Personally as a 1st-timer to bar-end mirror installs, I liked how you explained the parts in the video as I bought one of those cheap ones without any instructions. Thank you!
this helped me a lot! i got the barren mirror from amazon and there was no instruction paper included. I nearly ended up paying 10 times more than the cost of the mirror for an engineer. thank you!
Thanks man - the way that some people have mentioned with just tightening them all the way before putting them on didn't work for me either. The inside part just kept slipping inside the bar. What I found I did was a combination of both methods -- I pushed the nut all the way in to the "collet" and then hammered the nut down the "collet" a little more with a punch tool - I then put the assumbly together and tightened it all up as best I could and it was easier to knock it into the bar end with a rubber hammer and the "collet" caught on the inside on the bar and didn't slip when I then tightened it. In any case this video really helped me out so thanks!
I bought some of these cheap ones a couple years ago for a little cafe project and the actual glass came out of one of them while I was riding, luckily no cars were behind. I bought some ones from a Thruxton and they are tanks. They don't come lose and are easily adjustable.
wow i have been looking for forever on how to install these. i kept having trouble with the nut not spreading the collet. I guess i just wasn't pushing it far enough. Thanks!
seeing the kit i bought...(bar end mirrors) not knowing anything about the mirrors and what the pieces are for.. your video explained enough that now my 1000gsxr750 has mirrors. thanks
Despite all the negative feedback good video helped me install my bar ends no problem. Who cares if you use the wrong terminology the content was helpful
your tutorial was really helpful :) funny thing is it actually took me like 6 hours to change one of them! cause i fucked up the screw and nut, so i had to fin a replacement which is impossible SO I bootlegged it and bought something similar and thank god it worked :D and the other one took me 5 mins -_- haha
Just installed the same set on my bike today. My method was slightly different. I used a set of pliers to hold the nut and spun the allen until it was the right fit. I'm guessing it's a little easier to find the sweet spot my way.
my super cheap bar ends had the same easy-install barrel. I spread the barrel's collar by tightening the bolt in my hand(before inserting in handlebars) until it was flush when trying to insert in the handlebars. Then after half-inserting the barrel in the handlebars I mounted the mirror and started tightening the bolt again making sure the mirror collar isn't moving. Not sure if the guy in the video just overlooked this and made his life harder by manually spreading it or the barrels are just different
I also bought them, well... Second set already. My first set the mirror came loose in the back. The screws that are BEHIND the mirror came loose which are impossible to get to without removing the mirror itself which I broke by trying that :) But yeah I guess you get what you pay for. And I bought them again! I mounted them in another way but I'll be trying it this way now. I also had to cut some ends of my handlegrip, just because my clip ons are really short.
this helped. i couldnt get the damn sleeves to grip to where the nut would pull in. finally did. mine had to be so tight i had to hammer in the sleeve. otherwise the thing just spun inside it.
Well, after continuely trying I finally had some luck with the side I couldn't get on. I still am curious if you can find them in hardware stores though. haha Thanks for the installation, it helped a lot!
something has to hold the assembly from turning inside the bar or else there is nothing to cause the cone shaped nut to tighten into the spreader, this is why he is making it fit so snug, the problem im having is that i do not have a groove inside my bar for the line on the spreader to sit in
Why not just attach the mirror, slide it into the bar end and as you tighten, it pulls the nut into the spreader therefore tightening it to the inside of the bar end? Aside from attaching the mirror there's no need to mess with the nut or the spreaders before they go into the bar end.
Hi Nossorama, I was looking at your vid to check out the installation since I just bought a pair for my bike and I was thinking why don't you just pre-assemble everything before inserting the spreader in this fashion: BOLT > SPREADER > MIRROR and then insert with all parts loose, using the allen as you screw shouldn't it insert the bolt tight into the spreader and spread the tongs nice and tight without having to calculate with the hammer the perfect size for the spreader's tongs to be opened?
is it preferred to install them where the mirror bends downwards vs the other way around? if that doesn't make sense i mean installing them opposite way of which you did
Actually, I realized that I had done it wrong in this and switched them out later on... so it is better to have the mirrors "bending upwards." If you install them the way that I did in the video but want to change them, you can do so by loosening the two bolts that hold the mirror in place enough that the mirror assembly itself slips out, and you can just swap the mirror from the other side of the bike. This way, you don't have to take out the main assembly that clamps inside the bar... if that makes sense.
great video. I just bought a gladius and it has those mirrors installed. How do i get the little spreader out from inside my handlebars? i got the bolt out but that thing is tight in there.
Ths for the reply man. Have you considered any hand guards? I have put on several accesories on my gladius so far and looking for a nice set of handguards to add to it, but haven't been able to find any that actually fit the bike yet. Do u have any suggestions perhaps?
I don't. I actually have considered them just because I do ride in winter and would love some more protection than just my winter gloves, but I never actually looked into getting some so I don't know about any good ones.
Hi! After tighten up everything when I rotate the mirror on the opposite direction (opposite of the align nut tighten up) it loosens! Is it normal or is there any way to prevent it?
+Johnny Lloyd Yep! Almost 4 years now. One of them had to get replaced from a wreck, but they're still great. They do have a few rub marks on them as the black finish is a bit thin, but other than that I still love them.
I'm not familiar enough with them to know exactly. If it has metal bar-ends, they can be screwed off to get access to the bar itself. If your rubber grips cover the end of the bars, you would have to cut a hole in them to get to the bar itself.
shit man i got the same one but on ebay. the outer spreader ring dont fit. if its a tiny smaller will. should i just hammer it and make smaller or will i damage it
This gave me a good laugh. . But the way to do this is much easier. Simply put it all together, tighten the bolt until the nut gets snug and wont spin, then slide it in the bar, tighten it. shazamm! youre done. Please really no need for applause.
I actually tried to do that method when I replaced a busted mirror, but the nut failed to successfully spread the prongs apart on it's own, so I had to revert back to this method. It may just not work as well with these particular mirrors, who knows.
Your video was too late for me. I couldn't figure out how it went together so I simply went to the hardware store, got a proper expansion gasket to fit the bolt and tossed that "spreader thing" into the trash.
A very acceptable action based on my experience with these cheap mirrors. Clearly I was a noob and didn't know what I was even doing when I made this video, as shown by the comments.
I have the same kit but an 01 R6 and they do not fit. It has two spreaders but its too narrow with a single spreader and too thick with both spreaders. Anyone else having this problem?
"As you can see..." Umm, No I can't, You held the part below camera line. If you're going to the work of posting a video, make sure its worth your time posting.
My god this is painful to watch, it took me 30 seconds to fit mine. You thread the bolt into the nut and tighten until it grips the flange then enter it into the bars and tighten

