Still using a Pebble Time Steel in 2020! Thanks to Rebble, the watch is still 100% functional. 80% functional if you don't pay the $30 a year to subscribe to voice services. There's still nothing out there that has an always on display, the smarts and app ecosystem pebble offers, all while still living for 10 days. Go by Pebble's on eBay people, they're absolutely still around and worth the money!
I have just noticed that some people are working on open source pebble mobile apps. Perhaps a dev community might form around the device which might be very neat. Especially considering how cheap the pebble time and pebble 2 are currently. I am actually now very tempted by the thought of a time steel since pebble has stated that they want to release software updates to make the devices continue to operate independently without cloud functionality by storing all the data locally on the app. Which sounds perfectly fine to me.
I bought one about a month ago and I love it. It does exactly what I want it to do perfectly. I'll wear it until it no longer works or if something better comes along.
I bought a Pebble Time really cheap (new) in a sale earlier this month, not regretting it at all, it's a great watch. About the support for it, I believe they said that it would be fine "through 2017" so that's something at least
Just bought Pebble 2 SE yesterday from Target for $30. Loving it so far. Incredibly clear screen and very longgggg battery life. It's been 24 hours and still at 100%.
I must be crazy, too. I bought a P2 after the demise of the company and am loving it. (I paid $60 for it. I would not have paid $100. That's too much for a dead technology.) I know people think it's foolish to invest in the Pebble now, but it does everything I need it to and the battery lasts 7 days. I just couldn't invest in another device I charge everyday. Unless Fitbit deliberately kills, it, it will still be 100% useful through this year and most likely for a year or two to come. I really just need those notifications. They keep me on time and effective.
I got the pebble 2 HR and it is AWESOME. I upgraded from the original, and they really improved this model! It's sleek with a battery that lasts for days! I like the additional health functionality as well. Also, i got the product replacement plan which means I'll be able to get a new watch in a year when the pebble store stops being supported.
Got a Pebble 2 SE. I was quite amazed how clear the screen is compared to Pebble Time and you don't even need a screen protector to keep it away from scratches. Its definitely an upgrade
Never heard of this dude but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the video. I had the original Pebble and I'm looking for something to accompany my OnePlus 5T. It's good to see that these devices are still available and useable. Subbed.
For some of us, the Pebble is vital. There are specific things that some of us use the Pebble for that no other smartwatch currently does, at least until developers start supporting other watches.
I am definitely getting the Pebble 2 in addition to my Pebble Time. As long as the battery holds up, the watch should work just fine with Bluetooth apps. A lot of guys called it a "kid's watch" and that was the deal-maker for me! I used to wear Timex kid's watches for comfort. And then I switched over to a Swiss Railroad pocketwatch. I still carry that around for fun, but I wear the Pebble Time 23:58/7. (If you charge it in the morning and before sleeping, it charges in less than a minute. So, it's always charged.) I recently got a wrap from Slick Wraps, and a coordinating band from Gadgetwraps. It looks and feels brand new. You can make it look like anything you wish. I never expected to love a wristwatch. And it's better to have loved and lost . . . Seriously, though, I expect this Pebble Time, as well as the new one, to last several years. Developers are already on the case.
If you like the red band, I would recommend getting the Pebble Time Steel Gold edition refurb on Amazon for under $80. I have both Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel and Steel version doesn't feel like a Plastic Toy.
I bought and used the Pebble 2 HR (my original pebble broke) and I immediately returned it (bc lack of support). I eventually ended up buying an Asus Zenwatch 2 for $99. It has a better display, built in speaker, google's voice recognition, WiFi, and Bluetooth. I've had it for a few months now a I noticed I really didn't mind charging it every night. Don't me wrong though, I love my Original Pebble.
im kinda depressed now knowing that im never gonna be able to get the pebble time 2, i was suposed to get it as a christmas pressent when it came out, but now my christmas is ruined.
