I really enjoyed this episode. I'm coming up on my first year with my Lee single stage breech lock. At this time I reload 9MM, 380 ACP & 32 ACP. But, I barter with friends for 223. Rem & 300 Blackout. A lot of people think a 380 ACP feminine load, but with a Speer Gold Dot JHP & a +P load thru a 16 -20 " barrel. To end: when you seat a new primer in check with your thumb to see if your primer fully seated the Lee Press has had problems with that.
Do it. I reload 7.62x54R, 7.7x58mm Japanese 6.5x50mm Japanese, 7.92x57mm Mauser, 6.5x55mm Swedish, 9x19mm Luger, 7.62x25mm Tokarev, .30-06, 5.56x45mm NATO. For odd ball cartridges it's a must!
Surplus gun builds and reloading?... BFP... Will you be my long lost questionably legal Uncle? Good video by the way. I still have my Lee single stage because I'm too much of a cheap bastard to get a D750XL but I've loaded easily 10,000rds on it. Side note will you do videos on reloading 5.45×39mm using 5.56×45mm brass?
Welcome back! I agree, but I started with a progressive, the Lee Pro 1000 in .45 ACP. I had TOO MANY things to learn at the same time! Part of the issue was just not even knowing the terms. I encountered problems with priming, and so I eventually moved that process off to a single stage. Right now, as I'm really learning 7.62x25 and .32 ACP, I have TWO single stage presses set up.
Hello I’m new to reloading , I have a Hornady classic single stage press to start out with and i just bought an apex 10 that i want to use for 10 mm. I followed the same logic that you indicated your video so keep up I the good work
Looking to get in to reloading, both pistol (9, 40, and 10) and rifle (5.56, 270, various .30s, and 350) cases. For rifle, I am thinking of doing two press set-up assembly. First would be a single stage to decap, then tumble, then back to the single stage to neck size, following with a trimmer. Changing neck sizing dies to match caliber. Second press would be a progressive set up to prime, charge, seat bullet, and crimp neck. Changing the turret with dedicated dies mounted for each particular caliber. Buying a new caliber components and turret set up each year until I have what I need to load for the rifles I have. Would Lee's loadmaster progressive be acceptable for a budget minded, able to grow set-up?
I would recommend Lee Turret as first press, much faster reloading than single stage press and price is not much higher than single stage, but I have started with dillon 550 and bought single stage for precision ammo, cause I have really good deals for both
@@BabyFaceP Speaking of it was a police SMG for a fair bit. How's the barrel? I've heard of H&K made MP5 barrels going 200,000rds but I have no idea how true that is. Also can roller lock guns feed +P safely?
this is a good a video BUT.....turret press. the hybrid of single stage and progressive. i can doo 240 - 300 rounds an hour on a LCT with reverse rotation kit.
I started with a Lee Hand Loader then moved to a Lee single stage for when 45/70's were $25 a box! I haven't used it in a while, it's a lot of work, and I still have plenty! You're right it's pretty hard to screw up with a single stage. One more thing is if you're not a fisherman or you don't have patience keep buying your ammo. If you want to shoot then "Learn to Load not Code" Thank you.
@@BabyFaceP Mine ended up a couple times against a wall! Fortunately they made them tough! LOL! Again thanks Patrick. PS. Yeah reloading videos are good because of newbies and people like me that need a refresher. That and the powder charts I got are ancient history. I was using 60 grams of Nitro Powder with a 350 grain hollow point with a my 45/70. I don't know if Nitro is still used.
Here's the press that I started with- bit.ly/3lyIgL0
And the Dies to go along with it- bit.ly/2EFswVW
Yes, more reloading info. I’ve considered it for years.
Thanks
I use progressive for all my semi autos .223,9mm ect...
I use single stage for revolvers and bolt guns .357, 308 ect...

Good stuff BFP
I have a ton of non standard caliber rifles. I REALLY need to get into reloading.

So... Would a 4 hole turret press be a happy medium? I was kind of thinking of starting there for 9mm and .223 (I shoot a bunch of those).
If money is tight-ish, go for one of those 4 hole presses, if you have the funds go straight for a Dillon.
Thanks for the insight. Very helpful.
Cool video. Love my XL750.
How's the newer 750? Worth upgrading?
B face I found out about you on hank’s channel, seen every episode
How do i make 762/39 from 303 British

I’ve got the Dillon 650 xl it’s definitely a game changer
9mm on a Dillion would be sweet! Please do that video!
Absolutely will. We'll have to feed the MP5 when it's build.

I totally forgot but I had a handloader too. No idea where that thing ended up.

I got my Dillon 2 years ago to mainly load butt loads of 9 & 45. I’d interested in starting to load 223 & 300 at some point.
Could you do a video on how many bullets you can reload with 1lb of gunpowder for pistols
Easy answer, 1lb has 7000gn. So take your powder charge and divide 7000 by it.
@@BabyFaceP thanks this definitely helps
California prohibits internet ammunition buys, so California gun shops have less competition... hello reloading hobby!
👍
Started with a Lee hand press
