Chase is the one who should of caught the fraud in the first place since this man hasn't used a business check since 2017 and only used debit card since. Chase should of put a hold on that check before cashing the check till they talked to him.
One time my wife and I deposited 2 grand in our td bank account. The money never went into the account. Thank god we kept the deposit receipt. Even with the receipt they gave us a hard time but did ultimately deposit the money into the account. After that we keep all bank receipts for record.
Someone cloned by ATM card an removed 500 dollars in 5 separate transactions of 100 each and Chase refused to refund the money. F'k Chase, they are an awful bank.
I was about to be a new Chase customer but after seeing constant stories, think I am going back to my favorite bank. I'm currently with Wells Fargo, which is pretty bad, but U.S Bank has been very kind to me.
Glad you were able to help this man. Banks have millions if not billions in assets, the guy reported the fraud immediately and their "investigation" determined it was his fault even though the checks weren't even taken from him. Right.
What's worse is if he has any of these sent to collection the collection agencies are probably going to declare him lying and demand payment which will cause further headache and potentially drag on for months if not years
Outrageous! The names of the criminals are right in the TO line. When these criminals come in to cash the checks, they’re caught. Of course, if they go to another bank, this wouldn’t work but there’s got to be a way to get these scum. And who locks up their checks?
It frustrates me because if they can send money to an account why can’t they go investigate that account and where it is being accessed from. Banks have enough money to find the truth and they don’t I didn’t get reimbursed for Zelle scam someone pretending to be an Apple rep.
My fiancee uses Chase and they treat him like a criminal every time he deposits *his paycheck* from *his job* hes had for 5 years or when he tries to withdrawal any of his money. I cant convince him to change banks...
How can I contact these people to help me with chase? Chase is holding my 2,300 dollars and refuse to release it even after they have verified the issuer if the check. I need help.
I have been in banking for over 18 years and 7 years in the fraud dept. I can say they handled that ALL WRGN. Why this wasn't escalated to the hire ups. If it was then shame on you CHASE. The worse thing a bank wants or needs is a public shame. It causes so much damage to their reputation.
CHASE has had a BAD REPUTATION for a while now, I tell everyone I know to stay away from them!! I have all my family banking at credit unions, they know how to treat their customers!
Why would it matter if the drawer was locked or not? The checks weren't stolen. These were checks created elsewhere. I'm also willing to bet they were mobile deposited. I had a similar problem with Wells Fargo Bank years ago (just one check). They made me close the account and open a new one and the money was placed back into my account. They didn't give me any issues. Anyway, where in Chase's deposit agreement does it say the checks must be in a locked cabinet? If the guy locks his house when he's not home, that should be enough.
Banks will often do the right thing only after being exposed in the local news. That Chase couldn't figure out that these were manufactured fakes doesn't speak very highly of their intelligence.
But this could happen with ANY bank, not just Chase. But now that I've said that, as soon as my Chase credit card is paid off, I am done with Chase. :-O
My Mom had a checks written for bills stolen from her mailbox and they used that to get money from her account because places like Walmart do not ask for ID. Wells Fargo shut the account down AND reimbursed her within 2 weeks (about $1500). The cops eventually found the perps (druggies).
Yes this COULD happen with any bank but most good banks will actually try and help their customers and not screw them over! Having to involve the news media just to refund $1300 is ridiculous and a shame on them! Hopefully they can be audited internally to investigate Chase and hopefully keep them HONEST.
Wow! If it wasn’t because he called this reporter, he never would’ve recovered his money. Chase Bank is as the criminals who were writing checks on his account trying to steal his money by not giving him his money back. This is unbelievable… why do people still have their accounts with Chase is beyond me…
and another reason to not bank chase, they informed him, they got him his money back but it took the news getting involved to make them do what they should've done from start
Please, anybody who knows any good bank in America protects customers, let us know about the bank's name. wright in youtube which bank is good, please do that
If you can do it, I'd use a couple banks. Keep most your money in a good local bank or credit union. Then use another for day to day business. That will serve as a mechanical wall against fraud. That secondary bank for me was Chase. I caught them placing double holds on funds for major purchases. I opened a case against Chase with the Federal office of Currency Control, as I believe they are floating customers money to pad their mandatory liquidity ratios. If you're in Texas Frost Bank is really good.
I was hacked and $700 was stolen from my account. The bank said there was no sign of fraud. They told me to try contacting the person who hacked me… I was furious. I’m struggling now. I definitely wish I could have some help like this.
No probably about it! Leave Chase in the dust! Thanks for that story. If I'm ever in a city where Chase is doing business, I won't use them. Wells Fargo neither!
Sooooo the person with the account get money stolen and bank won’t help. But if the bank “accidentally” deposit money into someone account. Then the bank want their money back hmmmmmm.
