What is the typical salary as an in field biomed engineer? Your attitude and perspective to this career is refreshing. Your videos are genuine and its nice to hear about the story that started all of this. If there was any other major/ career out there that you would like to pursue what would it be?
My starting salary as entry level was $65k. I think that is the range my colleagues who graduated in BME with me had as well. And obviously your salary goes up the more you progress in your career and gain more experience. Yes! Definitely go for internships and co-ops during your college years. Not only will it help you network and get connections within the industry, it will help you figure out the kind of jobs you enjoy.
hi! I'm actually considering to go to a biomedical engineering major, but i just have one question in mind. Does the major focus more on math, science, or on what other subject?
Depends on your college program, but at my university there was a balance of both since it is an engineering degree. I took every math from college algebra to calculus 3 and differential equations. Some linear algebra. And I started my freshman year with biology, then chemistry 1 & 2, organic chemistry, anatomy and physiology, genetics, immunology, etc. Most of my sciences were electives that I got to choose but the basic sciences like O.chem and bio are required and unique to BME majors.
Mam I really want to seek guidance from you. I am in 11th and I am looking forward to carry on my career in biomedical engineering but I am totally blank have no idea . Can u plzz help me??
Thank you so much for making this video. I've been trying to decide on one major for university, and with pre admission in October for me, I've been getting more stressed recently. I decided on biomedical engineering but whenever I look at everything else I start to wonder if this would be for me so this video helped me gain more insight about what I would want. Is it alright if I email you with questions about your profession. Once again thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video, as it provided a lot of clarity. I’m a senior biomedical engineering major with one more year left and I still have a few questions for you regarding how you were able to narrow your job field down to the cardiac division. How long were you in undergrad and do you have any suggestions for those who are close to graduating? Did you only apply to one post graduate job? How much were you paid as an entry level engineer and did you have any internships while in undergrad? What do they check for in the interviews like the specific questions if you roughly remember any? Also, Do you have an email address that we can reach you at? I know these are a lot of questions but I’d love the answers for each of them. Thank you for being a BME and good luck!
Hey there! I’m still in high school but I’m really interested in what you do. I’ve been looking around and can’t find a job like yours, so I was wondering what your job title is? Is it biomedical engineer? Medical devices sales rep? Or something different?
The title is called clinical specialist and sometimes cardiac device specialist or even field clinical engineer. You don't necessarily need to be a biomedical engineer to become a device rep. Some hires are RNs or tech with cardiac field experience. However, I've noticed a trend in hiring BME for these positions recently. Hope this helps!
I don't know if I should follow biomedical engineering or biomedical sciences, which one will have the most impact on human health and longevity? biomedical enginering is going to be more promising and more entrepreneurial opportunities in the future, right? biomedical engineering is the most suitable for medical nanorobos (that will help us, being within our bloodstream) and machine-person interface/ upload the mind to a computer? which one will have the most impact on cryonics, to conserve humans to resurrect later? in short: will human health and longevity be closer to science or technology?
I just came upon your videos!! They are absolutely great(: I am a senior in high school whose dream is to pursue biomedical engineering. However, I am going to a community college to pursue computer science instead... Any advice for me?
Hi, I'm a Biomedical engineer too (both bachelor's and master's). I have a question: what do you mean when you say that biomedical engineering gives you all the pre-requisites to access med school? I mean, do you have to get a bachelor's and master's and then you can go to med school? Maybe it's confusing to me because I'm not from the US and I do not entirely know how the education system at the university level works. Here where I live you can go to either engineering or med school but choosing one doesn't necessarily give you any plus/requisites to get into the other
Lorenzo Alloni here in the US you need a bachelors degree before getting into med school so you have a whole diploma before being able to study to be a doctor or a lawyer ...
Hi Is biomedical engineering really hands on considering your specific work position. Also, can you tell me about the work environment and wether it is time consuming and stressful?
Hi Rah, thank you for sharing, is the company you work for biotronik? :), I am a biomedical engineer who is been trying to get into field clinical specialist role, it has been tough to break into. I had series of interviews, even one with stryker with gallup and everything for a neuro scanner device , I am just really about give up on this goal or maybe go back to school for something else, I am getting discourage with my degree in biomedical engineering, as you know it was a lot work to get it done, but your videos are hopeful. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
No, not biotroniks but thats the industry I'm in. I'm so sorry its been tough for you. . .I know it is a difficult industry to crack into and can be very discouraging. When I was interviewing, my current company was the only one that I heard back from. I know for cardiac devices there are certain certification programs that train on their basic functions and programing and they might help make your resume look more attractive? Also a lot of part time/ contract work can turn into a full time job opportunity.

As for pursuing another major in the STEM field I would have done mechanical engineering but my dream job has always been acting hahaha
@@theadventuresofrah hahah thats why you do acting classes! Honestly what is so great about you is that it seems like even when you've committed to one thing, you still have other goals in mind too. Did you ever audition anywhere ?
Thanks for video keep going 🤠 greeting from Morocco

