I did this last Summer and had the same exact guy as you guys doing it! I didn't do it with the old story so I cant comment on that but it was still neat
I say they have landscapers add gardens along the shorelines with miniature replicas of old rides. It could be sort of a botanical garden boat ride through the history of the park. It’s a lot harder to sell the idea of being on a river adventure with a roller coaster roaring overhead.
thanks for this vid! I keep skipping for coasters rides. this really shows the park is trying different things and I'll definitely check it out next visit...tomorrow actually hope it's up and running
Just rode this yesterday. It was OK but the real estate narrative doesn't really work with the scenes and animatronics, they should just make it like the Paddlewheel Cruise storyline where you just go around and look at various riverfront scenarios. I imagine that next year they''ll revamp it again. Also, the entrance is ttoo hidden so most people don't even know the ride is there. It'd be great if they could somehow relocate it so it's closer to where most of the crowds go.
Understandable. I think they should drop the storyline and just have the boat go around and talk about the sights the way the old paddlewheel boat ride used to do.
Great video as always. I think they should go back to making it a nice boat ride with wilderness scenes like they had when they had the paddle wheel boats.
I agree. Make it closer to the paddlewheel excursion ride with more (and better!!) animatronics. And get rid of the preshow shed. It's pointless now that there isn't actually a preshow.
What if this is just the early season story or it changes at some point this season or next season it changes to a big investor bought up all the properties. It could lead to a teaser campaign as to what's to come to the island. It would be cool if they put up for sale signs as teasers with eventually those being labeled SOLD!
as a former Paddlewheel Excursions captain from 2003, i am sad to see what the ride has become.. i did ride it in 2021 when it re-opened and it was an enjoyable story but having also seen another ride-through video a few weeks ago of what they did to it this year, it just reminds me of them trying to recapture the fun of Excursions and it didnt work.. dont get me wrong im happy that CP brought back the ride itself as a whole but the one i know and worked on will always hold a special place for me..
As a former Portrait sketch artist at a amusement park years ago…..did you guys ever think of having a caricature done of you two together at a CP stand and video it……that would be fun to see ?
They had to redo it since they got rid of Forbidden Frontier. I went on this a couple of weeks ago, and my family and I enjoyed it more this year than last. We felt last year was too busy with all of the people running around and stuff. They’ve made it more like Jungle Cruise at Disney theme parks.
There were definitely going to be people like you who enjoy this newer version, you’re surely not alone. But our guess is that most who’ve ridden both versions will be a little upset with this one.
@@BeachcliffStudios Maybe that whole area will get a refresh and they will will tie that in to the boat ride some how. They could still keep it themed to trapping and exploration. Maybe new thrill rides themed to that as well.
They always had the actors from forbidden Frontier do double duty on Snake River expedition. I always thought that Forbidden Frontier was weak, but it's absence is making Snake River worse. Oh well. Biggest difference for me will be not seeing the Snake River actors chilling from Iron Dragon!
They just opened forbidden frontier a couple years ago and now look. This looks dumb now. I hope the entertainment budget increases next year. They probably lost too much money during covid and it caught up with them.
Forbidden frontier was 19 and snake river expedition was supposed to be 2020 but was held back until 21. Their big plans for the families aren’t working out so well.
Good video but sad ride … we were so disappointed a couple weeks ago when we rode it, last year it was kitschy and a bit silly but fun. This year it’s just sad, as a person who doesn’t ride roller coasters I enjoy the entertainment and it was cut way back this year
Omg, how awful, they get rid of log flume rides and antique cars, now they want to fix old coasters! Nostalgia, bring it back CP! The park and rides worked fine before. They get rid of everything, nostalgic, and family friendly,,,all they care about is money and fast thrill rides, it's sad

What a weird, kind of depressing story for them to go with. Why not just say everyone left, and now we're going to explore the old town or whatever (I never rode the original one so I don't know the story.) Or like the tour guide is like breaking the rules and taking you into an abandoned place that you aren't supposed to go because of some big event that drove everyone off? Why would anyone ever decide that property sales was a good fit for a ride for families and kids?
It's destined to become a boat ride with the captain making corny jokes about bad animatronics.I think the should put a dock on the other side so it can be used as a transportation ride.
All the good crap and actors was boring dull and way too long. It’s better with one Captain that drives and speaks. Former Captain Terry ( Western Cruise ) summer 1975.
Thanks for this man. Liked and subbed

Or even a riverboat excursion history of the park. That would be cool.
My newest video includes me ranting about this ride! Released on the same day.
Great minds think alike! 😂
We did this like last week in the middle of a members video. Didn’t even plan on it honestly

I'm going next Tuesday. I will check it out
It’s fun being on a boat but other than that nothing really happens lol. Still worth a ride
Hey guys I really love your content. Keep the good work

It’s rough right now and they have trouble keeping it staffed. Definitely interested to see what becomes of it next season.

Went on it a few weeks ago. It merely served to fulfill my social anxiety quota for the day.
The ride caused you anxiety?
@@BeachcliffStudios the awkward interactions with the tour guide and the other guests
@@jsmith0121 this newer version doesn't really have those interactions anymore so maybe you'd be more comfortable.

It would be nice if they’d go that deep but unfortunately we don’t see it.

When forbidden frontier opened in 2019 they had a bunch of hammocks so that was nice going back there and laying around.
I’m going to cedar point on Friday and staying 2 nights so I’ll be there 3 days in a row!
Have fun
