Just got rx7 fc, new battery, spent the day detailing it, couldn't start it to get it back in my garage, saw this video, and it works!!!! Thanks!! I feel like this was a real life cheat code as I'm new to the rotary life😂
What Brian critically failed to mention (and I just did this today) is that in addition to removing the EGI fuse, when you go crank the car, you MUST hold the accelerator pedal all the way down to the floor while doing the cranking. This tells the ECU not to squirt the injectors and add more fuel and make things worse. You're trying to clear fuel out of the chambers. Holding the pedal down while cranking shuts the fuel off, allowing the chambers to clear out. Then replace the EGI fuse and start the car.
My first car was an 87 NA fc. I had to pull the fuel pump fuse and unflood it all the damn time. However, the first crank after unflooding would always trip the tachometer. I never understood why that happened. I'd have to turn if off and on again to get the tach up. I really miss that car :(
You don't need to unplug the fuel pump relay. Depressing the accelerator pedal while cranking tells the ECU not to inject any fuel. Crank with the acclerator depressed for 8 seconds. Wait 5 - 10 seconds. Crank again with NO pedals depressed. It should start right up the first time.

He unplugged his fuel pump relay. Its pretty simple, anyone who works on there own car would know this
