Great footage! Just a comment…when you’re talking in the video about the sound of the tornado, and all the viewer/listener can hear is your background music, we can’t share the sound that you’re hearing. There is a fascinating terror to experiencing the event exactly how you experienced it… minus the music. There can be a place for music if it’s mixed in a subtle way/barely audible in the background. Most viewers are attracted to tornado chaser channels because they can live this event vicariously through you. The best a viewer can hope for is to use two of the five senses in this vicarious experience. Louder music eliminates one of those two senses.
PaleoTwister is spot on, the drone has no audio so I decided to throw some music there to make it less awkward. I wish I could have found a better song but it's difficult to do when you are trying to pump these videos out same day. I made sure to have the audio fade out when you actually can hear the tornado a bit. Also most of my other tornado videos have no music for you guys that are not a fan of this one!
Using drones to aid in storm chasing are really taking tornado videos to the next level. I know the chasers love the "thrill" of being right next to a tornado, but the drones offer a safer alternative, and give better video of the full tornado at perspectives that they just can't see from the ground. Seeing that inflow coming into the twisting main funnel at 1:23, was absolutely amazing
This video is some of my new favorite tornado footage of all time. It illustrates really well just how quickly a fast moving tornado in forested/ hilly terrain can sneak up on you. Every time the camera pans back it gets closer and closer until it's practically on top of you. It also shows exactly why drones are the future of chasing in the south, I've always thought that storms there aren't actually rain-wrapped any more frequently than those on the great plains, they just don't get seen because of all the trees and topography in the way. Drones mean you don't have to rely on thinly spaced and intermittent tower cams to get above these obstructions.
I appreciate the footage from the ground up to the sky. I live in the town of Shelby, AL, and I feel like people that aren't from here don't appreciate the lack of visibility because of our landscape. 90+% of Alabama is covered in hills/mountainous terrain, except the extreme southern portions by the beach, and your view is always obstructed by thick tree growth. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love all the green and trees year-round and the beautiful rolling hills, but it makes tornado weather just that much more tense. Great shot though! Thanks so much for going out there and getting this footage for us. Stay safe!!
Hey Natalie! You are absolutely correct. I live one mile from the jeffersons county shelby county line. And just 4 miles from where the tornado hit near 280/119. . .we are in tornado alley. But you are so right about the mountains and thickness of our landscape. You never really know how much the landscape actually protects you or which direction the storm will turn. It's very intense here when the storms do roll thru . . . our reality is, it's spring in Alabama, so you just get ready and be prepared. Yes awesome footage, great work by the videographer.
Bringing your own orchestra to the chase, now that's dedication. Jokes aside, that tornado looked and sounded scary, prayers for those that had their lives changed 💗
Was watching this cell go tor-e on radar and it looked terrifying, but that thing is way meaner looking in real life, it's getting so much inflow it's insane. Great footage man.
Hey bud just thought Id let you know the channel Live Storms Media re-uploaded clips from your video as their own. I dont know if you gave them permission or if theyre in any way affiliated with you, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
No idea. It just happened today. No surveys yet. I think this thing had the POTENTIAL of being an EF5 but it didn’t seem to hit anything with it’s full force. So lower is much more likely.
It says a lot about the refinement of warning procedures over the past few years that not a single person was killed or even seriously injured by this storm. Watching Spann's coverage as it barreled towards Centreville I was almost certain a mass-casualty incident was in progress. That radar signature was seriously eerie.
Absolutely beautiful captures, in a tragically eerie kind of way! The destruction is heart wrenching. Also watching the cows and wanting to cry because they have no where to go...I can't imagine being in the path with no real shelter. The terror would seem out of a nightmare!
Yo why at 2:31 when they had a tornado chasing them as he saying go go speeding did I hear police sirens thinking he's actually getting pulled over while a monster tornado coming 😆 than went to another part of video but had me fooled for sec like wtf
Yes, and most people do not realize, we (deep southerners) are in the top five of tornado alley's. . . .this is what we deal with every spring . . some worse than others.
Sadly, Alabama lays claim to the most tornado related deaths annually, despite us not having the most tornados. Death rate seems to be improving, but I think a lot of people look outside and don't see it coming because of the terrain, so they just assume it's not going to hit them until it's too late. Stay safe in OK!
I was watching your stream, was awesome, but arent you the guys who got into a car accident right after this video?? Lol, we all just heard "Oh Shitt" then screen goes blank and everyone in the chat was freakin out thinkin u got hit by the tornado or the other truck got ya
Probably taking lessons from the Tuscaloosa tornado 4/27/2011. It was an absolute beast. There were a lot of tornados and deaths that day, but Tuscaloosa alone had like 200-300 people die. Very, very sad. There is great footage of that particular tornado and others from that same outbreak (it happened over 2 or 3 days), if you're interested in having a watch.
Condolences to anyone who lost a family member or friend in that twister.

I agree!! I was so annoyed by the music because it was really great footage!
And the swearing...can't show this to my kids...
@@bracedh3722 What is up with all you pearl clutching whiny pedantic clowns and your "bad words" complaining?
The music was played during the drone shots, where there’s no sound available.

