I've found the dicing side of this item particularly useless. The problem is inherent in it's design. The dicing hand item needs to come down straight, not on an angle. Seriously, I bet they haven't even tested this thing.
As someone who has owned both items- your review was so flawed. Your sumo slicer GRATES yet you tried to slam a carrot through some steel holes instead of grating it .!?! Try gating the carrot next time. Also the sumo slicer quickly looses its grip on the bench and slides- they grating when it keeps moving.
How do you remove the "cover" (see instruction pic). I'm assuming you have to do this to add the slicing blade? I wanted to slice the veggies but couldn't attach slicer, and instructions don't tell you how.
Same, I came to see it. What's the point of a review if leaving out the slicing, literally in the product name, and grating? My guess is slicing was to aim toward the cover perhaps. I will be getting a traditional mandolin after this anyway as I do more slicing than dicing
Your a ningnong!! you need to peel and slice the vegies first, this is great if you are making soups or pasties where the vegetables need to be diced fine.

It says don’t use carrots with the first grater piece. Read the instructions mate, and open the stuff before you start filming. Really poor planning and intelligence. A woman should be testing this anyway.

We also found that same sort of issue, comming down on an angle creates an uneven cut.