You can get the Pebble 2 SE for around 60 dollars now on Amazon. Still works with your phone and I'm sure Fitbit won't just kill them any time soon. They're popular and really the only reason Fitbit bought them, was to remove a competitor. With the Xiaomi AMAZFIT starting to become popular, Fibit may wish to use the Pebble as a low cost early entry to smartwatches. For people who just want an easier way of getting notifications and other basic features. The Pebble's life isn't over yet.
you can still use alternative apps like Gadgetbridge which is available via F-Droid (sorry, no iPhone afaik). No need for any pebble/Fitbit server connection - it works like a charm for all basic functions. Though there is (of course...) no pebble App store
My Pebble Time still works great, hope it will work for a long time to come - bulky Android Wear watches with gimped always-on screens don't even come near in terms of convenience and battery life.
I purchase Pebble 2 HR two weeks back just because Fitbit bought Pebble and I wanted to stock myself with another pebble that I can use after my Pebble Time Steel battery dies.
I'm still really jaded about the acquisition and the fact that hundreds of dollars was withheld from me (I paid for the Time 2/Core reservation) for months after they decided to sell. Finding out they decided on the white flag more than a quarter before I got my refund was a real bummer. I really loved my time steel and the Timely face. Out of principal, I switched and am now using a Gear S3 Frontier. I was in a wearable black hole like most ex Pebble owners, but the features of the S3 are great and a 3 day battery life was about the lowest I was willing to go.
I enjoyed my various smart watches but i have settled on a FitBit Charge 2. It does everything i need it too and is a lot smaller on the wrist. My only gripe is that it isn't waterproof???? Come on FitBit.
I'm currently rocking an SMA-Q2 (Time) which is a blatant pebble rip-off but... it has a lot of potential. 30 day use, 40 day standby, colour e-paper, heart rate monitor, water resistant, back-light...
not at all! I recently got mine as well and not regretting it one bit! check out my unboxing and review of the pebble 2 with heart sensor. Great device!
I was going to go for a pebble time 2, until it got canceled so I went with an apple watch. Previously I had a gear s2 and a pebble before that. This pebble gives me a nice feeling of when pebble was in their prime, I lived them as a company
kat4K Actually your video was so good, you explained the things so good, and now as you said thanks, i have to do the same with U because when i saw your video of the pebble time and the other one of what happened between fit bit and pebble, now i love pebble and i love U to for the way that U explained the thinks and I'm so thankful with U🙈 (by the way I'm going to buy a pebble time or pebble 2 i don't know jaja, any advice for me?, thanks again). i just want to say that you are a good blogger and i would like to do something like U but I'm better just watching jaja, thanks again and U have a new subscriber.
I got the 2 and the round lol I have all of them now with a spare steel for parts. Nothing come close to pebble. I was a double kickstart supporter and since that time never used anything else.
Still have my Pebble classic. I love it, but I need a cardiac sensor. So I just bought a Pebble 2. I was asking myself the same question. I hope it wasn´t a mistake! I would like to hear your opinions.
You can get a "skin" to cover that beat-up bezel for about $10 or improvise something. I love my Pebble Time Steel, but I might get a Pebble 2 as well. My battery is about 50% as good as it was when I bought it on the Kickstarter. I'll probably attempt to replace it once the life goes below one day.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I'm torn between the Pebble Time Steel or the Pebble 2. I have the Pebble Time now and it's getting rough. What do you think?
Hi I saw you video on yn-300 iii led lights. I would like to know if you can use two of these lights for green screen shooting. Also some where I found that these lights have some problem at highest power setting. Did you have any such problem?
I'll stick with my Pebble Time Steel.... Love the color display and the 8-10 battery. Wish I could of gotten a Pebble Time 2+ but, sigh, never going to happen now.Hands down the best smartwatch out there if you don't need the bling and the apps on the watch, just a high quality no frills smartwatch that you can go swimming with and lasts forever..
So we're approaching April, how are things coming along with you Jordan? Still liking that watch? It looks like they're getting cheaper, so I doubt it'd be a disappointment... :)
Jordan Keyes Oh darn, that's a bit disappointing to hear since I just recently switched back to an iPhone. I currently have a G Watch R and mainly just want more watch faces. Might be worth the $60 or so just for that benefit and the e-ink display!