The damage shown at the end is absolutely devastating. Much love to you guys in the US during these times.
Ok 15k subscribers? This channel consistently has the best footage of all the storms
“Yeah we can sit here for a while” split second later, “oh there’s a house in the air, let’s go” my thoughts exactly 🙌🏼😅
My goodness your footage was insane today. Really great footage
Great job guys! That drone video is amazing!
This feels like a professional documentary great job
Max, you’re absolutely killing it man! Nailed all the tornado chases so far and the videos are excellent.

Indispensable tool for chasing in the south for sure.
So many tall trees in this alley you need a drone. Limited sight availability makes storm chasing here dangerous.

Dang Max, you're really getting amazing footage of all the good storms this year.
Thanks Chris, we have been quite lucky so far this year!
Incredible capture Max & Team
Amy ratings on the tornados in AL yesterday?
Was watching this cell go tor-e on radar and it looked terrifying, but that thing is way meaner looking in real life, it's getting so much inflow it's insane. Great footage man.
Another excellent video! The best one I've seen yet! Prayers for everyone affected!
And to so many of us, it’s just another rainy day in the springtime . . . .
Awesome footage and great video
Awesome view! Great work as usual
Your video was epic too man, great job!
Yesterday was horrific.. I'm still shaking. Thank you for this footage.
Calm down Elizabeth
Why did the tornado occur on forest?
Anyone know the EF rating of that tornado? I'm guessing a strong EF-3
You are correct!
I was yelling at your video "go south! Go south...fast!" when you basically said the same thing. What a monster. Wow.
Excellent footage of this storm!!! Thank you Max!
Wow!Thank you for your bravery boys!🙏

They broker my video so it's all good, thanks for looking out though!
What rating of tornado did this end up being?
No idea. It just happened today. No surveys yet. I think this thing had the POTENTIAL of being an EF5 but it didn’t seem to hit anything with it’s full force. So lower is much more likely.
Likely EF3+
They're saying EF3 right now but it could go up still
So very sad...prayers to all ♥️
What was the rating of that tornado?
EF3, maximum width of 1.3 miles and was on the ground for over 80 miles!
It says a lot about the refinement of warning procedures over the past few years that not a single person was killed or even seriously injured by this storm. Watching Spann's coverage as it barreled towards Centreville I was almost certain a mass-casualty incident was in progress. That radar signature was seriously eerie.
Insane drone capture.
Nice video man thanks
Do you also do livestreams?
Usually only during hurricanes, might do a few on bigger tornado events this year.
Amazing video! We stayed in Mississippi and missed all the tornadoes hoping that an isolated cell would get going in that environment.
Awesome drone footage. What do you use in those winds?
Are the cows okay 😦
Prayers to those folk who lost loves ones from this storm.
Even the cows knew what to do.
Oh, does it make music, too?
Dang nice drone footage
Excellent wide shot with the drone.
I don’t know if anyone was hurt or killed-hell, even losing your house is traumatic! So sorry for the victims.
Does anyone know where sean casey is. He is a storm chaser.
That is one gigantic beast.
Omgsh!!!!! INSANE! STAY SAFE!!
Calm down Maggie
Nah, we can sit here for...THERE’S A HOUSE IN THE AIR!
Quit play hype music and let us hear the roar lol
The music was played during the drone shots where there’s no sound lol
holy monster that drone shot of the perfect notch and inflow, sheeeeeeesh. NASTY NASTY
Insane 😮
Wow, back when gas was $2.54/gallon. That aside, awesome footage of this powerful tornado!
Absolutely beautiful captures, in a tragically eerie kind of way! The destruction is heart wrenching. Also watching the cows and wanting to cry because they have no where to go...I can't imagine being in the path with no real shelter. The terror would seem out of a nightmare!
Pretty good Work on this coverage
I'm waiting to hear what the final tally is on the number tornados touched down in this tornado outbreak
Looks to be 23ish yesterday.
Doesn't need the dramatic inception music but great footage

Bro I have reflectivity, velocity and cc drop of this monster tornado. RIP to all the lives that were lost
Poor cows running!!
Wow what a beast
That's an F5 , big wedge
Size does not determine the F scale.
@@terrib627 I know It doesn't but it's just my opinion , this is an F5
oh man i’d like to see that irl- but my condolences to everyone who lost something, lost someone, and everyone who was injured or traumatized.
Crazy Footage Max
Saw this tornado when it made its way between Calera and Columbiana
This looks stronger than the Bassfield/Soso an Western Kentucky Tornado to me but that may just be me
Been a crazy day..
Man that was crazy yesterday... Unbelievable..... That sound was crazy.
Man that was an EPIC video, great footage particularly in the Deep South!

0:42 LOL! Agreed! Me too, man!

Def a F4 coming from OK. We know a thing or two about F5s with being the most in USA.

Turn off that dramatic music, really annoying.

I see people talk about cursing and I watched the video and honestly didn’t hear anything-maybe I’m immune

🌪🌪
Good video. Terrible music. Seriously, let us hear the sounds of the storm not this awful music.
EDIT: Music is over drone video. I'm an idiot.
The drone video has no audio so I decided not to have awkward silence, music fades out where you actually can hear the tornado.
@@MaxOlsonChasing Ahh that's fair. I see the second half has sounds so my apologies.