Good day Girl!!! Love Ya!!! 🖤
Can you tell us what college you went to? I’m a sophomore on a college search and an all engineering college sounds awesome😁!
I went to Stevens Institute of Technology. Good luck on your college search!
@@theadventuresofrah do you have any idea about any full scholarship for international students in Ur country or in Stevens institute of technology college
Hi,
I'm guessing you're a CRM rep? Bsci? I work in EP as well, ablation side and I relate to what you do
Thank you so much for making this channel! I hope one day I can thank you for all those great tips! Do you recommend going for internships or co-op to get that industry experience you were suggesting?
@@RemindMeToRead I wanna do biomed so bad but I’m just so worried but the job prospects where I live :(
Mam I really want to seek guidance from you. I am in 11th and I am looking forward to carry on my career in biomedical engineering but I am totally blank have no idea . Can u plzz help me??
great video. love your approach
I am also a biomedical engineer student...i m from india my dream is to work in USA.hope one day❤️
Thank you so much for making this video.
Thanks for making such content have a nice day
I loved your video so much! Where did you study?
That’s a shame you couldn’t reap the benefits for your patent. DuPont did the same thing to Stephanie Kowlek when she made Kevlar.
I'm watching all ur vidoes😭😭
I just came upon your videos!! They are absolutely great(: I am a senior in high school whose dream is to pursue biomedical engineering. However, I am going to a community college to pursue computer science instead... Any advice for me?
Is it a lot of math & work?
haha yes!
You are so smart..👌
Hi
Is biomedical engineering really hands on considering your specific work position.
@@theadventuresofrah , hi Rah, thank you so much for the reply and the tips, I truly appreciate it very much! I have look into those programs, such ATI and Prep MD, for cardiac pacing certifications, still thinking about it, due the cost of the program is quite is a lot, right now due to covid a lot of my job applications are on hold, lots of companies are on hiring freeze at the moment. It's really tough, especially when you are just starting. I truly enjoy your videos, it's nice that someone is out there, like you, representing how it is to work in our field, especially as clinical specialist, I wish you all the best! :)
Jesan Kristine Suasin it is such a difficult time so don’t take it too hard on yourself! I truly believe that things work out well in the end. Take it easy and stay healthy ☺️
The Adventures of Rah , thank you so much , that’s what my mom told me too ☺️, thank you rah ! You stay safe as well too , especially around this time. ☺️
I honestly understand how you’re feeling. I’m in the same situation. I graduated 5months ago and I’ve interviewed with so many companies even GE and I didn’t hear anything back. I really I’m getting tired too so I understand you. If you want us to link up please let me know maybe we can help each other out or give each other emotional support when we feeling down. And yes Covid-19 just made it harder.
How do you get a job like this in the medical field? This is exactly what I am hoping to do with my BME degree but i feel like it is very difficult to not be working in an office setting as an engineer.
Your videos have been very useful, i am aspiring to become a biomedical eng but my family says the pay and promotion opportunities isnt much. It wld be very helpful if you share your salary range and at what position you work currently. Thank you so much
Thank you for your channel~ Did you have to work on lots of projects during uni, and study a loooot? Did you have to write lots of research papers too? And what do u think of the salary hahah :)
I am a class of 2020 senior and i am thinking about going to biomedical engineering school, any advice about it or how can i find information about the programs? BTW i love your videos, just subscribed!!
Your videos are so helpful but can I be a biomedical engineer even if I'm not good at designing and creating machines and does this field have a lot of job opportunities ?
Hello. I am an international student and I was to do BME as my premed. Right now I am in full IB (international baccalaureate) and I do Chem HL, Biology HL and Math HL. Do I need to take Physics Hl? We aren’t allowed to do 3 sciences
I was wonder if chemistry compulsory for biomedical engineering? Because I am going to study A-level and I am bad in chemistry 🥲
Thanks
Im currently doing electrical and computer systems engineering and will be graduating soon. I had a few projects on electrical medical devices and programming on medical scans and i found it to be where my interest is. So Im thinking of pursuing bme career. In your opinion, would you say medical or biological background is a major advantage?
what is your job title?
My daughter applied to different university to study bioengineering. She is having a hard time trying to decide which one to choose. She is accepted in Penn State University, Ohio State University, Michigan State University and University of Pittsburg. Do you have any input on any of these schools for this major?
How can i contact you:(?
Its necessary..
Hey girl ! I just came across your video and channel. Your videos seem very helpful; I’m gonna binge watch them lol! I’m gonna be a senior next semester and I’m pursuing Biomedical engineering as well. I wanted to ask you some specific questions about your job. Do you have Instagram or is it okay if I could get your email or add you on linked in ?
Hi I accidentally noticed this video while i was looking for some information .Im a undergraduate student and im doing a biomedical engineering degree . Im searching for a path for my masters, I could take technology or bioscience , BUT I think im not a lab person, I love to work in a hospital , just like you. Im confused which way i should take to get there, can you give me some information about that?
Hello Rah, so I am CAD designer for a civil engineering firm, but I am making plans to get back into college this Fall. I read in one of the comments you stated if you would go back you would study mechanical engineering. Why is that? How different are these 2 degrees pertaining to your field? I am definitely torn between the two.
Thanks.
Thank you, that was really informative!!
Do you think it would be easier to find a job, if you've studied biomedical science and then go from that to BME?
Hello! I would really like to get a bachelors degree in Germany and work as a biomedical engineer in the future. Doing my research, I’ve found out that there are almost no biomedical engineering undergraduate degree programs in Germany so I’ve resorted to make studying something else and then getting a Masters in BME my second option. What do you recommend someone study as a bachelors in a situation like mine?

hello!
I’m an undergrad majoring in BME but I was wondering if you were in the pre-med program or was that something not offered to you?
So like when you graduate you would apply for a job at a hospital?
Do you have a Instagram dedicated to your TH-cam page ?
would you please tell us which courses or diplomas would be best to get a job in hospital sector or in which course should a biomedical graduate mostly spent a time in learning?

What is your job title at the hospital? 😀
Hello ma'am
are you biomedical engineer. Can you send me your email ID
Does it need bachelor in your job?
Is it diificult to get a job in BME?
Is there age limit for pursuing BME
there really isn't an age limit in pursuing any career including BME. As long as you have a high school diploma or GED you can apply to a college with a BME major.
I am currently studying biomedical engineering. Do you have any tips for biomedical engineering students and getting involved in research?
