    Some of the best mods you can do to it handling wise are some bc coilovers or tein springs and shocks, front strutbrace, tegiwa torque dampner and rear whiteline anti roll bar. i also recommend getting an induction kit. Ive got an apexi induction kit on my tsport, mounted straight to the throttle body and it sounds amazing. Exhaust wise, i reccomend you go decat with one resonator, as without one it will sound really fkn bad, so get a nice resonator on, and get like at least a 2.25” pipe, preferably 2.5”. Also get in touch with EMS northampton, they know the tsports in and out, they sell ECUs and tune the tsports and so on. With some mods and a little bit of money, these tsports are great pocket rockets & dailys. Reliable asf.

    Defo a street car. Here's my thoughts:
    - Bags (if they're not mental price?) or coilovers or probably springs.
    - Wrap it in matte or gloss black.
    - make yourself or get a massive BQR cross sticker made in chrome silver or chrome gold (maybe rose gold?)
    - Place the sticker over the back of the car, over the window and panels.
    - Rims of your choice.
    Generally keep it clean and make it a presentable promo car, it's fun and different. The exhaust is good as it is and probs better when it's fixed. Maybe after a year or two as a promo car you can track it. Having two track cars might not be a great idea. Maybe use it as a fun weekender or something to bang around tracks in poorer weather so you've less chance of binning the Cupra.

    T sports you got the 1.5L engine, Body kit including the TTE wing, sun roof, rear disks, AC, 15" wheels and with some a TTE exhaust. There is two shapes to the MK1 the Phase 1 and Phase 2. Your's is the Phase 1. VVT-i is not toyota's Vtec. VVTL-i is and is found in the 1.8 2zz engine in the corolla and celicas. VVT is a cam adjuster that adjusts the timing on the cam in order to move the toqure and power range about and also improve MPG. The i stands intelligent as the ECU learns how to drive and alter the map. Stuff to do to it. Tein springs, whiteline rear ARB and change the shocks out for some factory replacements!

    So the vvt-i stands for variable valve timed intelligence it has a variable valve cam pulley to give optimum valve timing/performance across the rev range, Toyota's vtec is the vvtl-i (L=lift) system which is found in the Celica and the corolla t-sport models, those yaris are pretty much bomb proof they suffer usually from noisy output shaft bearing in gear box, corroded sills under the side skirts and timing chain rattles, I was ex service tech for toyota when these were about other than that they are pretty good.

  • @Louiebmx16
    @Louiebmx16 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    To answer your question It doesn't have "toyotas vtec" which is vvtl-i and not vvt-i, also some cool features with these cars is that the back seats are on rails so they slide back and forth allowing more boot space (handle under the front of the rear seat)also some have trays under the front seats which come in handy and the hand brake on these are amazing for skids when they work😂I'd sell tbh,one of the worst hatchbacks I've owned for handling and I found it fast to 70 but after that it completely dies off,the gear ratios are pretty terrible

  • @lexcoles
    @lexcoles 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do have a soft spot for an old tsport, had two in the past. Rear light seals and front ARB drop links are two common things to check over, plenty of poly kits about for the links... TTE is a factory piece, MK2 wings can be made to fit and look a lot nicer, garage vary lip is a must too. Exhaust manifolds are prone to cracking / leaks too.

    Had one of these myself, same colour, I put it on RE002 Bridgestone Potenzas and they were stupid grippy (195 50 15) instead of the silly OEM ones, the wheels are prone to corrosion quite often but besides that generally pretty solid little things, keep an eye on the head gasket as apparently they can go (never had an issue with mine though)
    Nippy little things and good fun to say the least, they went very much under the radar purely because the Saxo VTR was being offered with free insurance so the Yaris never sold as much as it probably should have
    Also the rear seats slide forward and back to give more legroom or boot space (handle in the boot)

    You’ll have to spend quite a lot to get it running stupid proper but I’d love to see a project on this and get it to 300bhp 😬👀

    Toyota Team Europe TTE make factory parts usually for the t-sport models. Yaris, Corolla, Celica etc. They built the old rally cars back in the day

    Definitely should be a cheap track day car that can also be used as company promotion.

    The T-Sports are so hard to find around my area! Genuinely have to travel 100 miles+ just to find a clean(ish) one. I don’t personally like them because of the interior but still cool looking. Would be a banging one to do little bits to and flip it for profit, some young chap will come and buy it for their first car, can see it happening now😂

    TTE is Toyota team Europe (WRC) if that’s a genuine wing and badge it’s worth a bit, looks tidy that can’t wait to see what you do with it!

    Had one of these for my 1st car, I was 17 and it was quicker than all my mates cars which is all that mattered back then 😂 Loved it. So much so that I’ve still got it 5 years later 👌
