- A full tear down and repair of a Technics SL-PG300 CD Player. Symptoms were player powered up but would not read disks. This video also applies to Technics SL-PG100 and SL-PG200 models. I cover the complete disassembly, checking the micro-switches (track 1 switch and both drawer switches). Testing all motors (sled and spindle) and removal, repair and lubrication of the track sled and motor mechanism (which had frozen from sticky grease).
I've always tended to avoid Panasonic CD players due to the lasers being unobtanium these days, but that mech looks a much better design than the Sonys of the era and in fairness I've never seen one with a knackered laser!
Nice vid , subscribed - and greetings from the other Newcastle (UK).
I recently had to give up on a Technics 5 disk carousel repair. I've found Sony's to be OK, but Technics have all been easy to fix (so far).
Wow, Great video !
I love the older CD players.
You have just tought me So much about tiny little parts that can be serviced on board these players that even I didnt know about, Thank you.
I have just Subscribed and i am from Newcastle also ! Nth Lambton.

Very usefull thanks
Good video 👍
Curious that you didn't change any of the rubber belts?
Fair comment, but the belts had good tension and didn't need changing.
Hey cocka, where are you from? Nice to hear an Aussie voice
