and no active sa or physical abuse on a daily basis, but the mentality of "sucks man, just survive it, text me whenever you need to" is so so SO much more believable that the superman complex that gets explained in all true crime and abuse stories Ive heard.
Im mostly bothering to post this as it always really fcking bothers me and I think maybe some of it will resonate with the host. (request for Vandals shirt, sir.)

Holding some dirt on someone can be a personally empowering feeling, deciding to let them know, and using it in some matter, is always a very very very dangerous thing to do. no matter the age or relationship. WORD : That dirt you hold can sometimes be used to cover YOUR grave. My motto? "I don't wanna know your secrets" and If we're close enough, even if I find them out, all Imma do is walk away, you can wonder why and deal with it as is. But I know what some will do to keep their secrets....secret. As far as not "Shaming" someone into eating feces and smearing on themselves or another person...I have ZERO problem with calling them exactly what they are. I knew this was going to be wild when you mentioned fetishes but I really regret having a curry before this video.

Your narrative is amazing. I love seeing the guy behind the voice. Thanks for the in depth stories. Monsters is one of my favorite channels

@@JF-cn3cz I know what you mean. It’s always a little weird putting a face to a voice when you’ve only ever just heard the voice for a long time.
