A lot of the time I watch your videos just loving the precision and thought that goes into the design, and how you manage to create tools that go far beyond what I would have considered practical, until you shows how to do just that. This time however I watch this an very quickly realized that this was not going to be a wonder of design and fabrication, but rather a quick and easy way to adapt a tool to do something you actually often need. And I love that too! While not as intricate as say the circular saw slide guide, this circle cut jig does exactly what it needs to do, and it didn't take a lot of time to make, and it can easily be undone taking out two screws if needed. Thank you for making these videos showing how to improve the tools we've already got.
@@rocketsland9539 I never said it was either of those. Just that I appreciated this video even though it's not as elaborate or advanced as some others. Sometimes it's nice to see an easy and quick solution executed well. It reminds us that not everything has to be advanced.
I admire how you modify the existing guide in such a simple, straightforward manner. That looks like a very serious jigsaw! It appears to be about twice the size of the one I struggle with. I guess one takeaway is that all of the carefully constructed jigs and stands in the world are not going to be much use if they're used with inferior tools. This channel is truly a delight. A combination of imagination and careful attention to detail. Every video is enjoyable and instructive. Thank you for doing this.
Another great time saver! Awesome! Now I'm going to have to find my parallel guides because I've never used them. Didn't really know how until now. Thank you
I made a plywood version of this. If the pivot is out of square with the blade, then the blade travels. Blade behind the pivot (out of square "acute"), the blade traveled inward until it bound up. Blade ahead of the pivot, the blade traveled outward until it bound up. Only when I got the pivot hole(s) in PERFECT SQUARE with the blade would it travel straight. I have a Ryobi corded jigsaw.
Victor, my Fiolent fret saw is 20 years old !!! I report: in the set there was a rod with a pin at 90 degrees (a compass was meant) and on the other hand there was a thread and in the set there was a plate with a hole. Take off the compass, put on the plate, tighten the nut by 6 and here's the ruler for you .. BUT !! It was made so flimsy and stupid that I have never used it in 20 years. (for the author of the video, a strip is inserted in the jigsaw sole, and in my version a 6 mm rod with a thread and 150 mm ..) Here the stiffness is at least 2 - 2.5 times greater than mine. So they probably plagiarized the idea and brought it to mind. And what are you right about, are there really no brainy men in the factories? This could have occurred to an ordinary homemaker, but why didn’t it occur to anyone in the C / B factories? For 40 - 50 years, mopeds, bicycles, motorcycles, cars had exactly the same appearance as in the first batch .. Bitch, 50 years did not change a single detail. Such a fucking country of the USSR. Dick works with him. Design, convenience? - No, let the capitalists do it for ourselves, we will work on such a ride, ride on such a ride, use it as is. And so they lived ..

Can I circular cut 10 cm thick lumber with the appropriate length jigsaw machine? I want to cut elliptical holes to 5 x 10 cm frame. But it has a twin. So, I want to put one over other, then cut through.
Does your jig saw blade cut on the up stroke or the down stroke? There seem to be a lot of jagged fires on the edge of the resulting circle. Clever jig.
AWESOME jig, instruction, and video production -- as ALWAYS! Pardon me, however, for catching a typo in the video description ( blame it on my years of translating and editing..): Change 70 mm to 70 cm as the maximum diamerer capacity of the circle cutter. As always, I literally enjoy watching your videos and I tell my friends it's like watching a wizard or a magician-- totally mesmerizing!
70 mm equates to 7 cm seems right considering the length of the parallel guide. i have never found a parallel guide measuring 70 cm (equating to slightly more than 2.25 feet) in length.
There are many and various circle cutting jigs on TH-cam my question is how many times do you need to cut a circle ..in 70 years I have never found the need

Aprecio muito seus trabalhos.
Did that guide come standard with the jigsaw?
This guide is a jig equipped on a circular saw.
Circular saws and jigsaw guides were interchangeable.
What if you’re not wanting a hole in the center of your circle, say you’re making a lid of some kind ...wood filler?
you could use double sided tape to stick a thin piece of scrap in the middle then drill the pivot hole in this
