Mark, great job sequencing these moves. Even though you’ve KIND OF given us a lot of your programming ideas/philosophies, I still bought your kettlebell swing program to support u. Saving for 2 hand club program. Keep up the great work😊

Mark, your teaching approach is phenomenal! I love the way you share your knowledge. You are so incredibly patient and diligently educate with your methods. Thank you!
I’m of a very similar physical size as you at 6ft 4in (194 cm) and 105 kg (230 lbs). I was 130 kg (286 lbs) but lost weight during the pandemic through Functional Patterns and Wildman Athletica.
I noticed you sweat a lot. I too sweat like a human Niagara Falls and that’s because I have hyperhidrosis-so I’m curious if you have the same?
Anyway, aside from the personal overshare on a public forum, I do genuinely appreciate your content and the way you are so diligently detailed in a way that makes picking up the habits to become a functional human possible!

Use older guys play disc golf, especially here in Maine. Do you have anything specific for that throwing pattern? Thanks!

    • @cioran1754
      @cioran1754 ปีที่แล้ว

Just watched a short of a Jeremy Koling nailing a disc drive.
It reminded me of a discus pattern on the backhand ( no surprises there ! ) , the forehand brings in an elbow movement that reminded me of clubbell mills, albeit in a different plane.
Mark has videos in a playlist 'discobolus of myron', using different kit.
If this is a good reasoning, you might get some ideas in there, I'm thinking hydrocore, but maybe that's cause I'm also thinking frisbees.
You'd work up to single hand clubbell mills.
Some combo of those (single-hand clubbell ; hydrocore / two-hand club ; kettlebell) , would be awesome for you guys I feel, but that's just a starter!
      What do others reckon?

Excellent instructions. There's a very similar move with the Bulgarian bag, called the Side Load I believe; the bag ends up across the back of your shoulders, allowing you to transition smoothly into a squat.

Mark: I think this video is a good opportunity to ask my nagging question. Due do health reasons, I have programmed an A-B program for 3 days a week. The other days are Zone 2 cardio which I need to do. I My A is kettlebell swings and clean & press. My B day is SA club. Inside circles, outside circles, and shield cast. I also have your 2A club program although I have not yet started it. I have been wondering if I should continue with SA or switch to 2A. I have been doing SA for about a year now with my Adex and am currently at 12.5 lbs 7 sets of 5 for each.

    • @Travishibachi87

If you want to continue with SA club you would want to build up to 20x5 for each side for each exercise. This gives you a total of 600 reps which is a lot of volume. As long as you're focusing on fixation and breathing then that means you will get 600 reps of quality volume. I worked up to 20x5 for IC, OC and shield cast at 15, 17.5 and 20 lbs. Then I went through mill/squat program starting at 20# working up to 35#. Single arm is great if you want to correct imbalances between dominant and non-dominant side. 2H club is great if you're trying to do rotational strength training. There is more rotation in 2H club vs SA club but SA club is great for shoulder health and developing neuromuscular symmetry between the two sides of the body. All depends on what your goals are 🙂💪

I had being doing 2-H only after dropping 1-H.
After the 6-minute 1-H video I've started doing that format on lighter days. So a scaled back version of 1-H, still going to increment weight / complexity but volume not as intense.
Could you incorporate a pared-down version of 1-H to go into some zone-2 days, while introducing the 2-H programme which you have.
Possible to try that for first weight @ levels 1 & 2 ( 8 sessions / 4 weeks ) , and review, you get to suss out the 2-H programme while not completely dropping your 1-H stuff.
Main reason I'd do this, a premium on the 2-H programme currently, and a change is a good as a rest as they say ;)
