    Not only did Parks have 59 winners, but she also only had 26 errors. So pretty clean for a 2h 44m match. Take away her serving stats, and she had 44 winners to 18 UEs off the ground. Pretty impressive. That's not ballbashing. That's smart attacking tennis.
    This is the week where Alycia announces herself to the tennis world.

      I saw her at a local tournament earlier this year in Los Angeles and though she lost in the final, i was impressed with her game.

    Parks hit 59 winners to Sakkari’s 9. The match was almost entirely on her racquet. She is BY FAR the most talented of all the young Americans on the tour, and if she can improve her return of serve she will be a star.

    In just her third WTA tournament, she is doing great. I saw her potential earlier in the year at her first tournament but her inexperience essentially cost her. However her coach seem to have worked out the kinks and she is now playing a more confident, fearless game. I am happy to see her progress and wish her all the best.

    If she can stay injury free and focused, Ms Parks has the game to be to be future world #1. Winners from every shot, aces, volley's AND athletic build? Sloan Stevens 2.0 forehand as well! Whew I'm impressed. You go Ms Parks!

      You dont watch much tennis if you think that - she regularly gets beaten in ITF tournaments. Literally any player in the top 500 is capable of stringing together a couple of big wins because womens tennis doesn't have the same consistency as the mens game.

      I remember Osaka being regularly beaten on tour too. I mean she was all sorts of a loser once. But u could always say a player has potentials. Anyone can lose once. People just need one breakthrough. Parks has some potential.

      To be fair, end of match meets by women players are almost always icy brief like that!
      (Not being a chauvinist)... They should take example by the guys now adays who in general greet each other at the net in a much more friendly manner.

You do have a couple of female players that make the worst handshakes ever (Giorgi and Ostapenko) and you also have some horrible handshakes in men's tennis (Moutet and Andreev almost came to blows last week)

    Alycia made Sakkari looks like Bouzkova unbelievable. Sakkari made less unforced but those she made were in keypoints and paid the price.

    Excellent match. Parks was stellar with hard hitting groundstrokes that Maria has no answer to. From Qualifier to a Quarterfinalist is one step to a bright tennis future. Amazing to see her rise from the bottom. Rooting for her to beat Barbora!

    Wow! She just needed a little bit of confidence and she is rolling! how wonderful for her. I was hoping she didn't have a let down after her win against Pliskova and she didn't! How exciting! Her ranking should go shooting up! Back in the day players used to get bonus points for beating top players. I think they still should have that, b/c the rankings will just reflect how far she goes in the tourney but not the people she beat along the way. Her confidence is gonna be soaring after this win!

    Sooner or later, there will be foot fault call on that jumping serves. Some chair umpires and lines person are just more strict than others. Players have to play by the rules. The rest of her skills and ground strokes are things of beauty.

      Not so sure about the rules. But from what I can see, her feet were already inside the service line when she hit her serves. So that could be an issue.

    Really great game! Will definitely be a top player if she stays mentally tough. Love her controlled aggression.
    One weakness you can see on a few shots is her backhand but she can definitely clean that up

    Just seeing her play for the 1st time and like her game a lot. Has all the shots, and will move up the rankings soon. Would like to see a rivalry going with Gauff down the line to put back US women's tennis on the map.

    Sakari is one dimensional player. Only smash from the baseline (eventho her shots are not that strong) and doesn't use variety shots. It worked sometimes because of her athleticism, but now other players already got used to it.

    1. Heavy and rocket like groundstrokes
    2. A monster serve

      @@axelltullup2638 I don't recall anyone saying that Stephens, Townsend and Keys were the next Serena. I have heard the Coco comparison but never that she is the next Serena. Fact is, Every woman on the WTA aspire to be the next Serena (ie. Dominant Champion). Either way, I am looking forward to see who Serena's predecessor is because she is definitely coming....eventually. The women's tour is wide open

    This girl is so graceful in terms of tennis. The most graceful player so far is Sloane Stephens and she's is just like her .... Smooth, grace d fluidity in shots.... Watching her play is as effortless as her game