Bar end mirrors are "THE BEST" . I had them on my FZ750N Yamaha , they were "FANTASTIC" . Get some ! !
Thanks man - the way that some people have mentioned with just tightening them all the way before putting them on didn't work for me either. The inside part just kept slipping inside the bar. You're welcome!

Cheers! Glad it was useful.
LOL. Loved the fast forwarding with the yodeling bit.

I have been having a hard time installing these same mirrors on my CBR 600rr. I will try using this technique! :)
Great video was about to give up on these mirrors but this worked👌
Just installed the same set on my bike today. My method was slightly different. I used a set of pliers to hold the nut and spun the allen until it was the right fit. I'm guessing it's a little easier to find the sweet spot my way.
Your video made my install painless, thanks man!
isn't it supposed to spread WHEN you screw it in and not manually spread the petals with a hammer?
Yes.
my super cheap bar ends had the same easy-install barrel. Gotcha!, you are right if one try to screw the bolt with the nut loose nothing will happen... Thanks! :)
hi thank you, helped me a lot because i was struggling whit that placement.everything in order now ;-))
this helped. i couldnt get the damn sleeves to grip to where the nut would pull in. finally did. mine had to be so tight i had to hammer in the sleeve. otherwise the thing just spun inside it.
Why is there no videos on the hard part.
Removing the inside of bar before starting🤨
No one shows how to remove the weights or cores.
Thanks a lot, I didnt know how to install them. Helped me a lot.
It's a fucking nut guy!! Again with the bolt confusion!
Is this for real , what an utter plank , Assemble the whole unit put in bar tighten with Allen key job done
Agree, no hammer neede at all
Well, after continuely trying I finally had some luck with the side I couldn't get on. I still am curious if you can find them in hardware stores though. haha Thanks for the installation, it helped a lot!
Have these, they are awesome!
I think that "spreader thingy" is called a collet.
Great video really appreciate your help
ABOUT FUCKING TIME....
Thank you very much. Great job explaining how to install!

wait.. I REQUESTED THIS VIDEO!!!!
yes, thanks alot. those pesky clips...could not even see them, as soon as i saw thats what it was, i left your video, because i like the challenge.
Why not just attach the mirror, slide it into the bar end and as you tighten, it pulls the nut into the spreader therefore tightening it to the inside of the bar end? Aside from attaching the mirror there's no need to mess with the nut or the spreaders before they go into the bar end.
The spreaders just spin round inside the bar, needs friction there.