If you can get one on clearance from Target for $30-60 (the heart rate one tends to be closer to 60) like I did, then I say yes! I've been loving mine so far :)
Seriously tempted getting a Pebble Time for £50 new from Amazon, is it still worth getting? I assume the watch will still have some functions after the software stops being updated?
i just bought a 2nd hand pebble 2 HR and will arrive tomorrow night, what can i expect for this watch and how do i update it to its latest firmware. i know it will end its "support" by end 2017, but hope this community can help me out. first pebble smartwatch
FitBit states they will support Pebble through 2017, even if they stop at that point, shouldn't the watch still work? I mean getting notifications etc. from your smartphone.
Would have been funny if that pebble sticker was like.. a tomb with R.I.P. Pebble on the tombstone. Then a dude wearing a shirt that says Fitbit filling in the grave.
Was wondering how smart it would be to go for a Pebble Time Round at this time? Don't like any of the smart watches. Got a Martian Notifier a couple of months back to get used to the idea of a smart watch
I loved the design of the round, except for the large bezels, and the 2 day battery life sounded pretty disappointing. 7 days on the Pebble Time and Pebble 2 have been excellent, I'd hate to go back to charging every day or 2.
as long as fitbit doesnt brick it (or whatever its called for a watch)... it should be fine, just getting notifications. i am thinking about getting one too, to supplement my moto 360. Can the pebble ecosystem co-exist on my phone if i also run android wear and the moto? i want both ecosystems and both watches to receive my notifications.... will they work simultaneously?
Jordan Keyes I would totally recommend the SMA TIME(Q2) It's a Epaper smartwatch 40 day standby battery life is amazing and water resistant and more. Check it out and do a review for it please
Gutted the special edition polished steel round didn't become a reality I had a kickstarter pledge on that. Got the bonus sport looking black ink pebble 2 HR but wanted a smart looking steel one with colour so I've got the Samsung gear s3 and very pleased. Definitely not a pebble hater as I pledged from the very beginning pebble 1 then the pebble time. Shame what happened with the company.
JustMrWolf Yes it is. Just remember to load Bluetooth apps rather than cloud-based apps and you'll have it for as long as the battery holds out. And look at all the bands and wraps that can make your own! Definitely get the Pebble experience.

+Jordan Keyes I just dislike the e-ink interface on watches. It just makes the build cheaply made. So neither the Pebble nor Fitbit pleases me. I have *not* jumped into the Apple Watch nor the Android Wear bandwagon as the battery life on those expensive watches suck. If they last 3-4 days then yes I'll jump in. For now, I'm going to hold on to my Casio, Citizen & Seiko having the latter two *not ever needing* batteries as they both run mechanically.
So upset pebble will basically die after 2017 I really wanted to buy a smart watch just like this and I've been looking for alternatives but nothing compares to this watch 😩 idk I might just buy it
We’ve updated our iOS app to preserve the Pebble smartwatch experience and remove the dependence on cloud services. Visit developer.getpebble.com for full details. NEW + FIXED • The app lets Pebble devices keep working, even if online servers are not accessible for any reason. The login process can be skipped, apps can be side-loaded, and the latest watch firmware (including language packs) can be installed. • We removed the option to “Contact Support” but users can still export diagnostic data (including the Health database) by tapping “Share Diagnostics”. • Health data collection and various telemetry reporting has been removed. • The option to suggest new features has been removed. • Turning on HealthKit synchronization in “Settings” now writes heart rate data to Apple’s Health app. • Fixed a bug which would “crown” your first day of step counts, even if no activity was recorded yet. FOR DEVELOPERS • The Developer menu is now easier to find within the new “Settings” tab. • Developers can now side-load a service configuration to change which servers the Pebble app communicates with. • Fixed a crash that occurred when Rocky.js apps used Clay configuration pages. • Fixed a crash that occurred when configuration pages attempted to open an image picker using HTML5 file input
Sería maravilloso si la explicación hubiera sido en español. Yo compré mi reloj en España, abone su importe en España, Pebble se comercializa en España. Tan difícil es que lo traduzcan al español.- Gracias
Hello. I need your help. I'm interested in whether this pebble recognizes Georgian font or not. If you have time please tell me does your pebble recognise this text: ქართული. Please write it in the note app synced with pebble or something like that. Thank you in advance. It means a lot to buy new Pebble
I don't have a notes app, but the text from the email just showed blocks, and I created a calendar event with that as the title, and it showed as blocks as well.