Dealing with banks in some cases is like dealing with insurance companies. The second you need them to help you with something, they come up with any reason to deny your claim.
I’ve been with Chase since 1978. Never an issue. However, I keep my check and cards in a secure area. The customer never mentions if checks missing from his desk. Was it an employee who stole checks!
Similar here Midwest. Change sounds good. I have been known to call the comptroller in Chicago for a major case-paychecks of mine deposited to another’s account and bank not chase denied all. She took my call, I found attorney I won. Happy ending.
Maybe he never heard of it because he is older but since around 2005, people have tried to get copies of real checks and recreate counterfeit checks, they try to copy signatures and fonts but often mess up borders, serial numbers, etc. Whoever was in his house could have grabbed a few checks and made photocopies
I have been in banking for 25 years and this is a common enough scam. No checks needed exposed. It is literally as easy as just getting someone's info and obtaining the account numbers. That could be done if that person filed taxes online or set up any type of autopay out of that account. Phishing emails, text messages, online payments, etc. They get the info then order checks through a check printing company. Viola, they now have REAL checks on someone's acct. Given the fact the bank alerted the customer and he immediately went in should have been sufficient proof this was fraud. Not sure why that fraud investigator denied the claim, but I am glad they finally agreed to reimburse. This is why it is so important to make sure your information is secure as well as your online activity.
this is exactly what happened to us but at Wells Fargo. $8k. was reimbursed immediately. US national banks are deteriorating in quality. We do most are banking at a local bank and credit union.
Are you certain? Because SS checks are not paid in the month that a person dies, unfortunately. You may be eligible for survivor benefits though (an increase in your benefits to match your husband's.) Contact the nearest Social Security office, but be patient, always long wait times. P.S. Just saw how old this post is, but maybe it will help someone.
Not just bank. I canceled my barns and nobles renewal on 8/30/21(account closed) the next day the charge me for the renewal so I called them up for the 2nd times. One month later still didn't get $25. I'm sure I'm not the first nor will I be the last victim.
Never deal with chase bank. After being with this bank for years, they waited until there was a problem with our account while I was in the hospital and before I could get home they closed our account. I’ll never bank with chase again.
The fact that all the checks had vastly different appearances should tell Chase that these weren't stolen checks from this customer's desk drawer. These were likely counterfeit checks made using his bank's routing number and his checking account number. Anyone who is paid by check has all this information available to them and can produce counterfeit checks.
This is why you don’t trust banks nor report to them of accidental deposits into your account. You would think they’re there to protect while holding your money for you.
I have an inventory worth 100s of thousands of dollars but it just sits in a warehouse across the us as I have no logistic flexibility due to the absolute asinine nature of Amex who in spite of Never missing a payment, paying in full, and having a score of 700-750, I have never even gotten a credit line increase. They gave me a return payment fee on a balance I paid in full already trying to make me negative... and this has soft blacklisted me over a year. Insofar as I have tactile assets and a customer base, I decided maybe to officiate my llc and when I ddI i opened an account with chase. They denied me credit for my business being too new and gave me zero options to do anything. I’m so frustrated I could cry because I am not a churner, and I have tried so hard to show I need a higher balance. I was pifing 7k a month on a 2k limit time show I could handle more credit... they reduced my credit line to an unusable 1k. I thought chase would be reasonable but they are just as uncaring and unreasonable as everyone else.

Chase is the one who should of caught the fraud in the first place since this man hasn't used a business check since 2017 and only used debit card since. Chase should of put a hold on that check before cashing the check till they talked to him.
They actually DID catch the fraud and alerted him. Blows my mind they told him about it, and essentially said NOT ME!
One time my wife and I deposited 2 grand in our td bank account. The money never went into the account. Thank god we kept the deposit receipt. Even with the receipt they gave us a hard time but did ultimately deposit the money into the account. After that we keep all bank receipts for record.
Good job guys. Doing god's work
I wish 3 on my side could help me get my money back
Someone cloned by ATM card an removed 500 dollars in 5 separate transactions of 100 each and Chase refused to refund the money. F'k Chase, they are an awful bank.
I plan on closing my account with them soon. They use to be good till they start charging you for dumb reasons.
Appears that Chase was afraid of a little sunshine.
Right.
Chase does'nt want to admit to being negligent.
walk into the vault when its open and take money. I guess you can claim "it has a lock right?"
Omg .. chase is the worst. They wouldn’t give me my money back after being scammed thru Zelle.. I need Gary
Dam I’m going through that Rn and they won’t give it back their only giving me back half and the wait for the money to get it back is 14 days
So how did it happen? I know the checks looked different but how they pulled it off?
Chase tried to steal my home… NACA gave me the tools yo fight back.
