Wow!! cannot believe the amount of people talking bad about Leslies. My store is average they don't push for any specific product. They test the water and based on that they suggest what you need. This video in particular is a great video with excellent explanations that made me understand the whole cleaning process. I spend a lot of money guessing what will get the pool clean (Y) thumbs up for this video.
I’ve been going to the same Leslie’s Pool Supply in Scottsdale on Chaparral Road for 30 years. Made the mistake of buying Clorox chlorine at Costco (trying to save money and thinking Costco tends to sell quality products), and had nothing but trouble. I have found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable.
The two of them are honest thrive. Did any other person catch the part about the green and yellow bags actually being the same thing.. too funny. The brush thing was also funny. Did the other stuge call in sick or was he in the back filling the green bag and the yellow bags from the same bucket. Lol.
This is a good vid in terms of info and advice. That being said my local Leslie’s is very pricey and they do Love to up sell as this area in the Northeast U.S. pools are only open for a few months a year. Their part prices are quite expensive (especially Polaris pool cleaner parts) and they often sell aftermarket parts for as much or more than factory parts.
Soda ash raises ph. For the chlorine to be effective at dealing with the algae problem at hand, the ph should be brought down to about 7.0 throughout the cleanup process. Your ph is already too high if you're having an algae problem. The ph can then be stabilized with soda ash when the pool is clear.
I wish the people at my local Viscount pool where I purchased this product was as informative as these guys. They never went through the process of what I was supposed to do or told me I needed to purchase the extra shocker and clarifier to add at those crucial times so all I did was dump the green to clean in and add some chlorine like the package said and nothing happened. Guess I will try the process again now that I have this helpful information.
Im going to have a green pool by the time I get my part from Leslies!! I have been trying to get through to customer service for two days in regard to an order that I have made to replace a damaged part that I received that STILL have yet to receive a response from to return! I need shipping status of my order - My pool is currently sitting out of commission because the part you sent was damaged and I still have yet to hear back from the RMA department to send back the damaged one. I just sat on hold again for 20 min only to get a recording to tell me to call back during business hours. This is the most awful customer service I have ever experienced.
Hi Jennifer, We can't handle customer service issues via TH-cam, but we'd be happy to connect with you via private message on Facebook to collect your order information and help.
Where were associates like you two when I visited Leslie’s twice last week and spent over $200 on products. Brought in water samples and none of these products were suggested to me.
Cleaned my pool in 24 hours with baking soda and some walmart pool chlorine only cost ten dollars all together. Went from green to blue overnight. And Leslie’s pool supply is right around my corner
Dylan Langley remove as many leaves as you can with a leaf rake...if they sit on the bottom..they can stain your pool. then vacuum to waste then shock and dropthen vacuum to waste again...then i adjust for chemicals
I went to Rockwall Leslie pool supplies and the guy told me to just add green to clean the shock it. that didn't work I went to another Leslie pool supplies and they said to add the black algae chemical and shock it with more chemical. they said I don't have to vacuum it just brush the walls and brush the bottom. that didn't clean it so they said shock it again and again. after that I took another sample and they sold me their box power power since I have already used my whole box of chlor write shock and clear aid. they said this will help if I have organic matter in it. so I did what they said and it it still a little green and very cloudy. the disability is about 6 inches. $300 worth of chemicals down the drain. I've got a lot of the leaves out but now I'm just gonna drain it then clean it and fill it back up since the directions Leslie's employees are giving me aren't clearing it up like they said.
I do not know if muriatic acid is safe for above ground pool. I maintained a public swimming pool for over ten years and used only 3 chemicals to maintain it. The muriatic acid to keep the PH valanced down. The PH controls how your chlorine is burned up and how effective it is. the ideal range to have it is around 7.0- 7.2 In this range no algae can live in it. The other chemical we used was calcium to keep the plaster in good condition, but it is not needed often usually during the winter I added it. Test your water daily they tell you to test it twice a week for a reason so you ran into problems and spend more money
I have small worm like insects in my pool we have had a lot of rain and it is still raining and it happened in 2 days. I have a above ground intex pool. From a very wet Johannesburg south Africa
I did all the steps they ask and my pool still green I spend $3.00 on chemicals nothing changed & when I went back to the office they said to restart again & buy the same chemicals???
I do not know if anyone else does this. I cut a 4" piece of 1 inch copper tube, and place this into the Skimmer Basket. The natural amounts of chlorine in the swim pool water, reacts with the copper tube, which (after 6 months), the copper tube has lost its' thickness, and is usually pin-holed and corroded. I am no Chemist, but there is a slow release of copper sulfate into the swim pool water. Copper Sulfate is a prime constituent in fighting-off algae. I do not endorse others to copy my idea, but I do know that this action this really helps. However, it is no substitute for the correct pH balance, chlorination, where these properties are still maintained. Would appreciate a reply from any Industrial Chemist, and his or her views on this.
I keep mine between 3-5ppm in the summer(100+ degrees here) and between 1-3ppm in the winter. Depends on where you live and the weather conditions(humidity, rain, tempature).
DRAIN AND START OVER. AND THIS TIME MANAGE YOUR CHEMISTRY PROPERLY. ABOVEGROUND POOLS ARE THE HARDEST TO MANAGE BY THE WAY. NO MAIN DRAIN AND UNLESS YOU UPGRADE YOUR FILTRATION SYSTEM TO D.E. OR SAND, YOU ARE SCREWED INSIDE AND OUT.
garbage I went and they sold me a whole cleaning kit and my above ground pool continued dirty later they sold me another kit and it didn't work either, I only spent $ 240 dollars for nothing
+GMC -- FWIW: If something's floating in your pool water then you want to add something that will bind up those particles, make them heavier than water, and cause them to sink to the bottom where your pool sweep/vacuum can suck them up. At Leslie's, it's the "Blue Stuff" (as I call it). Its proper name is Ultra Bright.
I agree with only one thing that they said and that is to clean you filter. If you dont you are fighting yourself. You also want ph at a 7.0 and chlorine at 30ppm for a green pool. You also need to brush and vacuum the pool. Algae can't live in a acidic environment. You DO NOT want to add soda ash that raises ph. Their is a product out that is called seaklear that is a 90day algae remover and prevention. It is a little expensive but it really works. You also need to make sure your alkalinity is between 90-130 if it is below 90 your ph reading is false and it will bounce around. Also what helps keep your pool blue year round is weekly adding 1lbs of shock per 10,000 gallons of water adding tabs and keeping your pool at a 7.4 for ph. Also in addition super shocking your pool once a month will help keep the algae in check.
Lol don’t trust the people in the store. I have a liner got it replaced they told me to use Chlor Brite for liners now they tell me after my liner bleached out do use powder plus. I was told chlor Brite was for liner pools now I’m told powder plus is for liner pools after I have a bleached out liner. Thank you Leslie kids
This is rubbish. I’ve been in the pool business for a while. For green pools use liquid chlorine at a rate of 5 gallons per 10,000 gallons of water. Brush the algae up into the water and run the filter 24 hours until cloudy clear. Fastest way to clear a pool. Ps. If your pool is completely green, don’t use bags of shock. It’s a waste of money
Oh these guys!!!!!! They only sell the most expensive crap on the shelf and it's always the wrong thing!! They will keep you coming back no matter what so don't deal with Leslie's AT ALL!!!
I hope anyone who watches this video can see the scam. As an attorney, this very well could be an unfair business practice under California Business and Professions Code, section 17200. All these chemicals are NOT necessary. All these steps are NOT necessary.
Lol shutup dimwit. Your not a pool professional so stop acting like one. You make a living off of lying. Go ahead and add toxic algaecides and cheap out on your pool, it will cost much more in the long run when your surface is sandpaper or someone gets sick. This is a legit treatment that avoids poisonous cocktails or adding metals into your pool. Leslie's isn't out to get anyone, why don't you get CPO certified or shut up and take the advice from someone who is

