- Rego Sensei discussing the "build up" of atemi-waza in practical self-defense. The idea in this strategy is to immediately maximize effectiveness and minimize telegraphing (seiryoku zen'yo) and building on the gains made in previous strikes. While there are other strategies that work depending on context - this is among the most universally applicable.
Recorded during the October 2021 Black Belt Class at the Jukido Jujitsu Academy in Palm Coast, Florida.
Love it! Extremely practical, straightforward and devastating 😃😃😃
I truly love the way he teaches. I feel that this sensei students not only learn the move but that learn why they're doing what they're doing. So well explained. God bless you sir keep up the good work.
Honored! Thank you so much!
I love your demonstrations! Powerful energetic and well explained. Your really made me want to pick up practice again after a casual 15 years break.❤🩹
Wow! If the "bug" is biting you again after 15 years off - just remember that it is never too late! I appreciate you sharing those kind sentiments! All the best to you!
Nicely articulated. Very much like the style of pencak silat style I studied for a little while. Also a concept that is now more important that I'm old and no longer fast nor explosive.
You got it! As we age, our skillset should reflect our evolution as a martial artist, and that includes moving away from being "fast and explosive" to a more efficient style.
Very practical demonstration. Good stuff, no fluff.
Nice explanation, It's just like cutting a tree down...one chop at a time!
Thank you, Master Dylag! High praise coming from someone of your karate expertise and power! Thanks for the enduring support! Ossu!
