I lived in Shinozaki 1991-1998. (currently Living in Leeds, UK). I was only a child (3yrs - 11years old). A lot of the city has changed but many things are still the same. One day, i WILL go back to visit all the places I used to go! Thank you for sharing this video!

I’d live there in a heartbeat. It looks like a nice quiet-ish place to come home to after daily life in a more energetic part of Tokyo. I enjoyed walking along the banks of the Edo gawa last time I was in Tokyo. The breeze and open space were refreshing.

When I come to Japan I love going to the residential areas away from the touristy areas and just vibe i love seeing this. Hopefully I’ll be back in Japan 2021 summer.

@@onlyinjapanGO What would be fun is to stay over one night and just retrace the steps from your past. I think it would be a warm yet new feeling to wake up the next day in your former neighborhood. It'll put into perspective of how far you've come and grown over the years.

How would you rate supermarket snacks are they cheap mass produced or are they decent quality ?
My smartphone is 4K not a cheap one though it does way better at 1080p.

Well, it’s a real living area of the city, no tourists. Koiwa is worth a visit for sure! There is a world famous bonsai museum which requires a 15 min bicycle ride from Shinozaki. Well worth it!

Now I’m curious what the rate of alcoholism is. When you have teens you’re not supposed to make it super easy for them to get alcohol at home
Yes, but they find a way - although I hated the taste of it until a year into college 🤢 *it seems* alcoholism is less a need for drinking dependency as it is required for work so I’d be curious as well to learn the data on this. Does that need for work socialization cause more dependency? It must, right? 🤔

Are any of the train stations wheelchair accessible?
This one is! They built an elevator 4 years ago. When the Olympics were announced, many were renovated for better access. Only a few stations aren’t accessible the days but they’re all on the mend.
All I learned from this video is John observes way too many kids.

Yeah, the downside to 4K, see EVERY details 😝 720p means come see it in 16K with your own eyes ASAP.
