For single player only games, where a very high frame rate isn't what gonna win you a match. I am totally fine with sacrificing some fps in order to get a more vibrant and precise image.

Great trick to hide ghosting behind characters (NPC's). Looking at static scenes with no moving NPC's... thats weak. Only 1:24 is showing a little taste of this.
The game itself is great, but I do often stop and just look at everything in a given area as it does look beautiful with path tracing. Looks docent without it too, worth enabling if you can.

Hey I totally forgot to do that! I usually put my settings in at the end. I have everything turned to maximum except for motion blur, chromatic abberation and film grain (which are all turned off)! Thanks for checkin it out
@@Chrushy Hey, I do for sure. Motion blur makes you lose a ton of clarity when moving around, it might be ok if you're playing at 30fps or below, but I don't like it at 60p and higher. Chromatic aberration is something I've spent a lot of money to avoid in photography lenses, and it's not a desirable trait so I turn that off too. Film grain is a bit more subjective but I find the crisp visuals to be more appealing!
path tracing makes lighting definitely better. But for gpu lower than 4090, upscale is requires for good framerate, so texture is more blur. kinda tradeoff.
Bet you its not even Native Resolution. Its probably using DLSS and thats not a true performance benchmark of the card then. Suppose to test at native resolution to see its real potential.

DLSS Performance doesn't look as good as it does in other titles On the map you see bad shimmering on Performance, much more stable on DLSS balanced This game needs Ray reconstruction
Very good - Shadows are almost 100% realistic from sunlight or noonlight source at PT enabled. But... shadows are not realistic or are missed from artifical light(s) source(s) due to the bad rasterization despite PT enabled. While Portal RTX and Cyberpunk 2077 have almost 100% realism of sun/moon and/or artifical lights.

UE5 has a lot of drawbacks, especially with image consistency. In the context of shading, UE5's implementation of Lumen introduces jarring artifacts such as smearing and blotching (you can see it for yourself, in Epic Games' Matrix demo), whereas Indiana Jones' path tracing so far has created a more sharp and consistent image. Of course, the downside is the caching size. What I'm trying to convey is, every rendering techniques have its drawback, and I think you would come to appreciate it more when you take a step back.
OMG, most games that don't force RT hardware do a better job at lighting and shadows. Yes, path tracing looks nice only on some scenes and in other's it's just lightens them up a little all while tanking the FPS. I'm definitely not impressed with how they handled this game.
Because the games RT is only for Global Illumination. The shadows are not raytraced unless you turn on PT which does a massive difference. You just have to keep in mind that the biggest differences will be seen in-doors where light shines through, rather than in the open world, because that's the areas where light bounces are most prevalent
@albanier8426 the improvements path tracing makes is meh at best considering the overhead. It's almost a wonder if it could be faked by understanding better how shadows get diffused. That said even the RT global illumination is meh to games that don't require hardware RT. Color me not impressed at all.
@@albanier8426 A Geforce RTX4090 costs around €2200-2400 in Germany. Sorry, but I don't pay my entire monthly salary just for a graphics card.
