Gerry, a big hearted man with a touch of magic. Sadly missed by so many of us.
Ran away with the circus myself, had left school in june,was 16 in august.Hard work but enjoyed it,the memories will stay with me until my time here is done.
khalil Oghab just passed away. he was amazing man with a special acent of persian language which is we call Shirazian acent. I love this man and so proud of what had he done
Thank you for sharing although sad to hear his passing. Charles (my father) who did the photography along side Nobby also passed very recently so I have this vision they will both meet somewhere in the universe cosmos and reminisce on the time they knew each other making this short film.

Gday Gerry,I was the drummer in the band 1978-9. We toured all over England with shows in U.A.E.and Iceland,memouries for ever.Love the single rope,Chookas to all.
This is amazing, I saw Gerry Cottle’s Circus as a kid with my family in 1976, they visited Wood Green and they set up on the levelled derelict site just before construction work on the Shopping City started. We had to walk over bricks and rubble on the way to the big tent. This film has brought back to life those memories😊.

What an amazing video. This has taken me back to my childhood days. My Dad (Chubby Oates) was friends with Gerry, when we were kids (me and my sister) my dad would take us to visit the circus when it was in town (at Crystal Palace). Magical days!!!

Gerry , worked for you in 1985-6 ,what a pleasure it was after running from home, soon became part of David 's (?) clown troop , an experience I'll keep forever, Dessie, the Irish kid.
Excellent 😊. I saw Gerry Cottles Circus the year this was made, 1976, at Southsea Common. I remember it very well, especially Bean 🙂. Very exciting stuff back then.

worked at the 1977 circus world championships as a ring groom and always helped with the billing for gerrys christmas shows at sophia gardens in cardiff and with seaside special derick stevenson was the advance manager back in the day