Do you have any worse handlebar vibration after removing the stock bar end weights? And having just the mirrors on there?
is it preferred to install them where the mirror bends downwards vs the other way around? if that doesn't make sense i mean installing them opposite way of which you did

By the way, nice video, Thank you for posting it! :) it cleared perfectly what are the parts and how they work/assemble :D
Nice video man
did you have to cut the end of your rubber handlegrip off?
Real explanation starts at 8:40
great video. I just bought a gladius and it has those mirrors installed. How do i get the little spreader out from inside my handlebars? i got the bolt out but that thing is tight in there.
Nikolaos Velalis I used the end of an allen wrench to pull it out... I know they can get kinda jammed in there.
Ths for the reply man. Have you considered any hand guards? I have put on several accesories on my gladius so far and looking for a nice set of handguards to add to it, but haven't been able to find any that actually fit the bike yet. Do u have any suggestions perhaps?

Can you do the installation video for the clutch/brake lever ?
No issues with the throttle tube getting stuck?
thank you verymuch i can put because your clip video
Is this an SV650? I love the paint job
It's an SFV650. Basically the new generation of SV.
Ooh ok thats what I was thinking. Im digging it man, just put on shortie levers and these bar end mirrors on my 2003 SV so thanks for the video
Awesome video thank you! Any idea on how to tighten the two screws behind the mirror? It's got the shakes :(
Just tighten down all of the hex bolts as tight as you can. I haven't run into an issue with it.
+Nossorama you would think right?? They are behind the mirror....threaded bolts with no hex opening
Thanks worked on my R15
Hi! After tighten up everything when I rotate the mirror on the opposite direction (opposite of the align nut tighten up) it loosens! Is it normal or is there any way to prevent it?
Thanks for this video! I almost started to eat my mirrors! Just to shit them out:)
Is that a sv 650
Do not try fitting these to Woodcraft bars, they will not fit
do you still have those bar end mirrors installed? if so what's your opinion on them now?
+Johnny Lloyd Yep! Almost 4 years now. One of them had to get replaced from a wreck, but they're still great. They do have a few rub marks on them as the black finish is a bit thin, but other than that I still love them.
+Nossorama cool I'm going to order a set! not looking forward to removing the inner part of my handle bar 😣
Will I be able to do this on my Royal Enfield?
If it has 7/8' bars (which it should), then yes.
Can you get those spacers in hardware stores?
I have a honda nighthawk. What would I need to do to get the bar end mirrors to go on mine?
I'm not familiar enough with them to know exactly. If it has metal bar-ends, they can be screwed off to get access to the bar itself. If your rubber grips cover the end of the bars, you would have to cut a hole in them to get to the bar itself.
This guy once took 16 minutes to microwave a hot pocket. True Story.
Where did you buy them
Tried installing these on my rebel and it's damn near impossible!
took longer to explain than to install.. thx tho
Johnnie Ervin hhhhhhhh
shit man i got the same one but on ebay. the outer spreader ring dont fit. if its a tiny smaller will. should i just hammer it and make smaller or will i damage it

5:12 - That's what she said.
What are you doing?
Omg! Thank you!
how is the sight in those bar end mirrors?!
Sight is good. Almost eliminates your blind spot.
nice!! thanks.
bla bla bla bla bla bla bla................................
Josue Saenz hhhhhh imagine if he is installing turbo charge properly one week talking
this didn't work with my 2014 Honda CBR 600RR :(
Hmm... I dunno, sorry. It might be a different bar diameter?
I have the same kit but an 01 R6 and they do not fit. It has two spreaders but its too narrow with a single spreader and too thick with both spreaders. Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks mate :]
The "How NOT to do it instruction" would be the proper heading description for this vid - this is soo painful to watch
"As you can see..."
Umm, No I can't, You held the part below camera line. If you're going to the work of posting a video, make sure its worth your time posting.

cant see wath u r doin
use a rubber hammer
Ma quanto ci mette?!?!?!?!?! Ho le palle consumate dall’asfalto a causa della caduta dovuta alla noia di sto video di merda.
you wasted lot of my time
You wasted even more by posting this comment!
You can always skip through parts of the video to find what you need.

Toooo much talking in this vid .just go directly how to affix it dude .
Just put the fucking thing inside!!
That's what she said.
😴
To much blah blah...for real!
