12/3/24Tue.2of2 - Mississippi River and Santa Fe Warbonnet's on Parade :

This is the second half of a two part series covering a day in and around Keokuk Iowa .
This part opens as the AT&SF Warbonnet's enter through the West Flood Gates adjacent to the Roquette America Boiler House and Keokuk Grain Exchange Probing/Testing facility.
It enters the west end of the BNSF Keokuk Yard at this point and passes by the Roquette America Grain Elevator and Wet Corn Milling Plant as it slowly glides to a halt from 25mph.
At this point, I relocated to the east yard throat and image the process of exchanging cuts. This takes me as far as the Keokuk Union Depot and George M. Verity , both museums on opposite sides of the track at this point, before they back their cut back into the yard.
KJRY's , LTEX GP35 # 3848, and the local switching crew enter the scene at this point repeatedly for several meets, as both Crews switch.
As the Warbonnet's back, their outbound bound cut, back into the long line of tank cars left out on the mainline, I relocated once again as they air up their train line .
The next scene finds me waiting near the Keokuk Yacht Club along the shores of Lake Cooper on the Mississippi River.
Don't wait very long ! I don't do a full run-by here because the train is so long .
It would prohibit me from getting to the next location before it.
Which brings me to Sandusky Iowa and a final run-by for the day .
