Chelsea Handler left something out of her statement concerning Butker’s mom. Butker’s father has a Masters degree in business and led a career in the finance industry. I’m sure he made a ton of money. Which also contributed to Butker’s success.
And, I'd challenge Chelsea to ask his mother which she's more proud of.
The dad paid for EVERYTHING but she never gives a man credit for what he does. If she somehow manages she down plays it like it's nothing special. She HATES to give a man credit for doing great things. 🙄 She's a man hater is all. She became the very thing she despised 🤣
@@daviedood2503She really made a terrible argument against him. I would have liked to hear him thank his parents for getting him to where he was before he married though. He only thanked his wife, and is clear in all his speeches that women are called by God to only be homemakers. Not all Catholics are this rigid in their thinking. Chelsea's rant was so radical and miserable however, she lost credibility on any points. (I lean to conservative, & feel radical anything isn't the best policy. Balance is key)
@@laurykristensen6239 my ex of 13 yrs LOVED watching Chelsea handler. Her stand up and tv show 🙄 I always put on a YT video w headphones when she'd come on. After 3 years of the split, looking back I can tell WHY I cringed so hard. I was still "blue pilled" back then w a single mother and time invested etc, but I actually think my ex was a Democrat feminist man hater in all honesty. Anything with the word MAN or Men, she'd just get quiet and make this stone face. Like distain or something. Was really weird.

I assume his likely stable earnings also made it easier for for his wife to establish herself as a physicist, which requires time to build a reputation. It's not something you walk into and two weeks later, get paid enough to support a child.

The Bible says to honor thy mother and father. They are both very successful, supportive and raised him Catholic. He only credits his wife in his success. Incidently, he was on his way to a successful career when they married. They broke up in college because she had career plans and wasn't Catholic. If he thanked his mom his wife would have an argument against him. He claims marriage and traditional Catholic roles are the only way to salvation. (he doesn't say a woman can't work, she just won't go to heaven 😮)

I'm definitely team Harrison I'm a 74-year-old grandmother with five granddaughters and one grandson I hope they all end up with husbands or wife who feels the same way Harrison does. I gave up on the Catholic religion decades ago but the morals and the teachings of Jesus will never leave me

Actually, it was the perfect time for Harrison to give that message to women because after completing formal education, the next big step is to reasses and reflect on life and order your priorities before making the next big step forward. Many women are confused about their roles in society building and focusing too much time and energy on being in the workforce. All Butker was saying is that there are other more important things in life than a career, and that is the nurturing, educating, and molding of the next generation of humans by being a mother and a dutiful wife. There is great honor and dignity in that, and sadly, modern society has turned the word wife to mean to be something that's derogatory to a woman, which Butker rebuked and revealed to be a lie.
I'm not confused, and very happy I never married or had kids, and I don't care what religious nuts have to say about it.

What he said is " you will have your most happier moments in life while being a mom ." And is is an absolute truth. It is not that yoy will be always happy while being a mom , but there is literally nothing in this world , nothing , that will make you happier than seeing your child for the first time, or seing your child's first smile, or watching him doing his first step. As a woman, that "did it all" I absolutely agree with him.

Having “it all” comes with sacrifices. Just to be clear. Men get by with minimal lifestyle. Women generally want a bigger lifestyle with the least effort. A man that provides that is going to work a lot. And if both are working…guess what’s getting sacrificed. Feminism has failed this country hard core.
Having it all, at the same time is a recipe for exhaustion. I hate to see working moms killing themselves and living miserable lives. We will always need women in the work force (there are many jobs traditionally held by women such as teachers and nurses).
Homemaker deserves far more respect, but women were in the workforce long before the feminist movement. Balance is what we really need. I hate to see women forced into either role by shaming them for their choices.
Five months maternity leave is nothing. In Canada we get a year and in Northern Europe it can go up to two years, and either parent can get take the maternity leave or divide the time between the two parents. Leaving a baby at 5 months in a daycare is just crazy.
I bet it’s “free” too. Why is the standard of living so expensive in Europe and Canada?

I saw a news clip with one, possibly two female students, but no more. Catholic high schools and colleges have always been plagued with secular instructors and students who don't really belong there.

What's funny is I run into more 40 year old single childless women that say that they would have been good moms than I run into married moms that say oh I wish I never had kids or got married and stuck to my career 😂
My grandmother is 99 and very close to the end. My family all know what her difficult life consisted of and love her dearly. Nobody cares too much about how her and our grandfather made themselves a success (a mini Forest Gump type story), but all they are truly valued by the love and family they built.
Nobody cares about single childess career women and they are forgotten quicker than anyone else after they are gone.

The problem with Adam here is, he didn’t correct any person that said “ I didn’t agree when Harrison said to drop your career and go be a mother”, and Harrison never said that.
He actually does say the way to salvation (heaven) is through marriage. He would not allow his wife to work, it's against his views on what women are called to. In other speeches by him it's more evident.

She is ranting about his speech and nowhere in it does he say that if a woman wanted to go out and work that she shouldn't or there was something wrong with that.
The question about whether you'd want to trade your life for Chelsea says it all. Every woman on the panel is smart enough to realize Chelsea's headed toward a dead end street with her backward life philosophy of pleasure over happiness.
I'd choose to marry an NFL player too. No brainer question for most women. How many would ever get that choice? Some women like to work, even if part time. Most just don't have the choice.

People constantly speaking from ignorance. Butker didn't say drop your career listening to the entire speech. He said that you should be more invested in and take more accomplishment from being a mother/wife just as a man should a father/husband than you should your career. Your family should be primary focus to someone who is living a Christ driven life. He is a Catholic giving giving a speech to graduates at a school overseen by the Catholic diocese.
In 1988, at my graduation ceremony for a private art college, we had a surprise speaker gal that went on and on and on about women's rights. Myself, other students, and family members all wondered what was going on. It was the strangest most out of place speech I've ever heard to this point in my life. We all spent years, tons of money, blood, sweat, and tears getting to this moment. And the speaker had nothing to add to our graduation. It was really disorienting, and disappointing. I and others expected the 'real' speaker was next that was going to provide life inspiration, congratulations, and words of wisdom as we go into the world.
It could have been a professional firefighter explaining the value of fire retardant building materials. It was just out of place and weird.

I believed the lie of feminism. I pursued my career rather than focusing on a family. I'm currently an executive director and I am working on transitioning out of the workforce and into the home. I had a baby late in life and I wish I had chosen the homemaker life much earlier.

Chelsea, to the best of my knowledge, isn't a member of any faith and likely has no understanding of how family is the cornerstone of community so it is likely that reason she is offended a man would suggest to women they prioritize where and as appropriate, family.
