Sure is beautiful country you live and farm in. Love your drone work !!! The one thing that I respect about you is you never get upset. I swear you could have a barn burn And as long as animals are out and people are safe you could sit in a lawn chair and drink a beer. Great quality you have !!!!
Andy showing all the different things we'll call it .on the different crops shows the end user of YOURS and others products. Just whwt it takes to supply it. You my friend are doing an outstanding job with funnys. Thanks for another great vid.
Wow. I am so impressed with that sharpener. We had to unbolt ours and put them on a bench to do that. (Showing my age here, perhaps) . Terrific videos.
Great video.Just wondering,What can't you do and what don't you know about about about the entire spectrum of your farm?if you ever decide that it's time to retire,it will take twenty able bodies to fill your shoes.
I’m Glad ya Hire out Some of the Expensive Spraying Job’s! At Some Point There’s a Time To Delegate Some Work! Great Content on the Drops on the Sprayer! And You we’re Lucky that Stone Didn’t Crush!👍👍🍀🍀🍺🍺
Thanks for the Drone footage, beautiful scenery. Great clarification as always keep the action coming. Definitely look you up at the next one. Stay safe!!
Hope you guys are getting more rain out in western NY than we are getting here in Eastern NY. We aren't getting second cutting ours is so thin you can pretty much roll whole fields into 1 windrow and our corn is shriveling up. We are dry
Dad used to sell liquid fertilizer and i would apply it for the farmers in the evenings. So your little excursion brings back memories. Looks like your top feed roll needs some dental work! Your new magnate cost about a third of what I thought it would! I'm never good at estimating the cost parts these days.
Andy, I will say one thing preventative is better than passive and you always try to prevent expensive repairs . And work hard doing as does the whole family top notch
We did ours last week. I don’t know what you guys are paying but here it was another $100/acre. We can’t keep payin these prices for fertilizer. Might level by the fall. Anyways, your corn looks good. It’s a great time of year for corn field tours
Question, why do farmers leave a single tree in the middle of there fields. Could you shed some light on this. Thanks in advance. Great video once again.
Hey Andy, I hear people aren't happy with a "honey jar" you want to build:) I don't know what people expect when they live in the country. It reminds me of a couple that moved to Homer from NYC and called the police because the neighbor's cows were too loud. LOL
Im not a deere chopper fan, I chased the claas around for 10 years and had my guys make 10 passes across the knives every hour and they all saw a difference in length of cut and fuel used, just a thought, from Vermont
I only sharpen once a day when the chopper is clean.I don’t disagree at all with you,I won’t have a chopper left if I sharpen at all after anything is chopped.
The dairy guys next to my property here in East Central Georgia have their chopper in a corn field all primed to cut. It's been on and off raining here for the last several days so I guess the corn might be too wet to chop.
Andy, I think a lot of people would be interested in knowing more about the drone and how it works. I understand to run one like yours you have to log in or something? I want to buy one but some people say it's a hassle to do the logins. You could probably have half a video of content on a drone explanation and "training" class since you are a pro-experienced user. Thanks!
I have used a couple different drones from DJI, the only reason for “logging in” is if the controller needs your phone as a viewfinder. Then you log into DJI’s app for connecting to the drone. It’s very easy. I grew up flying nitro rc airplanes, drones are way easier lol it’s just a camera in the sky, not an airplane. Main thing to be aware of with drones is your local laws about them.
Well Andy, hearing you talk about sharpening those knives just spawned a thought and that is people don't realize the work we do to keep them fed and the work it takes to do it right to the uninitiated dull knives don't mean anything but you and I we know you want that theoretical cut to be right so that the cows can fully utilize the feed and also that dull knives cost extra diesel fuel. It's all well and good to be a big outfit like you guys but so many of them don't stop and take time to make sure the quality of the feed as well as quality I really enjoy watching you folks because I like to see the attention to detail that you pay. Many people don't realize that the good efficient dairies are the ones that pay attention to details in these days a high prices for everything and shortages and supply chain challenges and so on all that we can't control but we can do our quality control and I'm happy to see how you guys do that
Maybe hire a custom chopper service to chop for a season. For what that chopper has cost to keep going the last year and half ? They can find the wire and rocks.
I noticed you only did 2 finishing cycles, I work for a Deere dealership as a chopper mechanic and I see a big with knifes staying more even and staying sharper longer by doing half as many finishing cycles as advance cycles
Nice video. Since nobody mentioned it I take it that it's normal for the stone to be rattling around like that on deeres? If my machine was doing that I'd freak out and shut it down.
Sometimes the tree that was left in the middle of the field was what shaded a team of horses while doing field work. Other times it was a tree that they used to use for ropes and pulley’s pulling other trees with horses clearing land
I guess I’ve not paid enough attention the past videos, but when you unhook from a head on the chopper does it have drop down stands or something or can you just set it on the ground?
Hi Andy loving the videos as usual has your chopper got a stone detector a lot of the newer choppers in the UK now have stone detectors as well as metal?
Wow! Very impressive! I never realized farming can be exciting.
Thanks for the video Andy. 👍🏻. 👋🏻 Sarah
Andy, those are some beautiful fields. No one can say Upstate Western NY isn't gorgeous. We might have goofy politics but the countryside is gorgeous
Saw Sarah waving - Hi Sarah - keep trucking thru the fields
I sure do like to see those neat straight rows. Looks nice Andy.
As always we love the videos!!!
That sprayer was really kool to see and you have some nice looking fields I wish I could live out in the country side like you
👋🏻👋🏻Sarah!! That sprayer was really cool. Thank Brian for allowing us to see a little bit of what he does. Thanks for sharing Andy!!!
The drone footage is awesome, I like seeing the farm land surrounded by wildlife habitat.
Hey Andy !
Thanks to show us what you are doing .
Have a good day Andy Hourigan the great !
Hello from Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada great videos thanks for sharing

