  • Mysore/Mysuru! Welcome to the 3rd largest city in the state of Karnataka! We have 24 hours to see as much as we can, it's super warm in the south, supposedly monsoon season but fingers crossed, we've had no rain! We explore the city by electric tuktuk, honestly one of the BEST ways to see the city, would highly recommend!

    You had a guide who does not know much about importance of Mysore (but not his fault because he is just an indian but not belonging to hindu community).
    The statue was MAHISHASURA (A demon) who was killed by CHAMUNDESWARI (the GODDESS inside the temple). That is why she is also known as MAHISHASURA MARDHINI (the slayer of Mahishasura). You can google or check wikepedia to know more about that.

    19:56 Funny how you said it is unnecessary, we see it as art. You will see many old homes build that way in Mysore which may look over the top for someone outside. I'm from Mysore, the things Kings of Mysore did for Mysore and its people is 1000 times more than all politicians and social workers combined after independence. Don't judge a book by its covers.

      @vnykvinay Dude I am a Hindu too. Please stop spreading misinformation. God doesn't judge anyone's clothes. Please do some inner work. 🙏

    • @vnykvinay
      @vnykvinay 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This was in context off foreigners who are obviously out off country and not knowing how to dress appropriately when entering temples
      I wasn't saying Hindus are dressed inappropriately
      U maybe a Hindu and staying out off country too
      But there are no accusations here just an appreciation
      So I don't know where this thought provoked you to post such a message

    • @PerkitupwithB
      @PerkitupwithB 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have stayed in India since birth. I am simply saying clothes & God have no correlation. Decency is subjective. Anyway peace out ✌️

    @ 12:00 onwards the statue behind is of a Demon named Mahishasur (He is not the King) although the city is named after him. The Goddess Chamundi killed him and since he begged for her forgiveness she allowed the city to be named after him.
