    It's probably too late to tell you now, even though the French Doors are expensive, Steel Rollup Doors are pretty cheap priced at about $150. They are readily available on Craigslist. They aren't a bad idea, because leaving the mower outside in the weather can shorten its life dramatically... 😷😷😷😷

Under the new shed roof that you are building you could add a window that will also help keep the shed nice and cool in the summer. May Yahweh continue to bless the both of you. Thank you for being a blessing to us and for sharing your wisdom with us. Love you guys! ❤

    Riding Lawnmower - Working Smarter, Not Harder. Put your energy into the projects you have lined up.
    Liking your idea of a side shed for the riding lawnmower. If you are making the shed to just fit the lawnmower, consider designing so you can easily remove the outside wall, should you decide to expand the shed. You could still leave your support post and then add on to that. Dang... your place is looking nice and I am so loving how you are making a home for your family. Looking forward to the projects on your to-do-list.

    I opted to add vents in my small wooden shed because it was only 50 dollars extra to add them. If not it would be so hot inside. I still insulated the shed and in the winter I designed something that covers the vents from the inside so it doesn’t get freezing cold inside the shed overnight. Maybe I’ll install a small heater in there too.

    Looking good! There is always something to do around a home. With the shed roof you can also create a water catchment system for your garden, than you do not have to use too much of your well water. Check first if you are aloud to do the system, there are some county’s that do not permit this.

    Um, an open sided shed roof addition will keep it dry so long as the rain is coming straight down, so, gotta ask how you will protect from blowing rain? Or might you get a cover you can pop on the rider mower in the event of rain? Also, during the winter, how will you keep snow from blowing in? Or, do we just have to wait and see? :0( Oh, and it just occurred to me, once you have the back area under a roof providing some shade, you could also pop a vent or two into the bottom of the back wall and pull in some yet "cooler" air. Or was that the plan all along? Love to watch your projects ...... I get movitivated to do stuff. (I just made up that word by accident, but it sounds good.)

    You are fighting 2 problems: greenhouse roof which provides great for daylight but which is impractical for a shed roof. It's too hot and will fade the contents of the shed. My advice is change it out with a plywood roof. Problem two: put a larger door on the shed so you will not have to put a lean to on the door or two doors that open out. Look for a used door. Keep that beautiful mower in the shed. Outside storage is not practical from a prepping standpoint.

    Yeah I agree check FB MARKETPLACE or the FB yardsale groups in your area... it’s AMAZING what I have found from contractors purging and at 1/8 the cost! Granite sinks, vanity mirrors, wheel barrows you name it! Sometimes rich people buy a new house and renovate out the builders choices as soon as they move in, so brand new stuff cheap! Even grills, lawn stuff, new clothes. It’s a great resource.

  • @themoviemaniac8416
    @themoviemaniac8416 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you could have went with a wider door, a roll up door isn't too much. Also intake vents are normally installed on the side that gets the most shade after about noon.
    You could put in a solar powered fan to help the air flow, and use some of that green fabric shade cloth to reduce the sunlight coming in the roof. You still have plenty of light, and much less heat, though you might have to replace it every few years.

    Yes!! I say do it 8ft, that way you can hang your ladders horizontal either on the shed wall or a bracket set up between the lean to posts. I am currently adding something similar to my pond arbor, to have a covered sitting area, so I can leave cushioned chairs out there and they stay dry! I wish I could have scrounged roofing but had to buy expensive clear pvc corrigated roofing, which I guess is ok cuz it will look nice at a feature area. I also noticed that your shed is about the size my Girl Cave will be😂🤣, just so I have a compost toilet/bucket in the back 40😂🤣😂so why not call it a "Girl Cave" and add a campstove and chairs/table and have a tea station!?!😍 the "back 40" is only a steep incline of 1/4acre, that's tiered, but it's my land and I'm claiming it!! Yeah, like someone else said, wouldn't at least one wall help protect the mower from the weather... maybe a little shed of it's own. ..

    How about an add on wood shed/That would also cover the lawnmower?

      I’ll be putting a wood shed up closer to the house, but it won’t be big enough for the mower too.

      No. No animals. We travel too much, and also Elizabeth can't eat eggs, so there's no purpose.

    Condensation?

    • @LiveSimpleLiveFree
      @LiveSimpleLiveFree  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no problem with condensation. But if there was, the vents would help. The main reason for the events is to help keep the heat down.

    If there was a side that stays shaded i would put those bottom vents on that side!!! Maybe cooler air all the time then maybe cover in winter with plastic or something.💞💞💞💞😸😸 love the idea of greenhouse sheetin for light!!! May do that on my shed!!!!
