Nice comparison but you would need to make space in the luggage for the pump for the vacuum saver bags cuz you're gonna need the pump to pack your clothes on your return trip. So the vacuum bags would take up a bit more room with the pump.
1. You should get vacuum bags that is the size of the suitcase; 2. You need also to put the pump into the bag; 3. If you bring several smaller vacuum bags with the pump, you will save the most space.
I have only ever purchased the "roll up" bags (from the dollar store!). They work pretty good. I do like your option of the vacuum bag but I would never have a vacuum in my hotel room to use and I don't think I want to bring a pump with me (on my personal backpack) because I have very limited room in my backpack when traveling & the reason I would use these vacuum bags would be to fit more into my backpack so I don't have to pay for luggage. :) Also, with the roll up bags you zip it up but leave a corner open then roll from the bottom and the air comes out at the zippered corner you left open. When done zip it the rest of the way. :)
Great points! Yah both bags are good to use on vacation and I'm was really surprised that they do save a lot of space. Glad you like them too and thanks for watching!
The real problem and question is how long do they last? The vacume bags compress and shrink down great but don't hold the seal very long and eventually reinflate and expand. I'd like to know if there are any vac bags out there that won't break seal and hold longer?
Thank you for this review. I travel a lot and my space is always full. I like that there is a portable vacuum too. I should do couponing too. This is such a sweet deal for less than $5 for both products. Thanks for this review!
The bags with the pump are a lot better bag. The pump pumps out more air and flattens the better. A whole lot better! The pump bag is better hands down. Janice
To be more of a fair comparison you need to pack the pump in with the first bags as well since you would need that for the return trip. That would make the space savings a lot closer between the 2.
Not sure if anyone else said this but I think for the roll up on you weren't supposed to seal it all the way. I have the same.type and for mine you're supposed to put the clothes in, seal it but leave a bit of it unzipped, roll it out, and then finish sealing it after all the air has been removed.
yah that would of made it easier to zip up after. I read on my box to seal it up and press the air out but that made it harder. i like your way better!
@steph v @phantastic family I wonder if doing it like this or just trying to do it flat all together could help save more space. I love this idea because then you don't have to carry the pump too. Also wonder after having to carry the pump, does it actually save any more space? Sure wish we got a few tips where these coupons came from to make this such amazing deal!

Phantastic Family thanks for your reply ..... it is greatly appreciated ...
Could put shoes and other accessories on top of the bag
hi, just wondering if the roll up storage bag can be vacuumed to remove the air as well? Thanks in advance!
There isn't a hole where you can vacuum the air out, but I guess you can try to vacuum as much air out from the main opening then close it real fast
will these bags work in any vacuum?
Sorry, didn't try. The vacuum that came with it screws on so you may have to use the one that comes with it
Which of the two is best for preventing clothes from wrinkles?
They're both going to make the clothes wrinkle a lot since you're compressing the bags. Roll up bag may be a little less wrinkles I think
I'm trying to store around 2000 high end dress shirts. Will this work long term?? I'm sure I'll have to buy a lot. Seems like a viable option though.
Yes it should work. I have dress shirts and sweaters vacuumed up
if you’re trying to create a single carryon bag then it would be smart to vacuum seal all the clothes then put the pump in the bag as well.
Also let as much air out PRIOR to sealing it
God damn how many sweat pants you own? Where you going on vacation, mattress firm?😂😂💀💀
So, wouldn't you use the extra space for shoes and/or toiletries, instead of more clothes?
Yes I would, just showing how much clothes I can fit as a demo. I didn't have toiletries packed because I didn't have a trip lined up.
What about ironed clothes? Does it work then too?
The ironed clothes are going to be really wrinkled when u take it out since it's compressed really tight in the bag

For anyone who comes across this video, just sit on or lay across the roll up bags. It’s a lot less work, and gets out a lot more air!
And you can leave the bag flat by doing this. To me, the rolled up bags add bulk.
can you still use a regular vacuum hose to take the air out instead of using the vacuum pump?
yes, i was able to use my vaccum hose.
Wouldnt this wrinkle your clothes quite a lot? Would need a lot of ironing after?>
Yes It would wrinkle a lot. Lucky I usually wear a lot of t-shirts and shorts
I think perhaps take the hand roll ones in case the pump on the other breaks :-)
I should ask her if she uses vacuum bags! Hahha
How did the No pump hold up long term?
long term i ended up using the pump bag more.. the no pump bag got really krinky. never torn but found it more simple using the pump bags
Is it good for wool pullover?
Yes, it compresses wool down pretty well
I bought the one without the pump which I regret. I didn’t have the strength to push out all the air
yah i still use the one with the pump just because its easier.
I did it and the air keep coming in when I look is full of air again what im doing wrong
maybe you have a leak in the bag?
You would have gotten extra clothes (loose clothes) in if you would have rolled each article of clothing like the military (for both methods). 👍🏽