I can't seem to invest $100.00 for a watch that will be shutting down in a couple of few months. if u took that same $100,00 an invested it with another $250.00 for the Samsung S3, now ur talking a good buy. MY OPINION!
I agree with putting a bit more for another more stable company that will last you longer, but for many, the Pebble was one of the best watches and it did everything they wanted well. I love my original Pebble watch, but I don't have the money to get another one at the time, I'm rocking that until another good one comes by :) Def agree with saving the money, but it's more about the Pebble collection now haha

Meijers department store. I think they were dumping them. I doubt they have them anymore. I bought the last P2 in the store just before Christmas.
Randy Spears ok thanks :)
Just got a round for 50. Recent update helps it stay working after cloud servers shut down. Im sure you got the update by now.

What's your thoughts on Garmin fenix 3?
well jaw I think it's too expensive
Garmin Fenix 3hr or the the new fenix 5...best of the best
Ok its 2018 now, the servers shutdown in june.... and still no decent pebble time replacement exists :-(
You should try the xiaomi weloop S3 or the Amazfit! Both have better battery life
Mark Mitchell But notification is not Good as Pebble.
Nah, you're not crazy. I'm enjoying my Pebble 2 + HR quite a bit as well. My poor Pebble Time has been just chilling since I got this one. :(
Just got my 2
I always wanted a pebble watch but is it still working since fitbit buy pebble?
JustMrWolf Yes it is. Just remember to load Bluetooth apps rather than cloud-based apps and you'll have it for as long as the battery holds out. And look at all the bands and wraps that can make your own! Definitely get the Pebble experience.

I just dislike the e-ink interface on watches.
Well made review
I'm on the fence, can i download different faces through the iPhone app?
Got the pebble 2 hr for 30 dollars at target, worth it.
Absolutely! I'm still wearing my Pebble 2 and loving it.
How do you get your contacts to work?
Gear s2 has exactly 2 days of battery life for me lol when I get home after 1 day it's on 50% and after 2 days it turns off
It would be pretty awesome if Pebble let people make their own software for pebble watches considering they will probably abandoning it.
How can I make the main menu icons bigger ??? i have a pebbel time
So upset pebble will basically die after 2017 I really wanted to buy a smart watch just like this and I've been looking for alternatives but nothing compares to this watch 😩 idk I might just buy it
Jaystackaroni apparently there's now an update for it to work even after 2017
Jaystackaroni they are dirt cheap now
We’ve updated our iOS app to preserve the Pebble smartwatch experience and remove the dependence on cloud services. Visit developer.getpebble.com for full details.
NEW + FIXED
• The app lets Pebble devices keep working, even if online servers are not accessible for any reason.
FOR DEVELOPERS
• The Developer menu is now easier to find within the new “Settings” tab.
• Developers can now side-load a service configuration to change which servers the Pebble app communicates with.
• Fixed a crash that occurred when Rocky.js apps used Clay configuration pages.
• Fixed a crash that occurred when configuration pages attempted to open an image picker using HTML5 file input
i was gonna buy the pebble time 2 as a give to myself for christmas :(
my christmas got ruined by fixbit
Sería maravilloso si la explicación hubiera sido en español. Yo compré mi reloj en España, abone su importe en España, Pebble se comercializa en España. Tan difícil es que lo traduzcan al español.- Gracias
PEBBLE IM COMING BACK!!!!!!! SORRY FOR GETTING THE APPLE WATCH!!!!
yeaaa.....i did the same thing
This company shouldn't have gone down. In some ways the Pebbles were superior to anything else on the market and they are really missing.
I love my original Pebble watch, but I don't have the money to get another one at the time, I'm rocking that until another good one comes by :) Def agree with saving the money, but it's more about the Pebble collection now haha
i think now that fitbit bought pebble i think fitbit can do so much more
