  • A teenager says he was shot on the job while delivering a pizza. Caiden Wheeler, 18, says it was was first order of the night. As he pulled up to the home in Ashland City, Tennessee, he mistakenly pulled into the wrong driveway. The two homes were next to each other. After he dropped off the pizza, he got back in his car. That’s when Caiden says he was shot at. Inside Edition Digital has the story.

Aggravated assault is honestly usually the same felony level and penalty as attempted murder in most states. It's also easier to prove, that's why they go with that.

In Tennessee, aggravated assault is a more severe offense than attempted murder. Aggravated assault is considered one of the most severe offenses in Tennessee. The primary difference between the two is the prosecution's ability to prove intent. Attempted murder is the charge if the prosecutor can prove the defendant intended to kill the victim. Aggravated assault is the charge if the evidence shows the defendant intended to seriously injure the victim, or the prosecutor can only prove a lesser intent, meaning it’s much easier to get a conviction for aggravated assault.