Great quality you have !!!!
Hello from northern Wyoming, Andy you have some beautiful country. Some day I would love to make it out there.
Great footage and good looking fields and surroundings🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Andy great video, your corn looks really good. Drone footage really shows how beautiful the country is in your area.
Awesome corn crop

Nice video good drone shots Andy
Thanks for the aerial footage. You have no idea how much I miss hilly countryside like that.
Really flat down here in Eastern NC.
Thanks Andy for your time and consideration top job top team awesome 🤠🛠️🔧🚛🚜🚜🚜
I enjoyed the video. Looks like everything is going well 👍
Thanks Andy for the great videos
Beautiful countryside!🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Awesome vid Andy… liked tha camera work. Ur good
Great video.Just wondering,What can't you do and what don't you know about about about the entire spectrum of your farm?if you ever decide that it's time to retire,it will take twenty able bodies to fill your shoes.
Unfortunately you are more correct than you even know . Succession plans are difficult.

another good video I always look forward to seeing your videos, I go into withdrawals and have to watch reruns
Thanks for the Drone footage, beautiful scenery. Great clarification as always keep the action coming. Definitely look you up at the next one. Stay safe!!
Gone from wet to dry here now it’s crazy and gotta love our NY rocky ground
Yes sir indeed
One of the best yet, thank you.
Brilliant video 💪🏻 🏴
Great Video to the nines as always
Great job hauling silage Sarah
Thanks Andy, nice video.
😊👍
Great video Andy
Thanks for the ride in the sprayer.. impressive, to say the least.
Waved back at Sarah.. thanks.
Awesome drone footage Andy
You make super relaxing videos man, hell yeah.
Thanks

Not good

Your hard on the equipment! I've done my share of rock picking with the wind row header.
that is some super nice hay that would make a steer milk!! 👍👍
lol
That knife sharpening process is cool. Corn looks good!
That one high maintenance....high dollar machine. Hope she keeps chopping good for ya.
Andy you need to tighten you sharpping stone holder,it will work a lot smoother and won't be jumping around..
Andy, I will say one thing preventative is better than passive and you always try to prevent expensive repairs . And work hard doing as does the whole family top notch
Your Busy as usual Andy. Crops
Looking good hope all goes well. Thanks Andy
If they could make mergers with magnets and rock traps, if that"s even possible, maybe it would cut down on such damage.
I would at least send someone out and check the fields after they are planted. Way cheaper than fixing those cutting heads.
In some places, they roll fields every year to push rocks back down after "thaw heave". Interesting idea
Enjoyed the video Andy

