If I had a nickel for every HMS driver running unintentional throwbacks to Kasey Kahne, I would have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Hahahaha okay it’s totally Kasey Kahne and not his dad Bill Elliott Chase had in mind, come on I loved Kasey Kahne but we all know the Elliotts have history with the sport.
@@metallicman9455I was thinking for sure his dad’s #9 from 2001-2003. Not my favorite, but better than some of the McDonald’s schemes even as simple as the Dodge schemes were.
I had been randomly thinking about the old Country Crock Busch Series cars that Evernham entered in the mid-2000s prior to seeing this year's throwbacks, so my reaction to seeing the #47 car having already seen the #1 was "why didn't they just throw back to their own scheme?"
That pronunciation of “Folgers” at 20:04 has me rolling on the floor right now. Eric is clearly too young to remember those “the best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup” commercials. 😂
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va dude, i literally stopped the video immediately to scroll thru the comments to see if anyone had roasted Eric yet for that...SMDH 🤣🤣 soft G eric, SOFT G!!!
Casey Atwood ran a similar Castrol GTX scheme during his first full-time season with Brewco Motorsports in the #27 during the 1999 Busch Series season.
My fave this year has to be Suarez. I wish they would run it next week too because Brett Bodine drove that same color scheme in 1990 when Ricky left and got his only Cup win at North Wilkesboro... officially anyway.
Burton’s Exide scheme has always been one of my favorites. Glad to see it return. And as a Bill Elliott fan from back in the day growing up in the ‘90’s Chase’s scheme is my favorite.
No-o-o-o-o-o-! You missed it with Castrol GTX. That is the identical JOHN FORCE funny car paint scheme from years ago. John has won the Nationals more than any other driver.
I'm not a Chase or Bill Elliot fan, but anytime I see that Evernham #9 car, my inner Kasey Kahne fan instantly jumps for joy. I also like the Chastain UPS throwback (and like you said, props to Trackhouse for getting them back into the sport after all this time), and that Preece one is so slick. A lot of great ones this year.
Yeah, I'd think that a Bill Elliot throwback should be either the red white and gold or the blue red and white Coors liveries from the late 80s and early 90s. I think the blue Coors livery especially would've been awesome for Chase to run, since his car is literally, usually, blue. This really just looks like a Kasey Kahne livery to me.
Extra points for getting UPS, but hate it was not on a Ford or 88. I hope Jr brings back the 88 to Cup. HMS still owns that lease, so we know Mr. H would let Jr get the #88 back.
@@shappah221He did drive it longer than any driver not named Elliott really. Drove it from 2004-2010. Chase only has had the 9 since 2018, so as long as Kasey I believe almost.
I was blown away with the Herbie The Love Bug scheme! I grew up watching all the Herbie movies and it feels nostalgic a little bit to see it back on track.
Gragson's throwback is very sentimental to me & my dad cuz that race/paint scheme was the first race after my grandpa passed away. He was a HUGE nascar fan & the reason I became a fan of the sport
I like it when they can get the old sponsors back on the car. I think most of the throwbacks look pretty good this year. The 24 is the best throwback in my opinion
The Brad Keselowski throwback is the Castrol GTX paint from John Force in the early-mid 1990’s. It’s spot on for us drag racers that grew up watching John dominate!
BK’s scheme looks very similar to John Force’s drag car when he had Castrol GTX as a sponsor. Also kinda sorta looks like Casey Attwoods’ scheme but not identical.
Trackhouse gets what the throwback schemes are all about. Bring back sponsors and old schemes and get new or old sponsorship back involved with the sport. Win win
I'm very excited to see Byron's Jeff Gordon Chromalusion throwback. Pictures never do that car justice. I've seen the car at HMS and it so cool how the color changes from bronze to purple depending on how the light hits it. 1998 was also the year I started watching NASCAR, so as a Gordon fan, it holds a special place in my heart.
We like that throwback #9 to Bill Elliott as well. I also liked that it said Happy Mother’s Day as well. A tribute to both parents. Great job Chase! Rooting for you to get a win! We also have this Bill Elliott car too. Also, have a picture of my son holding the car, and he also happens to look like Chase as a kid.
Best is the 10. What an awesome throwback. That 9 is great. Can't say anything bad about a lot of these this year. So glad to see so many great schemes this year.
Man that 53 car of Matt Mills I really love it 5 out of 5 stars. My second favorite is Alex Bowman 48 car and my 3rd favorite is Kevin Harvick's 29 car. Great video as always so keep up the great work. One last thing about the 53 car it just almost blew me out of my chair the paint scheme is right and even the number font is spot on.
I have to say my two favorites are the Noah Gragson/Jimmie Johnson and the Erick Jones/Matt Kenseth but I can’t leave out the Brad keselowski/Castrol car. That one just gives me Casey Atwood feelings.
I really love the fact that William Byron is throwing it back to that paint scheme as I can remember very well during that race in 98 because my family used to watch NASCAR royally when I was a kid growing up and Jeff Gordon was always my favorite. I do really like the Bill Elliot paint scheme as well, and you’re right on the Jeff Burton scheme too. I do actually see that even though where the old Exide was is not technically in white, he does have the other word in white on back. Finally, I do love that both the Matt Kenseth DeWalt is back, as well as the Dale Jarrett UPS is back too
I like to think the Clements throwback is a tribute to Paul Newman, since he was supposed to drive a #51 Levi Garrett scheme for the 1987 race at Watkins Glen.
