In the “Old Friends” mission do not return to camp after capturing Kiran. Instead, ride to the Mount Hagen shacks to pick up the Valerian root, Barrows Lagoon shack to get the pirate rum, and Cairns lake shack to get the ginseng exilir. After you get them then return with kiran back to camp. Save the game. Reload the game and use the free time to max your health, stamina, and deadeye levels by using the glitch referenced in this video. Once your levels are maxed you can free roam before doing the Who the Hell is Levictus Cornwall mission. The best way to get around is to find a small wagon as soon as you can to help you get around. It is more convenient and you can dismount from it to replenish levels and get on it again. And pretty much most things can be done in this Ch. 1 free roam - Can’t sleep in hotels only in shacks with sleep available - Only Am mo can be purchased from G-smith but found lancaster, pump action, sem eye auto, and double action can be customized. - Levels reduce at normal rate when engaging enemies - Outfits, trinkets in lock boxes, gold bars, pamphlets, vampire clues, dinosaur bones, rock carvings, dream catchers, points of interest, documents, some maps, are available. - Pamphlets cannot be used - Max level horse bonding can be achieved by feeding horse classic oats. But this can only be done after release from jail following arrest. Getting arrested is a good way also to increase honor quickly and also to replenish vital levels. - hats, herbs, temporary horse, and camp fire are unavailable - some challenges can be completed (5 bandit, 8 explorer, 2 sharp shoe ter, 3 wey pons expert) - valentine doc side hustle available, but I suggest you take from doc’s cash register first, then ask him about back room but dont go in. Leave the office and antagonize the sherrif to get arrested. When you leave the jail, you can immediately rinse and repeat with the doc to increase your funds. - strawberry grocer side hustle also available. - also available are 1. helping the house builder near valentine, 2. The railway line builder, 3. Helping the Appleseed timber company foreman. I would hold off on #3 until ch.2 if getting the hat and letter from one of the lumberjacks is important to you. Just discover the possibilities as you go along….You can cover the entire map doing this. It is a lot of fun.
My brother, @Red Dead Apologist used the basic principle in the “Old Friends” approach to free roam post the Charles hunting mission. The difference in the Charles Hunting mission approach is that animals can be skinned and eagle eye is available, but bodies cannot be looted. Love that this is gaining traction. It will inspire other creative ideas for sure.
Well…pushing the envelope even further…I was able immediately after completing the John rescue mission to get the ginseng exilir from Cairns lake, level-8 Arthur’s health by using the jumping on a rock or elevated object method, then work my way to the shack west of Lake Isabella and got the carbine repeater from the frozen guy (jumping on rocks to maintain health level before getting to the corpse). So, Arthur has a carbine repeater even before doing the old friends or charles hunting missions. On my way now to the ODriscoll’s hideout west of mount Hagen to see if I can pre-loot 😊
Hello there, I don't make video's but you might make one for this glitch I found a few years ago. As far as I can tell no-one has recorded this, correct me if I'm wrong but here it is. When you are doing the Weapons Expert challenges a really easy way for the throwing knives and tomahawk parts is ride to Lemoyne and find a raiders camp (look for the smoke) when you get there shoot one of them and quickly ride away until the red aggro marker goes and then ride back and they will all be sitting around completely ignoring you, you can then kill them all any way you need to for the challenges while they just ignore you, I found this hilarious :) Ed: I found out today that if you leave one Raider alive then ride away a distance the camp will reset and still be docile, you can easily get the crafted shotgun ammo part of the Weapons Expert Challenge in no time. Ed: I also found the horses always respawn as well, the same two which was useful for Bandit 6 as I found the Raiders camp just west of Face Rock very near the Horse Fence. Also another thing, there was a nice black horse hitched in Rhodes, instead of just stealing it I brushed and fed it until I got the message we had bonded, then I just jumped on a rode away with no trouble or aggro. :)
Hey man, there’s another ginsing elixir that’s not even a minute away, at cairn lake (on the right of colter on the map) I was able to do it first try and got to inspect Jenny’s grave in chapter 1. Also, didn’t know it was possible to do the item glitch without climbing. Thank you for the info!🤗

@@riccouchman5604someone already made a video on it. Lenny can be disarmed and the weapon will drop on the floor, however there will not be any prompt to pick it up.😢

Is there any way to get Arthur into new Austin without the invisible sniper. A way that isn’t through brontes mission because that stuck at night time. I want to experience new Austin as Arthur without time restrictions or using a buggy or animal to avoid invisible sniper. Thank you for this video and many others of yours I have watched
Unfortunately, so far the Angelo Bronte mission is still the only one. I also want to free roam NA as Arthur in early time. Hopefully there is a way someday

is it possible to find stagecoaches during the glicht to roam and if yes do the horses of the stagecoach survive or die like the other horses?

They can certainly be used, but I find the smaller wagons are better and more convenient to use. Easier to dismount from them to replenish levels.
Can you keep the weapons that you acquire in chapter 1? When i died, i didnt see any weapons on my horse
I think so. Weapons you acquire in chapter1 will be kept as your weapons already.
Yes. All the found weapons in the Ch. 1 free roam will be on your horse and customizable