@Richard Homan yeah, it’s hopefully still making money but we feed it all.
Andy's big sprayer power!
Hydraulic hoses normally are a Wanna Do It--Gonna Do It-- Have to Do It type, process on my farm to!!
Question, why do farmers leave a single tree in the middle of there fields. Could you shed some light on this. Thanks in advance.
Great video once again.
Because it's a nice tree that deserves to live?
Or the tree is a marker for a sink hole ,big Boulder, old well etc
Thanks so much for giving me some insight really appreciate it.
I was always told it was a spot to rest the horses while they were working ground. But all the reasons make sense.
I remember the man walk getting the drone out of tree.

nice one

Andrew I find it comforting that you get stoned too...although I don't get stoned the same way that you do...
Wrap the hydro lines in sleeve/spiral wrap.
Do you fella’s not roll in the spring? Common practice here in the UK, pushes the stones back down after the frost and helps the grass tiller too.
No we don’t

Nice crop
Will we see Sarah running the Chopper this year?
Maybe hire a custom chopper service to chop for a season.
For what that chopper has cost to keep going the last year and half ?
They can find the wire and rocks.
Nobody can get the rocks yet. Everyone has a metal detector on the big units now
Yes
I noticed you only did 2 finishing cycles, I work for a Deere dealership as a chopper mechanic and I see a big with knifes staying more even and staying sharper longer by doing half as many finishing cycles as advance cycles
Really
That’s why on the screen it’s adds finishing cycles as you add more advance cycles. In corn I do more finishing cycles then advance cycles
Ouch.
That’s secret sauce Andy. Secret sauce. Lol
Man, you’re having a rough go with the stones this year it seems.
I remember all the wire
Enjoyed the friendly wave don’t think she Is camera shy anymore
Nice video. Since nobody mentioned it I take it that it's normal for the stone to be rattling around like that on deeres? If my machine was doing that I'd freak out and shut it down.
Oh
What? Sarah isn't responsible for maintenance of her truck? I'm sure she could do it as capable as she is with everything!
Corn looks Bud
Isn't there some kind of armor sleeve that can slip over the hydraulic hoses to protect them from abrasion ?
Yeah
She's "High Maintenance", that chopper.
High production = significant maintenance, trade off.
looks nice country side you chopping in now
You mean a nightmare, stopping every row to pick out wire.
Not catch the last video…pffffft. You’re crazy. 😂😂😂😂
👍👍👍
Question, why do farmers leave a single tree in there fields. I’ve always wonder about this. Could you shed some light to it. Thanks in advance.

Why do you hire out the spraying of your crops verse doing them yourself? Is it cheaper or more cost effective. I was just wondering
They do a good job
Thanks again 🌽🌽🚜🚜
Isn't there a machine that can remove stones from a field ? Seems like I saw one somewhere, maybe it was made on the farm where it was being used.
You can get rock pickers but it would be hard to justify for the harvest lifting a few here and there
@@gregshearer423
Thanks, a rock picker is probably what I saw but didn't know what it was called.
😊👍
How in the world does your head pickup 3lb rocks like that? Is it the merger doing it and putting it in the windrow?
Must be
Always repairs some easy some difficult. Did any of your crops hurt by the micro burst?
Yeah I see that too online this morning the Skaneateles and surrounding area looks like they got some nasty wind
Some hail
if my old memory serves , that roll isnt too old / acres ???
4,000
Hi Sarah...
Hi any update on the 9560?
Engine
I guess I’ve not paid enough attention the past videos, but when you unhook from a head on the chopper does it have drop down stands or something or can you just set it on the ground?
There is legs that need to be set down
@@FarmingFixingFabricating I just saw Sarah waving at the camera at the end. 😂😂😂
Hi Andy loving the videos as usual has your chopper got a stone detector a lot of the newer choppers in the UK now have stone detectors as well as metal?
Yes it does that’s one it detected
Opps if it doesn’t rain it pees 😂
When you sharpen the knives on the salage chopper what keeps the sparks from catching it on fire?
A nice clean chopper that's been all blown off
Nothing other than not having a accelerant present
That looked like a full crop of hay.
Do you own the woods you flew over on that new farm?
No that’s rented ground there but where the sprayer was we own that one
could you tell me when the USA is going to start living in 2022 ,and not in 1800 as it does at present
In reference to what?
We follow in everybody else’s foot steps
Just wondering does the wheels of the sprayer not destroy the corn it's driving over?
Drives between the rows
is this the farm where duffy uploaded the stone with the green gobbler
Yes
You ever run one of those self propelled sprayers?
No
Is there any benefit to harvest crops at night versus day or both
No
