Thanks for taking the time to not only make this video but leaving all your mistakes in there then showing the solutions. Humility and a lack of ego are great attributes. May God continue to keep you safe and bless you.
I have the same mirrors I was shocked how clear and solid they are very good visibility also, If your mirrors don’t vibrate I doubt there is anymore vibes through the bars 😊
I have the same mirrors but never installed them because I thought they were too small. Glad I came across this video. I have an older bike though a 94 CB1000 that doesn't have bar end weights so I won't have the same issues. I appreciate seeing the process, nice work man, keep the rubber side down!
Hi Michael, i had some on my gsxs 750... i took them off as i did not like having to look so low at such a small mirror..... i put sw motech mirror extension on both handlebar mirrors and i absolutely love it. I have the same bike in blue. Swapped out bar ends first week of ownership went through about 3 different sets and customized set ups but I like them better. The throttle side vibrates more due to the movement of your hand (I had one fall of mid ride). Side note you will want to get stock mirror stalk caps. It will clean up the empty sockets.
Hey, I think you are smart. It's all a learning curve. We don't all do this for a living. Great job. Now i know what to do if I order a pair. Keep the videos coming! ;-)
I thought that country you are riding in looked familiar. I live in that area. I worked in Woodstock for about 5 years. Great riding and driving country. I am considering bar ends for my Bonneville. Helpful video. Thanks.
Hey that’s awesome! 👏 It is beautiful here! Unbelievable roads. Now that I’ve gone bar ends I don’t even want those big mirrors in my face again. It was immediately satisfying. Let me know what you end up doing!
Great video. I have the exact same mirrors on my CB500F. No vibrations , as much view as the stock mirrors. I’m toying with the idea of putting them under the bars rather than over so I can have them point inwards and not have my elbow in the way for better filtering / lane splitting though
They are a great mirror for the cost. I can see how lower solves the elbow issue (mine is very minimal unlike the stock mirrors that were almost entirely blocked by my shoulder/arm) but would be worried about them being blocked by your forearm (maybe?). If you try it, would be interested in hearing how you like it or dont like it.
Bar end mirrors are just superior. They change the feel of the bike and handling but I can actually see behind me, they look fantastic and ensure you have plenty room when lane splitting. Your mirrors can make it comfortably, you go plenty space
Great video, that was very enjoyable to watch and I learned a lot along the way. Your thought process was the same as mine but you are more tenacious, I ended up buying more expensive mirrors (SW MOTECH) for my F900R.
Hi mate. Good vid. I've got a '21MT09 and i'm waiting on mine to arrive. Those look great but i think you should get some black short levers. Personal preference i guess.
I agree I think they would look great. Like the mirrors, I have a hard time spending money when what I have works fine. Perhaps someday I'll consider it. Thank you for the feedback :)
I just want to say that I'm really impressed with how thorough this video was. I'm playing with the idea of bar-end mirrors to go with a new handlebar because my bike also has welded-in threaded plugs on the stock handlebar, and I haven't found much for weights that appeal to me with expander plugs. Out of curiosity, did you ever try them so they were oriented over the handlebar instead of sticking out and adding width?
Thank you for the encouraging words :) I tried them briefly (not bolted) and decided two things.... I did not like that they were ~2" above my hands. Way too easy to hit/get in the way of safe hand movement. Also, when pointed inward you see your arm reflected back at you. They need some outward distance to work well.
Great video! Does it have to go bar then mirrow then weight? Could it go bar then weight then mirror on the end? Just curious. All with the longer screw of course. Thank you for showing the process. It's much better to learn from.
If you’re using rubber insulated bar ends, no. You’ll want to mount mirrors first. If you’re using solid weights then yes. But then it will come down to the aesthetic 👍
I don't know if you can move the throttle and clutch but you can mount these mirrors over the handlebars rather than inside. You just use one of the spacers inside the loop end of the mirror (if needed) and tighten that onto the end of the handlebar instead of using the inner expanding clamp. That's how mine are mounted as I have large handlebars. I have the same ones as in this video (for an e-bike) but recently changed them for a larger set that has clear glass instead of blue, still glare resistant but easier to see with. The old ones look tiny in comparison. Only problem is that the balls of the new set are near impossible to move, something another Amazon customer complained about before returning. I wonder if I got his return?
I got ‘em working great! Seems like it would be easier right? Lol glad you found a set that work for you 👍😎 other than the balls… maybe try some wd40? Wiggle em around to see if you can get them to loosen up?
@@sstressfl I was going to return them but then I thought that if I can get them in the right position, at least I will never have to worry about them moving. Knowing my luck I would replace them with ones that constantly got loose; "don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone".
