After I played the original a couple of times I figured out the symbolism in Riku’s design. I figured that the lack of an X on the heart showed he hadn’t lost his heart yet. Also that the incomplete heart on the Keyblade was symbolism of it not being finished.
If KH1 is ever re-made it would be very cool to see the cut levels/content added, such as a cut level/phase in the final boss fight(: would love to see unused ideas

I love that Nomura wound up revisiting the Mysterious Old Man from Destiny Islands idea-Master Xehanort! And that detail about the heart-shaped blade for the Keyblade of Heart and Riku’s incomplete Heartless emblem....Nomura truly is a master of visual design. Fun content and video. at 4:10 you said sora is your fav, id agree, but Riku for me. I been telling people for awhile that in all of media, Riku has one of the greatest progression and character building ive ever seen. so Riku and accelerator( no index) are my most favorite

Interesting that merman Sora is one of the only alternate forms for Sora across all the games not to include his crown necklace. Even Pridelands Sora as a lion cub is wearing it.
You know what else nomura knows about that he just seems to not acknowledge? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DESTINY ISLAND PARENTS?! Why do we not have any idea of what soras mother looks like or even acknowledge if she’s alive or not by the time soras home?

Certainly Ansem takes a lot of cues from standard Final Fantasy villains. His true nature, and especially his role as the big bad, isn’t revealed until late in the game and he has a connection to a protagonist as well as manipulating the rival. He has various forms he uses for the stages of his final boss fight and is very easy on the eyes, especially when he connects to the End of the World ship creature.
I like old soras hair also when I knew Kairis hair would be shorter due to the art, i wished they cut it the same as Kh1 kairis hair style instead. I'm also more of a fan of her old color scheme then the pink. Lilac and white was just nice on her and different.
Actually Atlantica has been among my favorite worlds in kh1 due to the awesome battle theme and the big Ursula boss (which has great battle theme as well). And I don't mind the different movement system there either. Then again I've always been a bit weird.
Nomura's art style is so unique, cool, and cute all at the same time! I love the light, airiness of his hair and eyelashes. I love the anatomy, it looks so chubby/baby like, and mature all at the same time.
She’s by no means a bad character. She’s just been stuck in a role where she’s helpless to be an active participant in the plot, when she does appear. Even in KH3 all we see her do is watch the sunset with Axel, lose fights or deus ex machina a redo. We need to see Kairi not fail the Beckdel Test, or as least the spirit of the test since a literal interpretation could be passed by having two women spend a scene talking about shoes. Kairi needs to be seen kicking ass and taking names. After all the time she’s spent as damsel in distress, and a high profile character in the series, it’s the least she deserves.

She didn’t even end up at the Destiny Islands under her own agency, she was led there by the spell Aqua cast on her necklace. Sora, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Ventus, Terra and Aqua, they’ve all seen their determined fates and fought for their own future. Riku reconciled the darkness within himself. Roxas came to peace with his relationship with Sora knowing he wouldn’t be forgotten. Xion threw herself on Roxas’s blade to stymie Xemnas. Ventus actively fought reunion with Vanitas at the cost of his own heart. Terra fought from within his stolen body for twelve years against Master Xehanort. Aqua survived the Realm of Darkness armed with only the Master’s Defender, a single shotlock an a handful of spells, against her own reflection, Darksides, demontides etc.
Ooh, I think we might see World of Chaos eventually. I've been catching up on MoM lore and Union Cross, and I was reminded of the Books of Magic comic series (sidenote: I wonder if Nomura is a Neil Gaiman fan at all) where, and this is a brief summary, Heaven and Hell were going to have a second war over the Kingdom of Heaven, except it turned out that the mastermind of the whole affair was a personification of Chaos (and I don't want to spoil it, because it's a good read) who did it for a completely insane reason. But they're literally Chaos, neither good nor evil. Same with Order. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if something similar happens in the next game.

He absolutely could have given her the opportunity to fight and make a difference, but he just turned her into a damsel in distress all over again. She was kidnapped in literally every single main title game. Sure, the first two times happened when she wasn't a capable fighter, but she spent the ENTIRETY of the third game training...only to get easily snatched and taken again. Just to drive Sora to fight to save her. What a compelling character.

In my opinion kh is so clearly a videogame series that only works as a vomideogame series. Nomura is flexible wich is good..He knews he can at most plotout Character arcs an ending he wants to eventuly Hit and plotpoints of the curent arc but ultimatly needs to be able to change things for the game making it flexible to work on. Thats makes it an Amazi g Gameplayfocused game with a Good Story vs something with a Amazing plot and a terrible gameplay systhem like TLOU
