I cant even tell you how loud I laughed when Jay said “if I just roll down this hill I could save a few steps” 🤣 I scared one of my cats and woke up another one 🤣
Wow; you REALLY got your steps in this day! Good for you! I didn't even think about how far away Radiance of the Seas was parked when we were over in Ovation of the Seas taking up the 2 "prime" spots. You gave me a great perspective on that! Thanks for all you do!!
I literally just said the same thing (Jurassic park velociraptor) to my husband. “And that’s when the attack comes… from the other 2 bears you didn’t even know were there.”
Love this video! You cracked me up while y’all were walking back to the ship and didn’t take the shuttle bus back . We just got back from Alaska and we loved Mendenhall Glacier and Juneau! LOVE all your videos ! Thank you
Loving yalls videos and pics of Alaska. So fun seeing all the nature of juneau. I was there on Ovation may 20th sailing. Hope to go again . We were suppose to be in juneau for 10 hours but only got 3 hrs due to medical emergency onboard.
Aha, the Google had the pin in the wrong spot then. I've since gone back to Google and I see exactly where you're talking about. Good to know, thankee!! :D
Good morning Jay and Dee. If you go back to Juneau, DeckHand Daves is about 2 blocks past the Red Dog Saloon on the right hand side of the street. . It is a small permanent food truck area with some limited seating. The halibut fish tacos were delicious as were the fries. And the prices were good. There was a boat shaped drink area where the colas were $2.50 with free refills-what a deal! They also had beer on tap and in bottles. When I was in Juneau 2 weeks ago the temp was 80 degrees and sunny. The entire cruise had sunny port days and mild temps. Our ship was able to get far into Hubbard Glacier and it was spectacular.
We ended up at Deckhand Dave's for lunch. I don't think you went quite far enough. You had to go thru town, past the Red Dog and then to the right. Aww, my son bought one of those music boxes! OMG that juggler was so good!!
New subscriber here, love your vlogs. You are hilarious and so down to earth. Even love the music parodies. Can you buy soda or water at these ports and bring back to the ship? We don't drink any alcohol so did not bother to buy a drink package. We board this very ship in 2 weeks, looks amazing.
Thanks so much! Their website only mentions bringing on beverages on boarding day, and nothing specifically about in ports of call. I don't think you're technically supposed to bring on, say... a fresh 12 pack of soda cans, but if you had a couple of cans or bottles, you might be okay. They don't seem to have a clear rule on it, so don't be surprised if they ask you to trash them when coming back onto the ship! Yow!!
Hi Jay and Dee. I love your vblog. I started watching them because I was looking for cruise passenger experiences and found your youtube channel. I do not speak English and I had to resort to a translator. Would there be a possibility that your future videos could be translated with subtitles in Spanish? They would have much more subscriptions on their channel. Greetings and continue success.
I am seriously thinking of booking this Alaska cruise or caribean. I would like both in liike april or may when its not too hot yet in the Caribbean. That shrimp civiche good but under "cooked" hope it was good.
We looooove May because it's chilly and snowy, which is how we imagine "Alaska" to be, ha ha... we've curious to see it next month to see some snow melted and it looking a little more summer-y. Yes, Royal's shrimp ceviche isn't par-cooked like most other ones, so it's gray (which is normal) rather than the pink we always think of, ha ha... took us by surprise the first time!! :P
Dee is closed to new clients as of right now, but we're thinking she might open next week after she's completely caught up on projects for existing clients!! :P ~Jay
Oooh, not specifically. I think the stats since 2007 are that it's receded about 1/3 of a mile from then to now, so more slowly than in the past, but still receding!!
I actually did pick up three pairs while sailing Alaska, I believe. Incorporated some brand new ones into the videos but didn't really point them out, ha ha!! :P ~Jay
I think they're required to wear little nametags, but who wants to get that close! Haaah... actually, we attended a seminar on bears onboard a recent cruise and learned how to distinguish them based on ear size, if they have a humped back, and a few other small details that I still never pay attention to!! :P ~Jay
We took some time off to enjoy ourselves in Hawaii, so the Alaska vlogs are about 4 weeks delayed right now. But we'll be springing into this recent Hawaii trip as soon as Alaska wraps up!! :P
Bear socks on the day you saw a bear...brilliant!
I cant even tell you how loud I laughed when Jay said “if I just roll down this hill I could save a few steps” 🤣 I scared one of my cats and woke up another one 🤣
Way to be Bear Aware y’all! 🐻 That was a great looking backpack you had there! 🎒
“Hey Bear!!” We learned from the best, ha ha… :P ~Jay
On behalf of all the subscribers may I just say how very proud we are of Jay`s 0 percent walking asymmetry!!
I've been stepping up my step game!! :P ~Jay #joooookes

I have to say the Wild Leaf cracked me up.
That was fun as always. Those beef short ribs were calling my name. Thanks for taking us along.😎

Deck Hand Daves is further up Franklin street. You can't miss the food Pod. go past the red dog about five minutes.
Aha, the Google had the pin in the wrong spot then. I've since gone back to Google and I see exactly where you're talking about. Good to know, thankee!! :D
Jay you have me in tears that was some walk back to that ship, I would have flag down that bus.
As close as you were to that bear was amazing! We never saw one!!

OMG that juggler was so good!!
Wonderful hike but all I could think about was “I hope there are rest rooms on the way back to the ship” after 32 oz. of coffee! 🤣
Me too!!!! I made a list of things to take. I put down “feminine products”. Unfortunately for me, I think I meant Depends! Lol
Good morning 🌄
Wonderful

Where does one contact you all for travel help?
Dee is closed to new clients as of right now, but we're thinking she might open next week after she's completely caught up on projects for existing clients!! :P ~Jay
Dee, where is your vest from? I go to Alaska in two weeks.
Old Navy!! :D
I'm commenting early in the video but did you find out any information about how far it receded in the last 20 years or so?
Oooh, not specifically. I think the stats since 2007 are that it's receded about 1/3 of a mile from then to now, so more slowly than in the past, but still receding!!
@@parodeejay so probably half a mile!! So sad.
Did you not buy some socks? or is this a thing of the past and I missed it?
I actually did pick up three pairs while sailing Alaska, I believe. Incorporated some brand new ones into the videos but didn't really point them out, ha ha!! :P ~Jay
If not all brown bears are brown and not all black bears are black then how do they/we know the difference?? Do they wear hats??
I think they're required to wear little nametags, but who wants to get that close! How far behind are the videos? I know editing can take a while.
