Would love to see some bracket racing videos! I quit heads up racing about.6 years ago and went bracket racing. Best decision I ever made. You’re not always chasing an E.T and not leaning on your stuff as hard. If it’s not the money, it’s the time it takes to keep up with a competitive heads up car. Honestly, I have more fun bracket racing than I ever did grudge/heads up racing.
Hard break man. That sucks. Would still like to watch other videos though. Bracket stuff could include chassis knowledge, tire pressures, etc etc. Lots to discuss and share along with hanging with your buddies at their events. You guys are locals so it’s extra cool to watch these journeys.
crazy suggestion but you might try doing fire rings on the block and heads. I've heard fire rings help a lot when u start pushing towards the 1200-1500+ hp range range. adding fire rings creates more seal between the block and heads. ur standard MLS head gaskets probably just don't cut it anymore with combination of the amount of compression you have the amount of horsepower ur wanting to make. but adding fire rings would definitely help (if the head gaskets are the issue). but keep at it with the high compression deal, would love to see u get that all figured out. I'm in the process of building a high compression boosted 5.3 iron ls, although my compression ratio isn't as radical as yours, 11:1 compared to ur 13:1 (although u have given me some ideas about a high compression 427 ls in the distant future). anyways, hope everything works out for you man, good luck.
Sorry, bad break. Would like to see the car run with your dads engine. Love your channel. You post a video and I'll watch it. Jon 10 new videos on youtube, I watch yours first.
I just do not understand why amaricans are so obsessed with using high compression ratios on turbocharged motors. Large turbos loves to boost. High compression ratios always produces very high peak cylinder pressures and this is, as you now know, always very hard on motors. In my country exotic fueles are at a price level americans can not even imagine, so we use pump fuel, low compression ratio and high boost for horsepower. This lowers peak cylinder pressurs but delivers very high average cylinder pressure. This is easy on motors and budgets, even the "high" horsepower ones. Just IMO.
this guy is also trying to run 4s in the 1/8th mile, not an easy thing to acomplish on small tires man, high compression boost motors have been done before successfully, but like u said, it can be hard on motors, but with good supporting internals and a good tuner, u can make them last. plus, this is a straight up drag car, he runs methanal and no radiator, meaning it gets hauled to the track, and drives in a straight line. it's a race car, at that point, gas prices don't matter. plus think about it, he made 1200 hp on 15 pounds of boost, with a little 370ci V8, i don't know what u know about V8s, but in the drag racing world, that is tiny. high compression boosted motors work great IF your tune is on point. the higher the compression the less room there is for error in your tune, and everything runs hotter, luckily methanal helps get rid of a lot of the heat the builds up in the combustion chamber, piston, and in the cylinder.
Shit, what a bummer. I enjoy your content, and will be right here waiting for new content when you're ready again. I totally get where you're coming from. Take some time away and get your head right.
@@NoNameRacecars in the long run it can cost more throwing money at stock block stuff than just building a decent dart block piece, I figured that out😂 There’s a good amount of guys going fast safely with stockblock stuff but 9/10 they’ve went through 15 blocks to get there and they’ve learned something new every time it went boom 😆

people dont subscribe just for heads up, its about your journey. ill still watch your bracket racing

PS. u might also try 1/2 inch head studs if u havent already.
That’s a bummer man. I’ll miss the content for sure. It would be cool to see your Dad racing his old car at least once. Thank you for the videos.
Sorry to hear man, keep your head up…love the channel.
Sorry to hear man, Sometimes it's good to get away from it for a while and come back with a fresh outlook. Love the channel bro
Seems like we’re in the same boat. I need to take a break from this too.
Well dang that sucks. Be interesting to see how she runs with the 415!
Sucks to hear Jon, keep your head up ready to see an epic comeback!

what u think is 12:1 static and 10:4 dynamic cr too much for boosted engine with e85? maybe max 25psi boost for 700-800hp in six cylinder engine

Sorry to hear that I really like the Camaro
Lawnmower racing? Cheaper and even more dangerous! 😐
Missed ya bro
Finally a track day!!
time for a good motor !!!
Why don't you put a good motor together?
I spent all my money buying shitty motors 😂
@@NoNameRacecars Well I'll buy another sweatshirt then to help out.