The Larson scheme is the winner for me for sure. Preece scheme looks really great as well. Also diggin the Almirola car and the Erik Jones car. Cool as hell that Bowman’s car is honoring his spotter. RIP Ken Block and Adam Petty. Glad they’re both getting recognized and honored.
I love the xfinity #2 throwback to #2 ACDelco car, Jeff Earnhardt throwback to Dale, Any throwback to Richard Petty & Chase Elliot throwback to his dad.
@Eric Esteep we knew you would love Christophers Dewalt throwback!! Thank you for all you do for Nascar and the sport.💯🔥🔥 1. Christophers Dewalt. 2.Ken Block throwback. 3.Bubba's throwback.
As a UPS employee. Growing up watching the DJ commercials. Plus, every year my hub does a family open house of the hub and they actually have the UPS truck that Carson is throwing back to. I got to give track house the bid for best throwbacks
Did I miss a download??? Where ya been Eric? Nothing after the Kansas race?? Was worried about ya buddy. Appreciate your effort and knowledge. Saves me leg work in my busy life. You are my week to week. Keep it up. Mad Love
My favorite throwbacks from this year in the Cup Series are Ross Chastain's UPS throwback, Kyle Larson's HendrickCars throwback, Harrison Burton's DEX Imaging throwback, Chase Elliott's Llumar throwback, and Ryan Newman's Jacob Companies throwback. My least favorites however are Denny Hamlin's Federal Express throwback, Kevin Harvick's Sunny Delight "throwback", and Chris Buescher's so called Fifth Third Bank "throwback."
Trackhouse still has great schemes. It’s just hard to beat last years, they were just beautiful cars. But also they were throwing back a a family that so many fans root for and like, so it just had massive sentimental value.
Would have to say William Byrons is my favorite throwback for this year, curious to see who cindric will throwback to hoping to see a Miller lite throwback maybe
The C-Bell DeWalt throwback has numbers that are so much smaller and that's one thing that's really bothering me. Also, the "DeWalt" on the rear quarter panel is way smaller than the original and I don't understand why. There's plenty of space.

I love that William Byron is throwing back to Jeff Gordon running the 1998 All-Star race. I just hope he doesn't have the same fate Jeff did that night, leading on the last lap then running out of gas.
One that you didn't mention on the Xfinity side that looks amazing is the 02 of Blaine Perkins, who has the paint scheme that Kevin Harvick and Johnny Sauter shared during the 2003 Busch Series season, and the team even got Payday to come back on board for the weekend.
As someone who got interested in Ken Block and Hoonigan after watching Gymkhana 3, I love Herbst's throwback, but there is one glaring issue with it The rims aren't green. XD
A lot of 4 and 5 star throwbacks this year and even some I would rank as S-tier schemes. Chase Elliott's #9 is my #1. Honestly, I thought it was an odd choice for him to throw back to Kasey Kahne before remembering that Bill Elliott also drove that car. My #2 is Ryan Newman's throw back to himself. My #3 is a tie between the DeWalt scheme and Byron's Jeff Gordon throw back. #5 is a tough one to narrow down because the are so many good ones, but I've got to give the UPS throwbacks honorable mention for recognizability.
Wasn't Kevin Hamlin's 2007 Xfinity (Busch) car itself a throwback to Davey Allison's Havoline scheme from the late 80s? So the 48 is a throwback of a throwback haha. :)
I agree with all of your choices and their places, with the exception of your number 2 choices. I think the DeWalt car is the 2nd most recognizable and also the second best looking scheme behind that 9 car
Keselowski scheme evokes John Force funny car of the mid late 90s, but does have a passing resemblance to Casey Atwood's #27 Castrol GTX car from 2000...
the #80 Hendrickcars Chevy was fielded by Hendrick Motorsports for the 2009 Nationwide Series Daytona opener, so it’s not really out of left field or a rib on Tony
I know you didn’t show any of them but the RCR Xfinity series throwbacks both honored the two Harvick championships. They did a really good job on those two. I was surprised they didn’t do any kind of throwback at all with the eight or the three in cup this year, they missed out on golden opportunities with those two numbers to do Dale Earnhardt and Dale Junior throwbacks.
Woulda been really awkward if Josh were still running chase's car with that 9 scheme planned
Of all the Bill Elliott throwbacks that Chase has driven, this one I assume would be the most significant to Chase.
It probably would’ve been really awkward for Kasey Kahne too
Dale Jarrett and UPS had some of the best commercials ever together.
I WANNA DRIVE THE TRUCK DALE LOL AND D.J. WOULD BE DRIVEING A BIG ASS UPS TRUCK 😅
The best!!
Honestly i love the 24 throwback, the rainbow lines with that copper is going to really pop in person
That car was a monster and one of many that season that were just ahead of the field by far
It's not copper it's color changing he ran out of fuel and mark martin won that all star race
seen some twitter of it and it is color change so fuckin good
Hat's off to Ally for always being willing to change things up all season in terms of the paint scheme.
