When my frenchie was a puppy (she is 9 now) I taught her by leaving for 2 minutes then 5 etc. She has always managed with 5 hrs sleeping in her doggy bed. I tell her I'm leaving and I bring back a treat (went hunting). She's fine.

I’d love to see a video on appropriate exercise for Frenchies besides walking. What are your tips for indoor/outdoor activity? My dog isn’t really interested in chasing balls or toys. What else can I do? What’s safe and what isn’t? Are there signs to look for when he has had enough? There have been times we have taken long walks and while he is panting, he seems eager to keep going as long as I keep going. Do I keep going or do I stop? I’m loving the content guys! Keep them coming! #subscribed

I'd like to know how you can see they have anxiety. What sign to pay attention to? What does it look like.

I’m dealing with this now. I’ve only had my 3 month old boy for 2 nights. I had to leave him for 10 minutes. I put him in his crate, he seemed fine when I left home. I set up a camera so I could see how he was while I was gone. Well! He was howling within a minute of me leaving. I felt terrible watching the video, he was so distressed! My poor neighbours. Now I’m reluctant to leave him.

I walk my Frenchie for 45 mins and he still wants to scream when I leave the house.. If I do, because after walking for 45 mins, then tug a war, fetch etc
    , I want a nap. LOL

I need to crate my boy Dexter due to an injury~he can see me I put him in the crate while I’m making food ect...(short time)if I walk out of the house he cry’s & gets anxious~I haven’t left in 4 days~thankfully I have family here that helps if I need anything from shops~he has been in the main room with my family & other dogs around~unfortunately I can’t exercise him right now~he is on medicine~I normally don’t crate my dogs~I really appreciate this video~I feel it’s a mixture of both of the things you spoke about~I noticed this video is a yr ago~I will look to see if you show another solution if they can’t be walked right now~I usually walk him daily~Tysm🐶🐾💚🐾

What should you do with a puppy to avoid the anxiety in the first place? (apart from long walks to get them tired)

Make sure they get plenty of alone time, don't make a big fuss when you leave and come home

Love your videos.. do you have experience with introducing a puppy to a household with a cat already? is that something you can provide tips or creating a video on?

@@fenrirfrenchbulldogshow3338 Thanks!!! Another question - would you consider 8-9 puppy whining if he doesnt see you "separation anxiety?" would you deal with this behaviour the same as you would with separation anxiety?

I believe my Frenchie has it severely. I’ve had her for 13 months (since a pup) and has never been left alone for long than a minute. When she see’s me especially put on my coat to leave she will bark at me and start pulling on my coat with her teeth, she does with my children and friends too. Unfortunately due to my own health I have become more housebound so she’s so used to me here and goes mad even if I go to put stuff in my wheelie bin. I have to find dog sitters when I have Hosp appts and things. I know I’ve made it worse by me being on the house 99% of the time but it would be so much easier if I could leave her on her own for about 2 hours. Atm along with dog sitters I have friends or my children walking her as well. I’ve spent a lot of money on the Kong toys, treat dispensers and snuffle mats and she will stay and play with them if I leave the room but is not interested at all if I go and put things in the bin again. I’m now terrified of leaving the house as I really don’t want to upset her as she’s a fantastic dog and so well behaved otherwise, it’s my only issue. I wonder if it would be good to get a dog trainer in at this point?? She gets so emotional even if I’m out for 30 secs or as soon as someone I know or myself puts their coat on to leave. 🤦🏻‍♀️😭😭
