    Drivers that actually get out of the way, a rarity.

    It is because of all the hills in and around the downtown core. So stations Ladders 1, 4, 10 tend to be three axle rigs.

      It’s an automated system. The county where my dad works the EMS dispatcher for all public ambulance services use an automated system and it does it on the MDTS in the EMS rigs where my dad works. It’s freaky.

    SFD is also one of the few cities that show their calls in real-time on the dept web site. Combine that with the live scanner from KOMO news and you can listen in and follow all the action.

    That fan is a Mobile Ventilation Unit, Chicago has 2 & is used to clear bldgs of heavy smoke & can also be used as a mister to cool people during large events, There is video of the Chicago unit at work on here somewhere.

    hell yeah i agree, i only ask, because in england the emergency vehicle drivers do it most of the time, but in england its only courtesy to move out of the way, there is no law requiring you to allow them to pass,which in my eyes is wrong, i dont know if there is a particular law in the usa or in any state that makes it mandatory to move out of the way,,

    • @kevino3866
      @kevino3866 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Benito Gonzales How come you don't have a ID? or are you under age 16? But to answer your question, when I did community service many years ago, I did not need ID. Just filled out a few papers that pretty much said the fire dept is not responsible for any injury or death. But I did this as community service, doubt any dept will let you ride along just cause you want to. Best of luck

    3 axle because the 105' steel ladder is heavy. My truck has an 85' steel ladder w/ a bucket... that's 25K # by itself.

    Why firefighters where headphones inside the apparatus well its not just a headphone its for communication with each other and the distpatch while there inside the apparatus and other responding unites.so you're emergency first responders in Europe probably use handheld devices to communicate with there dispatch just like we use to do here in United States.but now our communication radio we use now days are digital vhs uhs 800mhz system.

    Love to see my hometown. I'll take more form Seattle fire anytime. FYI, for the comments below, all Seattle trucks are tillers. They love them and that's all they use. They are super maneuverable. I wish my truck was a tiller, but we don't use too many in the Phoenix area anymore.

    1. Why are they wearing Headphones while driving? Is that EngineSound so much louder than Trucks in Germany?
    2. I´m interested in that "TabletPC" were the CoDrive works on. Can someone tell me a Name of that so i can search in TH-cam for that?

    No offense to the Truck LOL but don't you think the company needs to get better sirens (they are so dull) But Keep the Truck the Truck is BO$$ end where the FireMan Sit That is Some Leg Room LOL
    Congrats you got a Sub 😏

    • @allen480
      @allen480 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The truck has a Federal Sig. EQ2b 200 watt electronic siren with flush mounted (on the bumper) dual driver speaker. The speaker is highly directional so the majority of its sound is projecting forward. Thats why , in the cabin) it sounds(dull). The sound is generated using DSP; digital signal processing. This makes it possible to very closely sound like the traditional mechanical EQ2B. Most apparatus are now using the “e” version for reducing in cab hearing loss . The older mechanical is still being manufactured and commonly sold to Fire-Rescue services that want them. Hope this helps.

      Wrong. Completely wrong. You ALWAYS pull to the right, and stop. Say it with me. "Pull to the right, and stop". Not the left. Not the middle. Not stopping in place. You pull to the right, and stop.
      Why? Because ambulances and fire engines are trained to pass on the left. That's the safe side. If you pull to the left, you could pull in front of the truck, causing an accident. How do I know all this? I'm an EMT. I drive an ambulance every day.
