@Kepano 808HI He has the ability to cut and splice so we really dont know how much editing he has done. I appreciate the consistent pace that these walks are done. No interaction with others is fine with me. That would be waste of my time as a viewer. Thanx for walking tours. I have watched many of them. Spent many hours taking these walks.

I've seen the collesium on TV and it just does not do justice to the massive size of this complex. Your camera view makes one appreciate even more that this place was built by hand and without modern machines. Absolutely incredible.

Hey guys, I came to your videos because my mom who cant travel to these places loves to watch them and really enjoys them. She doesnt speak english so I was thinking that if you ever want to in translate the english texts to spanish I can do it as a support for your channel,. at least if you could add them as closed captions for other viewers that might not understand them, maybe we could collaborate somehow, not looking for money nor anything else, just helping echoter out. Best wishes and great channel!

The Colosseum provided people with building material over centuries as pieces of the Colosseum fell to the ground during earthquake.
The Colosseum had a marble façade and marble seats on the inside. When they were looking around for material to build Saint Peter's Basilica in the 15th century, the Colosseum was the closest "quarry."
When you visit Saint Peter's Vatican, you are also visiting part of the Colosseum. What a great tour you have given us.

One of the things my family and I did during our visit to the Colosseum back in Oct 2004 was to turn off the cherry cell phone, we did our best to ignore the chattering tourists & immerse
ourselves in the experience of sight and imagination, one can really feel the bloody spectacles that took place therein, it was a fantastic moment for us, thank you for your excellent work.

One thing that struck me about the Colosseum was that, although the actual inside of the arena was such a complete ruin that it took a huge amount of imagination to appreciate it, walking the concourse was an amazing experience (as seen in the first 5 minutes). To me, it was amazing to know I was walking the same ground thousands of Romans walked while going to and from the actual viewing stands.

Thank you for this thoroughly fantastic tour. No talking, just focusing on all areas, levels, steps, ceiling, floor, walls. It truly took my imagination there. Brilliant work and so nice to just SEE the places and recall all the happy memories I have of them rather than listen to someone else's idea of what I am looking at. While I sit in my house sick & under quarantine in northern California from possibly having caught the coronavirus in Italy a week & a half ago, I was not able to go inside the Colosseum then because the ticket lines were too long, however, I did go around it a few times outside. I just want to thank you for the hour long walking tour of the inside which I am enjoying immensely! And by the way, I haven’t developed a fever and I am going to be off quarantine March 1.

This magnificent structure stands as a testament of the power and glory of an empire that spanned a vast territory. A people of incredible architural genius capable of building great structures many of which are still standing and in use today. They conquered all of of modern day Europe and beyond spreading their culture and knowledge,. governance and structure to often uncivilized regions. they paved the way to the world we live in today. As we walk past or within the walls of these incredible structures of those long past civilizations we should be in awe of their greatness because we live in their shadows and we shall never see their likes again. Thank you for the great job you did bringing this video to us.

I’ve never really wanted to visit the Colosseum because of the horror and death of humans and animals which is its history. However, it is a stark reminder that still stands, reminding us of humanity’s vulgar atrocities. If we don’t know history, we are doomed to repeat it.

It is hard to imagine building a construction like the Colosseum without modern machinery especially trucks to transport all the materials and equipment , a humongous project even today .

Excellent picturisation but cant imagine how it existed while it was functional, but the movie Gladiator gave rough picture, or otherwise its only ruins of the past. Thanks to the film maker, when i visted this place in the year 2006, due to time constraints i couldn't go in and see, now my wish got fulfilled. Thank you once again.

Hey thanks. I filmed a another Colosseum walk in 2020 when their were no tourists and the Colosseum was empty. They wouldn't let you wander around on your own though so my "tour" is not very complete. I still might post it up. Glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks for watching.

These video's are fantastic. Also, 16:30 those steps are no joke. We went as high as they would let us go when I was there, and I had to stop for a breather.

And I thought they were putting their phones to good use as cameras! I saw very few with it stuck to their ears! Oh, maybe they were texting...too bad they missed the point.

      thumb up was the tradition

    • @bobyale6159
      @bobyale6159 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Actually there never was a ‘thumb down’ action from the judges but rather making the thumb run across the throat indicating kill. The word ‘jugular’ originated from this.

Whoa that has certainly saved me the hasle of flying over to Rome with all the associated UK airport grief! I've saved the cost of a flight, rip of hotel prices and didn't have to join an endless queue to get an overpriced entrance ticket. I've now had a hour walk around the Colosseum from the comfort of my armchair for free!! More clips like this please, I'll save a fortune 😀

Hey William, glad you enjoyed it. I filmed the Colosseum back in 2020 again when it was completely empty. It was a guided tour so I wasn't able to roam around like I wanted and I meant to go back and finish filming but never did. Anyway, I might post up what I have anyway. It is pretty cool to see it empty.

If tourists want to avoid the crowds, go in late winter. You'll have a much nicer feel for the place. Then again, it was a thriving city, so the hustle and bustle of tourists sort of make that part more realistic.

Hey Dave, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! It has been fun making these videos and giving people access to something they might not ever see. The weather here has been pretty dark and dreary for the last several weeks so I haven't gone out on any walks lately. I should be going up to Rome this weekend though to do some more walking.
