Yeah, gun to my head I'd have to pick Stinkor as my favorite figure, but Zodac is a close second and character-wise my favorite. I always loved the mystery behind him and his great look.
Got this figure for Christmas and he’s my favourite one so far. Very solid figure, tight joints, no quality issues, very bright red colour and also clean apps. I think the fact that he has a simple design is to his credit, it’s very retro and timeless. Always has been a favourite but even more so now.
Zodak reminded me of a (personally prefered) take on DC Comics Metron, who himself seemed like a take on the already mentioned Watcher. But, I really wanted him to take in a Green Lantern Corps/Silver Surfer role with more cosmic adventures showing us more of the Eternia solar system and Galaxy.
Zodak has always been one of my heavy favorites, there's something almost iconic about him I don't know if it's the helmet or the cool armor. Maybe both. great video Dan!
Him and MAA were the original "techno barbarians" which really set the style of MotU apart from everything else. They have always been my two favorite characters.
Loving Wave 3. Still haven’t seen wave 2 in store so I know I’m in for a wait. My kids got in to MOTU just before the Origins line came out so I am thrilled they are doing this. Universal release would have been better, but hey, just glad it is happening
The no text in the international comics is my only complaint, a bad move by Mattel imo, they could have at least just put the English text in the comic book
Exactly. Removing the text doesn't solve or fix anything. People who can't read english still can't read the comic. But now no one else can either. Pointless
@Dark Woods: I disagree. The stories in these comics are so simplistic, and based purely on the visuals alone you can easily follow the story. The dialogue is completely unnecessary. I actually prefer them without the text, because it obscures the art.
@@Rocket1377 I disagree. I'd get more of a feel of the characters if I knew what they were saying. Pictures are good for just action but don't tell me anything about the characters personalities or attitudes. I know the mini comics are simplistic but lack of dialogue accentuates it all the more.
I can't wait to find this in the store. What? No comparison with the MOTU Classics version? MOTU and Masters of the WWE Universe would be great to display together.
A vintage Greyskull throne sits perfectly on top of the laser turrets from the Talon Fighter. A little hot glue makes for a cool makeshift Cosmic Chair for Zodiac...🎉
Glad to see you back and hopefully well, Dan! He-Man and Skeletor were cool already, but Zodac and Man-At-Arms really sucked me into vintage MotU back in the day. In fact, looking for a vintage or commemorative Zodac back in 2010 was what made me aware and sucked me into Classics. Ended up owning at least 4 or 5 Zodacs from that line (China eBay sellers be praised) for various custom projects among all those other figures. I wish I could get that exited about Origins again, but somehow it feels like a step down. Still might get the 8 back figures to keep MOC, because the vintage inspired cards were all that was missing from Classics to make them the ultimate MotU line.
The only problem I have with removing the limbs on Origins figures is they always pop off when I put them back on. Teela had this problem so I had to buy another one. I use the bad arm Teela as a Goddess figure. Wave 2 is yet to hit stores where I live, but I'm waiting for other stores to get this. My Wal-Mart's have all of wave 1.
You don't need the text. The stories were clearly created to work with the art alone, without needing any dialogue. It's similar to the Silent interlude comic from GI Joe.
@@Rocket1377 I do need text to enjoy them. I can enjoy the art as is. I can't enjoy the story. Especially when you can seein the art that characters are supposed to be talking to each other yet nothing's coming out.
Hitting shelves soon? We haven’t even gotten wave 2 yet and this is wave 3. I haven’t seen a single wave 2 figure on the shelves at any Walmart. Cmon scareglow!!!
I just don’t get why International release has no English bubbles on the comic . Pretty sure people in england , Canada , Australia, 90% of Europe , etc can read English !!
yes ah, i see BBTS has just updated me on the second round as it were..... of my Origins Zodac, She-Ra and Robot preorder arriving soon so yes a second chance at those ones. :)
Agreed idont know too if it's the head sculpt or the dark eyes. The only thing is white design on the armor could have been tab bigger. I believe that would have enhanced zodiac even more. Now back on the box did zodiac have white gloves. Any way good video Dan as always.
And there was a black one in the accessory weapons packs. Unique is overused/misused word. A massed producted toy weapon is hardly unique. Snowflakes are unique.
@@scockery Well, I wasn't trying to be too pedantic about the meaning of the word. I just thought that Dan, being a MOTU expert, might know if Kobra Khan's weapon was perhaps slightly different from Zodac's.
@@scockery But the same mold though. So maybe Dan meant unique amongst the original wave of figures? But didn't most of the characters have their own weapons? I guess he just forgot about Kobra Khan. I only noticed because KK was my first MOTU figure.

My all time favorite character. He does his own thing and nobody messes with him.

@@KomradeKrusher very cool and interesting.
This line continues to impress. Great review!
You can tell Dan is a Marvel guy if the first comic book comparison he makes is to the Watcher and not Metron, whom Zodac was modeled after.
I love that at 5:56 you showed the exact mash-up I was imagining at the start of the video!
Great review Dan! Glad you’re back, hope you are well my friend.
Just got mine today from Amazon. The packaging was JACKED UP! He’s sold out though so I can’t return him until it can be replaced
My Walmart hasn't even got wave 2 yet :(
Same 🙁
Same (last time I checked)
Glad it's not just where I live.
Same... but I was able to get them on Walmart website
same & I am from Puerto Rico.
The Cosmic Enforcer, who enforces if he feels like it. He was indeed a villain to me as a kid.
I wish they would release his "chair" he reminds me of Metron from The New Gods from DC
That's exactly where they borrowed him from. Can't beat Kirby.
He's Metron with the chair and all.
Back in the saddle for Pixel Dan!
More like Metron, given the chair ... which has _always_ been modelled on the Castle Grayskull chair. Look at the cartoon or the 1982 DC comics.

Does his skin tone match He-man's? You can make a hairy chested He-man!
I would like to know that too.
@@GASH_one It does match. I made my hairy He-man. :)
😭 that was my first motu figure way back when... actually even my first action figure.... 😁👍
5:58 Quick!!! Put the Roman Reigns head on that body and you have an instant Keldor
the colors and the sculpt on the vintage is so much better
It's Masters of the Universe's "Watcher on the Wall"
So from a play perspective how much fun can you have with a figure who only watches the action 99% of the time?
Zodac was always one of my favorites.
I never had the vintage Zodac when i was a kid but i did get Kobra Khan, till this video i never knew that they used the same blaster.

I think Zodak was the 1st figure I wanted ever.
For his neutral special, he wields a gun.
Probably my most sought after figure from this whole wave
Always dug this guy. Looking forward to his US release!
now i want a zardoz MOTU crossover figure.

Great figure, but Zodac has the WORST gun of any action figure. The way the handgrip just sticks out at 90 degrees always bugged me, even as a child.
We’re getting a space chair? Right? I hope so
I love this fig, and character
What happened to advent calendar madness? R u going to do it plz
