This is called a balance tilt trailer, its used for equipment like tractors, bobcat, excavators, your equipment has to balance itself to put weight on your back in of the truck so you won't need sway bars. Wrong truck and trailer combination and dot will flag you because weight is wrong.

After watching you crank the handle on that trailer jack I remember why I will never have a trailer without an electric jack.
I have an East Texas 24 foot full hydraulic tilt trailer and I had the same problem. I ended up damaging my cylinder because the hitch sit way too low. Once I got a taller hitch, it solved all the problems. Now I just need a larger truck since I’m pulling it with a Toyota tundra.

The trailer and truck needs to be level without a load on it. That trailer is designed for heavy equipment, so a person or 2 is going to have an issue tilting it. That's also why most have hydraulic controls.
That's some tall tires for a tilt trailer it must be made for a hauling heavy duty equipment

We have a trailer like this that we use to haul a 12,000 lb mini ex all the time . We have put different cars from time to time but when doing low cars we use the wood in a stair step stagger to avoid dragging the bumper
I’m sure it was already said in the comments, but the set up brother has is off. He needs a taller truck, plus his trailer is “technically” a equipment trailer. It’ll be a learn’n curve, he has 2 find the “sweet spot” 4 his pivot point. Only way it’ll slam down is if he doesn’t have any fluid in the cylinder. I have a tilt trailer & it is a full tilt…Ya’ll went & seen Twisters, welcome 2 Oklahoma life my guys! 😂

Trailer is for a heavy duty 3/4 ton pickup.truck not high enough for it to operate efficiently.

You need a full trailer. You need a full trailer for you. Remove your hitch as a nice truck as a nice Ram. II couldn't do stuff with that. If you had to get you get, you know an old Dodge to do stuff doing Holland cars in South beautiful trailer and I'm up and I end up and I forward. Our crew camp truck set alarm one hour everyday truck robs
The problem with the tilt trailer is lack of maintenance. It has to be lubricated regularly.

Needs a real truck 2500-4500 and a different trailer that would be very frustrating to load something that don’t run. This is an equipment trailer for skid steers and such.

Wrong type trailer for car hauling IMO. Two small cars can fit the deck but you can only load one and this has no provision for ramps when tilt deck is locked. The 1500 and this trailer is potentially a ticket being towed, though you might get by with it. When I was involved in an accident , not my fault, towing my 18" L x 84' W car hauler with my 2500 PU, the Officer asked , "The trailer is 16" right?" He asked me twice and he said, "Yeah , it's 16," and put it on the report. (It is specific to deck length and width, not overall length.)Turns out he listed my truck as a 1500 and it seems there is a legal definition of tow vehicle capacity to trailer length. This combination loaded, 1500 and trailer pictured, may not be covered by an insurance claim, subject to legal definitions if involved in an accident not to mention going commercial and subject to DOT regulations. Ram's specs says this same truck equiped with 321 gear can tow a max of 6790 lbs and up to 10,390 lbs if it has 392 gear ratio. Similar trailers wiegh 4300 lbs empty leaving a low side payload of 2490 lbs and high side of 6090 lbsbased on RAM's specifacations. I'm no expert, just did a lot of research to kind of understand the rules when I found and rebuilt my trailer. Check to be sure. I'm happy for you getting a piece of equipment like that and know with a friend like KJ, you will get nothing but good advice. Nothing but success!

I have a backup camera but with the way i have my adjustable hitch setup, it blocks it. If i lower it a little, i can see it again.
THIS MAY BE AN ODD QUESTION.....BUT DID THIS TRAILER COME WITH OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS?.....ALL THE TILT EQUIPMENT TRAILERS THAT I HAVE SEEN WILL TOUCH THE GROUND WITHOUT ANY RAMPS.....AND IN "ANY" HITCH POSITION.....HIGH.....LOW.....OR MEDIUM.....MAYBE HIS HYDROLIC CYLINDER NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTED "OUT" SOME?....THEY CAN HAUL EQUIPMENT AND MOST VEHICLES WITHOUT ANY TROUBLE.....AND YES.....HIS TRUCK IS TOO SMALL TO SAFELY PULL THAT TRAILER.....

Reset size trailer in a vehicle oil 1500 he don't even have to stopping power he needs he's taking a hell of a risk driving anything pulling in pulling it with a 1500 I personally I wouldn't hook nothing up to no 1500 over a jet ski not that I don't trust 1500 pickups for that particular purpose you know about the weight of a car and the weight of a trailer on a 1500 which is just a notch above a car the granite at the 1500 Maher sway bars is that the Third I don't care if it's Ford Chevy or Dodge a 1500 do not have the brakes the handle a trailer in the car Howard music 250 I wouldn't use a 2500 from Chevy or Dodge 3500 is the minimum I've driven mini trailers I've driven with a 3500 with steer skids and if you don't have that weight proportion right on the trailer you're going to lose control of whatever you're on I've been gone to heaven coworker put the steer skid on the trailer the wrong way and it changed the way to load Road in Iowa I wound up having a trailer doing the death of a wobbly and that's where the trailer goes from side to side and it was you know bottom line it was controlling the truck and it was a 3500 so what I wanted to be doing was the first thing I do is I stepped on the gas to try to stop it from going from side to side it worked a little bit but when I seen it was doing nothing but getting worse that's when I just stood on the brakes and I know I just took the chances and that's it I ended up pulling the truck on the shoulder of the road dismounting the stair skid and reinstalling it on the trailer and locking it down the way I always do from that day forward I never let nobody load anything for me unloaded for myself and I set things up for myself because easily lose your life somebody put something on the trailer wrong and with a 1500 I've had generators and I don't know if you ever picked up a generator before 60k generator damn bastard heavy as in hell and I got to tell you a 1500 pickup truck is not going to handle that kind of weight absolutely have to have a 3500 or a 4500 pickup truck the handle hauling anything why because you got four Junior four tires in the back that's making contact on the road and it could control the load better and you still got a load that crap right when the company I was working for get rid of all the 3500 I wouldn't get 4500 Kodiak never had another minute trouble out of hauling 4500 Kodiak it's a real nice truck man a lot of people don't understand it she got that Allison Transmission and that built forget Duramax that Allison Transmission and was that heavy you can haul just about what you want was that 1500 he asking for big trouble hauling anything with that