I totally agree that their prices are too high
Too high, cant answer simple questions and the service is terrible. They make u feel like youre intruding on their life by shopping.

I havent laughed this hard at a comment section in a long time

By far the best explanation I have seen or heard from anyone
I just went through the exact process with Leslie's In Milford, Ct. Worked like a charm and the pool has been clear.

Can I add the green to clean if I already added the shock?
Does the green to clean lower the ph level
Where were associates like you two when I visited Leslie’s twice last week and spent over $200 on products. Brought in water samples and none of these products were suggested to me.
what happened to the brush I've been waiting
Cleaned my pool in 24 hours with baking soda and some walmart pool chlorine only cost ten dollars all together. Went from green to blue overnight. And Leslie’s pool supply is right around my corner
Do u have a above ground or a inground pool?
would it be ineffective to shock my pool if it has a ton of leaves in it? should I remove the leaves before and water treatment processes?
Dylan Langley remove as many leaves as you can with a leaf rake...if they sit on the bottom..they can stain your pool.

bring your ph down to 7.0 using muriatic acid
alo300wsm sako what does the muriatic, hydrochloric acid for for the pool and is it safe for above ground pool?

Do I run my pump in filter mode or just circulate?
I hope someone answers this soon!
What kind of filter is that? I have filter, mode but not just circulate. (When you are filtering, you are circulating
I have small worm like insects in my pool we have had a lot of rain and it is still raining and it happened in 2 days. I have a above ground intex pool. From a very wet Johannesburg south Africa
Same process and products for a Saltwater Fiberglass pool??
A dash of copper sulfate baking soda chlorine tabs done. For my vinyl liner pool in ground 12000 gallons.

Such a bad idea
@@Dickfatkins87 Most probably, you have lived your whole life - in the negative! Not a bad idea at all.
Only thing missing was the ring and the hand touch to get the other wrestler in the ring to tag team 😆
I don't have circulate in my pump
‘Filter’
Should I shock my pool when it's at 1ppm
I keep mine between 3-5ppm in the summer(100+ degrees here) and between 1-3ppm in the winter. Depends on where you live and the weather conditions(humidity, rain, tempature).
Help how do I get my Intex pool turn blue again my pool is green

I leave in Canada and i have a pool, i want to get rid of it, how much it cost? to much pollution, money, time for the use of it.
Hi there, we operate in the US and don't deal in the removal of pools. Best of luck to you!
why is that when i add chlorine 90 or 65 my water turns the colour
garbage I went and they sold me a whole cleaning kit and my above ground pool continued dirty later they sold me another kit and it didn't work either, I only spent $ 240 dollars for nothing
With all the money they rob from people, you would think they could have afforded better acting lessons!
How do I approach a cloudy pool but all the chemicals are fine
Swimming pool tips and reviews by William kegley filtration, filtration, filtration. Some floculent and clarifier would help.

algae is not the only reason you can have a green pool... metal in water used to fill pool is our regular issue - need to use metal out.
How to approach a Green pool? From behind.
Yeah not trying to spend a fortune
Educate yourself and than tackle your pool slowly. Don’t trust anyone.
We're here to help :)
