_"Rocket's the most-well written character in the MCU"_
Most people won't fight you on that one buddy.

I can fight you on that lol, but not very hard its either Loki or Rocket. But loki has 2-3x the screentime so probably rocket

Lylla telling Rocket that the story has always been his feels like it can also be applied to the trilogy as a whole. It's evident when Peter passes on the role of leader to him, thus symbolizing him moving past his traumatic roots and finding his own purpose given his sentiments that his creators made him for nothing. And how he was ultimately able to find it during his time with the Guardians.

You could technically take that entire scene as a casual drop for the meaning of life as a whole imo.
There are so many layers to those words, really feels like they came from one who is now in eternity…

The only mcu franchise that truly has 10/10 movies.

I've said since guardians 1 that my favorite mcu character was Rocket and everyone always laughed at me when hearing this - I totally agree with you though Rocket is the best written character in the whole MCU and this third masterpiece of a movie proved it!!!

I'm gonna have to politely disagree with your opinion for the second movie about out of place comedy, especially Drax and Mantis. The story they are experiencing is directly that of father figure and daughter figure, it doesn't just make sense that they are disjointed from the rest of the group in their comedic scenes, it works perfectly because they're experiencing their own conflict: they feel emotions differently and they process things VERY differently, Mantis feels others emotions 100%, so having her be a comedic force means she's not always sad, and in a sense, she's feeling joy for the first time in a long time, since these are the first few people who treat her with kindness since Ego claimed her, especially Drax, someone who claims to find her disgusting and yet is the first person she opens up to, which makes her this incredibly melancholic character, and the same goes for Drax, someone who we clearly see through Mantis is consistently feeling a great sorrow only a parent who's lost a child can have, but he's happy, and that's such a GOOD thing. As someone who experiences depression, the only way to cope with that kind of sadness is comedy, and the second movie works perfectly. (Though that's the only point I disagree with :))

Good video and I agree with just about everything you said! One thing I like about this trilogy is that each film feels distinct. Volumes 1 and 2 are closer in tone than Volume 3. Volume 2 feels more melancholic while Volume 1 feels lighter and more fun (not that it’s devoid of emotion, it’s just less at the forefront), and Volume 3 feels a lot darker and more serious (while still having levity). Not only does this make each movie feel all the more distinct, it also lets the trilogy grow with its characters.

There was a whole Rocket Raccoon comic book before he was brought into the main continuity. Does that help? 3:22

Really glad that you brought up Infinity War and Endgame when talking about these movies. It really impressed me how James Gunn was able to craft a conclusion that was still in line with the Russos' brief use of them. You can really tell how much more they were played for laughs in their movies, but he's a reminder that the Guardians are the best of both worlds.

You should totally play the Eidos-Montreal Guardians game, it's a really great story and the characters are about as well-written as in the movies while also having a lot of their own unique qualities that make them stand out on their own. It has more of an adventurous space opera vibe similar to the first film, the humor is excellent, but it also goes very dark and very deep into each of the Guardians. Seriously I can't recommend it enough, I love it almost as much as the movies and I love the movies more than anything lol.
    Great video by the way.

Really good analysis. I wish they had all stayed together on Knowhere though. I like to think that's how they got that picture of everyone together.

What a wonderful video! I didn't fully agree with a few things in the view but I personally believe you said everything that should be said. Oh and you mentioned you wanted more Guardians content, I recommend Square Enix's GOTG. It's a really fun story based game but if you're not really invested in the lore of the Guardians, it doesn't work all too much

I love this trilogy ❤️ Quill and Rocket are probably my favourite characters in the series, I kind of relate to their personalities, I can be be lady’s man like Peter, and I have a lot of operation trauma of dealing doctors cutting me open and sticking me with needles

There’s only one guardians game worth playing, and it’s the 2021 game, it was severely overlooked due to it being the most recent marvel game after avengers and that just isn’t right imo…

I think the Guardians is a fantastic trilogy, but I would say it's impossible for this trilogy to be perfect for one core reason. It requires outside information to fully understand the three movies. The Thanos storyline happens outside of the trilogy, so does Gamora's death. Learning that Mantis was Quill's sister, I didn't even know that going into theatre's you had to watch the Christmas Special to find that out. While I love the trilogy, on their own it's not a full story

It's their only good trilogy and with the direction the mcu is headed in it's likely to stay that way

Great video! I agree that it’s a perfect trilogy too. Guardians 3 is my third favourite MCU movie just behind infinity war and endgame. I was mostly done with this franchise after the infinity saga due to their ongoing decline now. But this final GOTG movie was one of the two exceptions alongside No way home imo that got me back invested once more. For me personally, ending the investment with this masterpiece was a good call.
