I wouldn't hang the HVAC because it would make too much noise vibrating the floor above. I'm highly sensitive to noise. Maybe most people wouldn't notice.
Never seen this video posted. Yes, seen water in soft duct. You should’ve brought foil tape to tape those holes you made. Yes, I would use uni-strut to hang whatever off the joist, but there are vibration absorbing connectors to reduce vibration. Still, like you, I don’t like HVACs in the crawlspace. Place a drip pan up that HVAC with capability to drain to the outside. No, I wouldn’t tap into the gas line for add-one’s. No, I would not store stuff in the crawlspace. My wires … all in conduit. This crawlspace with the vast space it has, has the potential to be one of the best. They best do the improvements before the wood show F’ing / mold damage. Encapsulation is needed for this space … that would include dehumidifier etc.