Don't bank with Chase it's that simple their always mixed into some kind of nonsense
Chase did they same exact thing to me. I already warn them that I was leaving later this week
I would have sued the bank somehow
Happened at Wells Fargo to me......Ended up losing about $600 in the end.
Chase is almost as crooked as arpaio
Explain please
We always keep two active counts with other banks. When one screws us, it is an easy switch.
My fiancee uses Chase and they treat him like a criminal every time he deposits *his paycheck* from *his job* hes had for 5 years or when he tries to withdrawal any of his money. I cant convince him to change banks...
Leave him
@@Unclemike909 lol
How can I contact these people to help me with chase? Chase is holding my 2,300 dollars and refuse to release it even after they have verified the issuer if the check. I need help.
Banks do need to be regulated
I have been in banking for over 18 years and 7 years in the fraud dept. I can say they handled that ALL WRGN. Why this wasn't escalated to the hire ups. If it was then shame on you CHASE. The worse thing a bank wants or needs is a public shame. It causes so much damage to their reputation.
CHASE has had a BAD REPUTATION for a while now, I tell everyone I know to stay away from them!! I have all my family banking at credit unions, they know how to treat their customers!
Chase allowed 15,000 dollars to be withdrawn by this unknown son of a bitch. Chase better reimburse me of that money.
Cool they be getting s mad when you call for refund at the point I will move my cash to different bank
Banks will often do the right thing only after being exposed in the local news. That Chase couldn't figure out that these were manufactured fakes doesn't speak very highly of their intelligence.
3 of the 4 different pattern checks, have sequential check numbers as well.
@@IHeartQuilting2 What a nightmare that must have been. But a good ending.
Yea.. Dude, switch banks.. and.. Hurry!
How do i get in contact with someone from here i had almost the same problem never got my money back
As of 7hrs ago, Chase Bank is missing money and this video was 4months ago.
*WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON?*
Unbelievable! We were just talking about closing our account. That is all the push we need
Thank you 3 On Your Side!
I was hacked and $700 was stolen from my account. The bank said there was no sign of fraud. They told me to try contacting the person who hacked me… I was furious. I’m struggling now. I definitely wish I could have some help like this.
Currently going though this with m&t bank, they said it takes 10 days to investigate but somehow they were able to in just 1 day. Im furious!
I hope the man sues the bank and files a police report for theft
That is the bank pulling the fraud internally and trying to misdirect the customer.
No probably about it! Leave Chase in the dust! Thanks for that story. If I'm ever in a city where Chase is doing business, I won't use them. Wells Fargo neither!
They all are the same! Not a dime's worth of difference! Put your money under your mattress!
Or Bank of America
Bank of America is the worst
Any updates ?
Sooooo the person with the account get money stolen and bank won’t help. But if the bank “accidentally” deposit money into someone account. Then the bank want their money back hmmmmmm.
Dealing with banks in some cases is like dealing with insurance companies. The second you need them to help you with something, they come up with any reason to deny your claim.
I literally went through this 2 weeks ago. I got my money through multiple complaints which is ridiculous. FUCK CHASE
He hasn't used checks since 2017... that was a red flag.
It should be easy to find the person responsible since it was a cleaning service.
"Done Wrong by the Bank?" 🏧🏦
*Better call Saul* 👨🏻⚖️
Funny how when they get the spotlight shined on them, suddenly they're willing to help.
Will be closing my account thanks for the report.
Wow. Ive been watching so many bank frauds on youtube and most of the times - its about chase bank
Will be avoiding chase for life now thank you
How did you get this resolved? I have a very similar problem. They held my husbands last ss check right after he passed. I'm looking to find some help
Contact on your side or look for this person on Facebook
It’s not a he it’s a business account, he should have been on positive pay.
The fact that all the checks had vastly different appearances should tell Chase that these weren't stolen checks from this customer's desk drawer. These were likely counterfeit checks made using his bank's routing number and his checking account number. Anyone who is paid by check has all this information available to them and can produce counterfeit checks.
Wow after hearing about Chase Bank I'm soooo grateful I bank with a local honest reputable bank.
Where can I call you guys!?!?!
I got stolen $1,700 from my business debit card for food transactions & 1 purchased topping over $800.
Call the police and file a claim against the restaurant.
I just found this video because I'm trying to figure out what the hell a claim reversal
Same
And I am currently going through it with Chase with a dispute. They are THE WORST!
This is why you don’t trust banks nor report to them of accidental deposits into your account. You would think they’re there to protect while holding your money for you.
I bank with Chase Bank and have been very happy with their bank. I had a atm problem and within minutes it was taken care of.
Just cause you're white. Why not try this while black lmao
Latina 😁😁😁🤣🤣
“He’s probably gonna change banks” you’d be a fool not to.
Change to a credit union.
Chase is the absolute WORST BANK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVER! EVER! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are THIEVES!!!!
