I love playing Illaoi as a support. I know that sounds super troll, but double marksman or marksman/mage bot lanes are pretty common right now, and when the enemy champs don't really have a dash or they have an ability that causes them to slow or stand still for an animation, it's so easy to grab a clone, then most of the time they literally just run away because they can't stand there and tank the free damage you and your bot laner can do through the clone. If they stay, they most likely die. If they become a vessel, now they need to play this obnoxious mini game. That's the beautiful part to me. Yeah, she's a melee champion, but suddenly the enemies need to dodge these tentacles, which isn't necessarily hard, but it's something to divide their attention. Harder to focus on cs, or to trade damage back. Meanwhile, you dont really need to do anything but wait for your E to come up again. Getting ganked is also really difficult for jungle unless you're super far behind or they're super ahead. This has the additional benefit of being surprisingly flexible. AD is pretty much always going to be 'best' if you can afford it without getting killed, but bruiser and tank builds are also really useful for the team. Even if you're not outright killing opponents, being hard to kill makes this a really good control mage strategy. Lastly, .. and probably most 'troll' but also hilarious, .. AP Illaoi with Black fire Torch is just a riot. It's important of you ever try AP Illaoi that you max Q because all of her damage will come from tentacle slams, which is technically her passive, but Q rank increases slam damage by a percentage. Anyways, that's my novel! Thanks!
The tank build with grasp is my build for sup illaoi, damage is done by my adc, and the best combo I have found for illaoi sup is veigar, asol or champs that scales by doing damage to enemy champs
i have to say, my first thought when you bought those steelcaps was "damn that's a big mistake" didn't expect that 18:45 play to make me so right.
every single one of them has a cc that can be reduced by tenacity, and 3 of them have more than 2 seconds of cc by themselves...
